20 days to SG Concert

Meet the lovely Tay Kewei - the second Singapore backup singer in Love Can Concert, the other is of cos David Tan. A student at NTU, she is featured on funkygrad.com - here extracting only mention of David:

Funkygrad met up with Kewei, 22, who's currently pursuing Mass Communications at NTU and an aspiring singer on the side. Despite having started out only after JC, Kewei has racked up numerous radio and on-stage performances both as a soloist and part of a creative team known as Project DIY which has their own website (featuring herself and two other talented youths). Kewei was also a Deejay at Dongli 88.3fm, which she described as an enriching experience. She is currently touring with popular artiste David Tao as a backup singer.
1. Tell us about your experience in David Tao's World Tour.
Well there are three backup singers, two from Singapore and one from Taiwan. The concert dates are spread out over a year and started in August, with the first show in Shanghai and the second show in Beijing. We have two weeks of intensive rehearsals here before we fly over for the show. It's a fascinating experience, because all my life I've wanted to sing onstage with a big star so it's like a dream come true for me.
2. So what's David like in person?
He's really nice. He grew up in the States so he's very westernized. It gives people a perspective on fame, because he's such a huge star so naturally when you first meet him you'll be star-struck, but after a while you befriend him and though I recognise that he has incredible talent, he just becomes this normal person you work with. As for the band, they are used to working with famous people so there's really nothing to it. It definitely feels different than when you're a part of the screaming audience. I truly think fame is generated by the media.
3. Was it hard to pass the auditions?
Not really. I guess it helped that I projected the image they were looking for. Also, they needed someone who could multitask, and I could play the erhu as well, so I did fit the bill in a way.

Here she danced the tango with David, lucky girl, lucky David ^__^ This should really be posted @ the Interactive site *sigh* knew I will be posting @ 2 sites for a while. Might post the whole interview as not sure how long it will be up. Could be why the 10% discount offer for Love Can concert @ NTU, so cherrypotato do you know her? Anyway more reason to go to the concert rite. Its just so wonderful of David to promote fresh new talents. & even tho he's so passionate abt cars in his recent msg, he did not forget to mention the negative impact cars have on the environment. Such a considerate & responsible citizen of the world. Is he for real? I sometimes wonder maybe I just made him up in my blog heehee
