DT Fans United

I think u can accuse David of anything but being insincere to his fans. He has said many times without his fans, there will be no David Tao. He has been known to refuse to have his photo taken but that's his right. Just cos he is a celebrity dun mean that anyone can have a photo taken with him. After all, he is not a circus exhibit for ppl to gawp at & take pixs. If u r his real fan, u will understand & not felt that he dun take his fans seriously rite?

Here sumone accusing David of copying from Nine Inch Nail's Closer in 1992 for Ghost. Come on, 1992, does anyone even remember that song? I wonder how many albums he has to listen to in order to come up with 1 obscure song that sound remotely like Ghost so he can write an insanely slanderous post with title 'David Tao is just a copy cat'. Fortunately most of the replies r vry sensible ones.
Free Image Hosting by www.NetFreeHost.com Quite the opposite here where LA band Losing Daylight acknowledges David - Enemies and Lovers was partially mixed by Taiwan R&B superstar David Tao's engineer Craig Burbidge, and the band counts Tao as one of its advisors. That's what real musicians do, help out other musicians, not sit around listening to old 1992 albums to copy them *roll eyes*.

One Country, Two Versions
by Joel Martinsen (last update: February 3, 05 03:34 AM)
The censorship of The Great Leap, an album released in mid-January by the American cop turned Chinese hip-hop superstar David Tao, was in the news for two weeks. In keeping with the censor's aversion to the supernatural, not only was the lead song Ghost cut out for "title and lyric related problems", but a short instrumental piece also titled Ghost was axed as well. The video for Ghost, with Tao playing an office worker besieged by a pack of zombies, raised eyebrows in both Taiwan and Hong Kong, where only a cut version was allowed to be broadcast.
When it was disclosed that the song was to be dropped from the mainland release, newspapers and online media were all over it, describing the video and its reception, as well as printing considerable portions of the lyrics. In an online interview with Tom.com, Tao was asked directly to describe the song and tell readers whether he would be offering it for download. Tao responded, "Actually this is a sensitive topic, I must admit...If [you] can buy a copy of the Taiwan version or some other area's version you can hear the song. I do not encourage illegal downloads." The song is readily available online, however.
(extract with thanks from danwei.org)
Of cos later David did post both Ghost & Overture online for legal download. Is he the first artist to do that I wonder, I mean not for sampling or sale, just so ppl can enjoy his album the way he intended? Such a pioneer is our Dave. I dun care how many ppl accuse you of crazy things like ignoring your fans or copying 1992 albums, I believe in you always.

I think a lot of celebs don't let people take pictures because afterwards they don't know what the person will do with the pic, how it may circulate, what rumors may be created along with the picture, etc. It is a probably a good idea...a privacy precaution.

listen to the song already.. only the intro beat that sound alike [then I didn't even feel ilke listen to the nine inch nails songs afterward coz it kinda too much for my taste].. I still think that 'ghost' sound similar to other song ^^; maybe MJ's thriller is more likely, but nope I don't think he's copying anything.. maybe make a sample for 'ghost' or somethin' :P he got too good ears not to noticed anything else XD

Agreed with anonymous, hi zoe, well ghost has been compared to MJ, U2, Linkin Park & now 9"nail so does that mean they r copying each other since they all sound similar.
