New DT message

Read here

Dated 9/23 & titled Somewhere in the sky, so presumed he was on his way bk to LA for sum much needed rest. Vry satisfying msg as he talked mostly abt his recent concerts & what he did to make the music & sound the vry best. Judging from most reviews that praised the sound, I would say he succeeded admirably.

He wondered if ppl will get tired if he sang I love you the same way 100 times. Speaking for myself, I will not get tired even if he sang it a 1000 times. I dun get tired of his voice or his songs or his music. Its vry strange, I feel I should having listen so many times but I just dun so yeah however he wanna sing his songs whether with new arrangement or the original way its fine with me. I dun even get tired of the songs he wrote for others like Wind & Sand, Thinking of your love, Kingston Man, Our story, so many others. Maybe why I am not too stressed abt his opting out of the music scene. I will just listen to his stuff over & over again the way I listen to Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven, good music always last.

There's a confusing report abt David writing for Stefanie Sun, but dun think he did. The report comparing Stefanie & Elva Hsieh cos they both have song titled Honey with Elva being composed by Lee Hom. So think David's name was there cos he was supposed to write for Elva but dun think he did. Anyway both albums due for release soon so should be clear who is writing for who.

Thanx Ladyice for info that David will not be attending Sin Hit Awards but should be here for concert promo. Sin official fanclub will be organising tickets for the concert so if anyone is interested in joining in please contact dreamzstar0512@yahoo.com for further info. Even if u r overseas & would like to attend, for sure they will be able to help as they r extremely nice & helpful ^__^ Its really good to see his msg, know he is well & looking forward to his upcoming concerts & planning more surprises for us!

David, my blog and I

Really like his hair long...mmm...anyway David is mentioned re the recent Global Chinese music awards, & Lee Hom as well:

Countdown Sept.05--Sept.09
cctv.com 09-12-2005 17:16
The 5th Global Chinese Music Awards were held in Kuala Lumpur on September the 3rd. Seven radio stations from Malaysia, Singapore, the Chinese mainland, Taipei and Hong Kong hosted the event. In today's Countdown, we bring the five biggest male winners...
No.2 David Tao
Taiwan is renowned in the Chinese music scene for its laid-back R&B. And one of the stars is David Tao. In recent years, Tao has consistently topped the charts in the Chinese R&B world. He's also a producer of his contemporaries. And it was this talent that earned him the award for Best Producer.
No.1 Lee-Hom Wang
The award for Most Popular Male Singer went to Taiwan veteran Lee-Hom Wang. He's been around for ten years now, and always at the top of his game. Good-looking and accomplished, Lee-Hom Wang was honored as the outstanding artist of Chinese music in Asia.

Answering to beach gurl, the article dun mention dates but for sure there will be promo once it confirmed. So we must get ready to welcome David & the 1st time he will be officially greeted by his official fanclub in Singapore, so vry exciting for u guys, hope u have yr banners & placards all ready heehee
Now meet Andrea, another non-asian fan of David from Canada, scroll down to read ^__^
Who is one person that you would really like to meet one day?
I'd like to meet David Tao. I really admire his faith and how he uses his gifts for God's glory.

Answering to cookie, actually am constantly surprised myself how my blog has so much english stuff on David considering only have 1 news alert on him, this blog may look like I am constantly on the lookout for his news but the truth is I am really lazy haha & rely on his other fansites to feed me the news so shoutout to them too!
Actually must hug & kiss my blog cos imma really good stretch here where I actually feel good abt myself for a change & really think its cos I have this blog so yeah David to the rescue again *muak* I just feel good blogging abt him. In the past I tried other blogs but it was diff to blog abt myself but there just so much positive stuff abt David that its hardly a chore to blog at all. It's a pleasure to blog abt him *__*
Like I just finished reading Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro & altho I felt torn inside out afterwards, it was not too bad, sorta resigned if resigned is the rite word. I mean there is horror but also inevitability cos the world he wrote abt is really what happening now in a less gothic scale. Like Kentucky Fried Cruelty & ppl say what's the big deal, its just chickens but what's so wrong abt wanting a humane way to eat chickens. They may be just chickens but they do feel pain. The thing is when ppl get callous abt chickens then of cos the world described in Never Let Me Go can't be far behind. Anyway just wanna point out how much David & this blog has helped me gain a far more realistic perspective abt the world & not get depressed all the time. Now to end on a positive note is the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards Nominees, scroll rite down to MTV Mandarin & see:
David Tao
Video: "Beside The Airport"
Director: Chen Hong Yi, Golden Point

They got the name wrong but still it was his very first hit & his very first video - not a single soul in the world can ever take this achievement away from him.

Just some updates

Sin Hit Awards 2005 held on 11/4 @ 8.00pm Suntec Convention Centre, can book here tics from S$88, 58 to 38. Book soon & if wanna company, Sg DT fanclub should be attending, leave msg @ shoutbox & usually the ever vigilant dreamzstar will reply. High possibility of David attending as his concert confirmed mid Nov *yeah yeah* Here's news re Sin concert in Nov, info credit Perfect David Yahoo grp. Also wanna shoutout to redredrose who alerted us first, whoever u r, rose, thks so much, plse do come bk if u have other updates. Shoutouts to u guys too who post updates on shoutbox even tho u drive me crazy by not posting @ forum but u guys r great ^__~
Mark, its possible you maybe able to exchange your Listen concert tickets for David concert ^_^
Here sum interesting news abt David helping newcomer Ryan Chan with his debut album. The article said David signed up Ryan, that sounded so great, luv it when I read abt David behind the scene signing talents, helping them, he sounds like a bigshot producer heehee do hope he is feeling better as no point getting angry with Sula & Lampa, he should dedicate this song to them in his Taiwan concert haha but not in Sin concert as media here usually quite nice to him. In fact remember Yuling from UFM 1003 who I thought did the perfect interview with him, she praised him in a weekly magazine as having respect cos he called her by name, a lot of celebrities she said dun even remembered names of the djs. So not all mbrs of the media r the doggy type.
Sumone asked me abt the Super Girls of China. Managed to find english online stuff abt them mentioning David in the first few lines. Basically they r like American Idol but all female. They become vry popular this yr I think cos of the first 2 girls & immense support they have. They became associated with David cos of Zhou Bichang who liked to sing lotsa his songs. As usual there's the usual criticism that she is using him to be more popular but I really dun think so. She is just yr normal David fan who is crazy abt his songs, quite normal really, David just inspire this kinda devotion heehee I only heard her sang once - she has a nice low voice a bit Anita Mui which I prefer more to the high pitch girlish voice that dominated the chinese charts. Also its interesting that the 2 girls are not the longhaired china doll type. Both r attractive but with strong characteristics. They r holding concert in Beijing where it reported it will be PK meaning player kill or sumthing like that, the audience get to choose who sing next by sending sms *sigh* yes unfortunately this is the level of chinese entertainment now & u wonder why David wants to leave? Hopefully Bibi can go on to better things.

Shoutbox :D

Reinstated shoutbox for faster updates as Sg DT fanclub has posted @ DT forum that it seemed certain David will come to Sg in Nov. So could be true that he will have his concert then. Also maybe for the Sg awards which I dun have the details but if some kind soul could post @ blog forum, it will be much appreciated altho award shows hold vry little interest for me. If David win, its a bonus but if he dun, no big deal. He has already won over my heart & soul anyway heehee, yes away with gloom & doom, must put on cheerful face (^__^) for David's arrival. I am thinking of making a bottle of paper stars for him for good luck but do I have time *ponder deeply*

This is a lovely pix, courtesy Yaka, this fan who jumped security to hand him flowers. Really cherish moments like these & silly crazy unexpected things like this where someone commented out of the blue that he knew David & he is a 'great guy' (scroll down, last comment). They show the real David and who he really is.

Back with vengeance

I think I should just carry on irregardless. As promised I will not post anything to hurt David but cannot sanitise my blog too much or it will just be meaningless. I totally understand his rage against the media and it was the most ugly way to besmirch his character with deliberate intent. And I admitted I was shocked & dismayed at first but I would have got round to thinking that this behavior cannot be David. Alrite he is no angel but I have always believed and will always believe he is an honorable man. I don't know why or who want to hurt him but I guess as usual if you are someone who is forward thinking and tries to bring about change for the better, you are bound to make enemies. I really wish I could protect him but its way beyond me.
All I can do is carry on what I have done so far in my blog, to create a little David Tao paradise where he can be admired, praised, loved, adored, idolised, cherished, respected, appreciated, worshipped, treasured, supported and most of all celebrated for never backing down. He is already a hero in my eyes and I don't care what else some section of the media want to write about him. Publish and be damned so said the Duke of Wellington. Once again David is in good company ^__^ and already his complaint about the incident is being noticed. Of cos they will said he is being explosive & other unkind things but they always said that, nothing new. Or that the comparision to Nazi propaganda is extreme but at least he has the guts to voice it out. He always has the guts to do the things others hesitate to do.
But more trouble is brewing for David as not sure but think due to major restructuring in EMI, its uncertain whether David will stay in EMI or move to Virgin. I do hope things will work out well but guess David will stay out of sight for a while *sigh* Comment has been removed as the spam is getting tiresome & nobody bothers to comment anyway. Also shoutbox for the time being as a bit tired of cryptic msgs. If you have any news abt David you would like to share, plse do so at the forum as it would be more permanent thank you.

20050923

A promise to keep

I promise I will NEVER EVER post anything that will hurt him. Its really painful to know that he is hurting...

Then I found this:

Song of the Day
Today we feature David Tao, Taozhe in mandarine. He just held a successful solo concert in the Capital Stadium during the weekend. But for many of his fans, he didn't sing a song that requested by many on the scene.
The song called Melody is a song that David wrote and sang for his ex-girlfriend, whose name is also Melody. Though I didn't go to the concert, I would like to play it for you since it is also one of my personal favorite. So Melody, from David Tao.

I smiled through my tears when I read it. He promised to sing Butterfly and he did, but now his fans want Melody. No matter what they said and published, they cannot take this away from him - his music and our love for his music. And that's all that matters.

20050922

Always and forever by your side

Sometime I think nobody can truly understand
All the pain I harboured inside
Fearful of using a sincere heart to face the world
Instead I have become more and more silent...
Angel Angel, longing for you to be by my side
Angel Angel, can you hear me calling you?
Please tell a tired and lonely me
That you will always be waiting
Angel Angel, please stay by my side
Angel Angel, never let go of my hand
From Angel written by David Tao & Wawa

New msg from David

Read here

I feel very small & chastised but still must post this pix cos he looked so cute (^___^)

20050920

Sept is David

Calendar boy David! So sweet. Can dl here sry forget where I got link so can't give credit. Kinda spacy as just finished marathon session of Full House heehee really fun. Not much news of David just singing 3 songs @ Shanghai Golden GP where Liu Xiang won in front of home crowd for first but probably not last time. David sang Rain, Susan Said & I Love You, & did not sing with Liu Xiang. In fact dun think Liu Xiang sang at all as he was busy preparing for his race, media really stupid with their speculations. Hope they both managed to meet tho but not important, more important is that they both doing great in their chosen careers.
Luv him when he has that mischevious glint in his eyes haha from Men's Health, can read here if u know chinese. It's about his health regime & how he look so young. They asked him when he will marry & he said he does have someone but need push to get married. There is also trivial news that his parents renovating their house in Taipei in preparation for David's 'good news' so maybe that's the push he needs (^__^)
Other news is his mom in the dancing contest & his dad went to support her & David send flowers. Also SHE met up with his mom & Ella complained that it was impossible to invite David for lunch as he is so busy & he dun seemed to like Selina. His mom said that she likes Selina if David dun & will invite all three to her house for lunch. Yeah vry trivial but that's entertainment.
Love this pix, courtesy davidcn, for obvious reasons & if u peep closely can see 'one point' *heart stop* heehee but dun wanna enlarged lah cos ppl might faint & be accused of se gui again whatever it means +___+ David has been nominated for few awards in the Sin award thingy sry too lazy to get it rite but it held in Nov so maybe he is coming for that & also hold his concert. Here can see his Sprite flash cm & listen to his reworded version of What's love.

20050916

Sexing up David

I have been accused of being a pervert if that's what 'se gui' means haha dun worry not really wanting David to strip but just think he is getting sexier & sexier these days at least in my eyes. Before I used to respect him like my older bro but now can understand why so many female celebrities choose him as bf material. Imagining nestling in that manly chest make me goosepimply *__*
Some news of him going to meet his mom & god bro @ the airport in Taipei, then treating them to dinner. His mom there to participate in sum ballroom dancing contest on 9/17 but David has to fly to Shanghai to attend the 2005 Shanghai Golden Grand Prix which is not racing event as I thought sry. Its the first-ever IAAF permitted world athletics meet in China. Lui Xiang, China's gold Olympic hurdler, will be there & apparently singing the theme song:
Athletics: Liu Xiang to Sing at Shanghai Golden GP
2005-08-25 23:12:10 CRIENGLISH.com
Athletics icon Liu Xiang is likely to sing the theme song of the Shanghai Golden Grand Prix.
A local newspaper reported that the Shanghai organizers are planning to make the athletics event an entertaining gala.
Pop music guru Li Zongsheng has been invited to compose the theme song. Li and some pop singers are expected to perform the song with Liu Xiang at the closing ceremony of the athletics competition.
The Shanghai Golden Grand Prix, scheduled for September 17, will be the highest level athletics event China has ever hosted.

Sry but I find that so tacky as he is not a professional singer. David & other singers such as Anson Hu will each sing 3 songs. Speculation is Liu Xiang might sing with David. I hope not as such a tacky promo, Liu Xiang had sang with half of the singers in HK & it was really not good. Unfortunately David has to attend this event & cos Liu Xiang was kind to record msg for him during Sprite Awards Night, David may want to return the favor *sigh*
Scan of You Weekly of Singapore Fanclub being featured, so proud of u guys. As the beauteous redredROSE seem fairly certain concert will be in Nov, those who have not joined might wanna considered as most certainly will get privileges like better seats & even meeting the man himself.
Dreamzstar, I will most certainly be sending flower bunch, could you find out from EMI where to send when the time comes if you wouldn't mind thanx vry much. Also Esther has said that for Malaysian fans ordering Love Can merchandise from JB or KL, she can arrange to meet up with u guys so dun have to come to Sin to collect. Of if u wanna pay postage can mail as most items not too big or heavy. Isn't she sweet? Napassakorn & other fans from overseas, plse email her blurblur_angel@yahoo.com.tw if u r interested & see if she can work out payment & delivery for u okie ^__^ Meanwhile stay tuned for Singapore concert update *joy*

Of concert and exposure

So now Sin fans r excited after that cryptic msg from redrednose that David's concert will be in Nov, come back Rudolph & explain heehee anyway dreamzstar has already emailed EMI for clarification so let sit tight & wait unless the reindeer decided to amble back to give us more info ^__^ Also Singapore DT Fanclub has the following merchandise non-member can order:
LOVE CAN Stamp Set - $13.40
LOVE CAN Cap - $17.00
LOVE CAN HP accessories - $23.60
LOVE CAN Necklace - $19.60
LOVE CAN T-shirt - $26.30
LOVE CAN shopping bag free with every $50 purchase
**All-in Rate (Singapore Dollars)
You have to collect yourself & Malaysian fans r welcome to order but have to come to Sin to collect. The prices really reasonable & having seen the stamps myself can guarantee the quality. Place yr orders here or email dreamzstar0512@yahoo.com for any queries.
Its really frustrating that davidtao.com is not able to update on concert dates as his fans do have a LIFE & they need to know in advance in order to make plans. But better not say more cos David can get rather spiffy when ppl criticise his website *roll eyes* Well since gagged from criticism, what else can I blog *evil eye*
David exposed! heehee should have wore nothing underneath so we see more skin *drooling* Its tough to be a celebrity when you hve yr body parts enlarged & exposed on a blog haha still he looks good +__+
Nice details of his black outfit, he seemed to like ornate crucifix & he wears them so well too. These detailed pixs courtesy of yaka who posted @ DT forum.
Btw heard cantonese version of I Love You on entertainment news last night when they showed sum HK talent contest. Nvr knew there was a cantonese version. So there r now 3 version of I Love You - chinese, english & cantonese, 2 versions of Katrina - english & cantonese, 2 versions of Airport in 10.30 - chinese & korean, 2 versions of Melody - chinese & korean.

20050914

Heaven is a place on earth

Imagine looking up @ that face must be heavenly heehee no news of his concert yet but they did show Fish Leong which took place the night before so maybe will feature his tonight. Anyway not important but was hoping for some glimpse of him singing in Beijing.
Seem he has Shanghai Grand Prix activity on 9/17 but not sure, can't find the news & davidcn is down. Hope he get some rest anyway. He may have as many as 3 concerts in TW in Dec, no dates yet for Sin & Msia so plse be patient.
Btw watched 2 episodes of Full House & it was vry enjoyable altho felt the acting esp Rain not up to the standard of most Korean series I seen. But he can be really sweet & yet has the presence of a star. Apparently there has been sum internet fighting cos he replaced someone as spokesman for Japanese cosmetics. Do think its interesting a Japanese company would chose a Korean superstar to advertise their products in a Chinese market. One way of getting their products noticed I guess cos ppl who nvr heard of the brand have now. Seemed the fight made it easier for product recognition for Rain (^__~)

20050913

Beijing concert reviews

My dream came true, David got down on his knee to propose heehee anyway so satisfied now cos just watched him in the news. Not concert news but pre-concert where he went to the gym & showed off ^_^ if u think he looked kewl in the pixs, let me tell u he is 10 times more kewl live. That sleeveless top he wore made him looked so young & then later he wore a cap & looked just to die for. He said if his fans shouted for him to strip for at least 1 min then he would comply, guess the Beijing fans were not up to it haha, now have to wait for Taiwan fans to try. Also showed him @ rehearsal singing Rain & media were so entranced with his singing. Not surprising cos he sounded so gooooooooood.
Mark did marvellous review again @ DT forum which I reposted @ blog forum with his permission. It's really good so go read it ok. David was vry high & even told security not to ask his fans to sit down as they r supposed to stand up during concert, & not to worry as his fans r vry well-behaved. His fans respect him too much to make a commotion, all they wanted was to immerse in his music & singing. He was so high that he said he wanted to give himself to his fans, then pointed to an excited girl jumping & yelling, he asked her if he could go home with her, he would stay at her home tonight, he & his band would all stay at her home. He must be in a great mood cos he kept smiling & smiling. Found short, sweet online review @ CRI with 3 songs to listen online:
David Tao Rocks Beijing
2005-09-12 10:32:26 CRIENGLISH.com
The godfather of Taiwan music, David Tao, rocked Beijing Sunday night with the first concert of his "Magic Music Journey" at the Capital Gymnasium.
Renditions of all the popular songs from his albums brought the concert to one climax after another.
As an expression of gratitude to the city of his birth, Beijing, Tao performed an excerpt from Peking Opera accompanied by a small drum before launching into the song, "Susan Says", which is a R&B hit using Peking Opera elements.
Tao staged a huge sellout concert in Shanghai last month, his first concert on the Chinese mainland after eight years in the business. Having heard that Beijing audiences have an ear for rock, David Tao added more rock elements to his renditions and staged a rahter different performance to his Shanghai outing.
Both fans and the media have long compared Tao with Jay Chow, as they are both good singer/songwriters in the R&B style. This time Tao proved to the audience that he has his own distinct style and talent, no matter what the critics say. It's now harvest time for David Tao, as he composes and sings songs that best showcase his talent and passion.
CRI Exclusive/Editor:Chen Ying/Photo:sina

They made mistake of cos with 'city of his birth', his mother not him was born in Beijing. So happy that both Shanghai & Beijing concerts were almost perfect except for ppl not being able to hear David in Shanghai. David even asked if they all could hear him during Beijing, he is such a perfectionist. Here doing his trademark leap into the air, love him when he does that, just so David *muak*

Beautiful beautiful David

A thing of beauty is a joy for ever:
Its loveliness increases; it will never
Pass into nothingness...
from Endymion by John Keats
When did he get so beautiful? Its like Keats said, his beauty keep increasing or maybe just me hee
Incredibly shot of the concert, courtesy davidcn, can really feel the atmosphere. The stage is wonderful & nvr realised the helicopter is so big.
Wonder do they ever drink up all that champagne? He was funny when opening the bottle, he was so afraid of the cork popping but it didn't. Then he went to toast his band mbrs & staff speaking from english to chinese easily. Everyone who attended the concert thought it was the best ever & most of them were singing along with him. Only regret they couldn't get him to strip ^__^ maybe he is reserving for someone's eyes only haha but better not strip, already so blindingly beautiful, if he strip ppl might faint *__~
Seemed he will be in Beijing for a few more days, he did say he will be investing in real estate. Then some well-earned rest for David maybe in LA. Please take care of yourself & come back soon to resume your concert tour.

From Beijing to Venice

For all the talk abt commercialism, David's Beijing concert was one for the true believers. The attendance was not in astronomical figures, just over 10,000, but they were all there for only one reason - to show their everlasting support for David. Reviewers who attended both Shanghai & Beijing concerts were impressed by the new arrangement David did to most of the songs. They felt this is what set him apart from other singers, not just his excellent vocals & talents but also his ability & willingness to make each of his concert different & memorable. Beijing's songlist as follows:
Rain
Shanghaied
Airport in 10.30
Who do you love
Moon over my heart
Let's fall in love
Runaway
Medley: Blue Moon/Tuberose/Spring wind
Everything's gone/Angel
Susan said
Smalltown Girl
Childhood/Let it be
Seasons of Loneliness
Ghost Overture
Ghost
Black Tangerine
The art of war
Close to you
Unplugged: Regular Friends/Twenty-two/Fated
Kung Pao Chicken/My Anata
What's love
Amazing grace/Dear God
I love you
Bastard
Butterfly
Love can
Slightly diff to Shanghai. He sang his own r&b version of Lou Dayou's Childhood delighting his fans & surprisingly Paul MacCartney's Let it be. He dedicated Dear God to the ppl suffering from Katrina, & as promised sang Butterfly during encore, one of the most fav songs of his mainland fans. He also did some classic Beijing opera before singing Susan Said. So David fulfilled another of his dream - holding large-scale concerts in China. After show clip here The next stop is Taiwan in Dec, unless they decided to hold another one in China. I really hope he will stage one in US esp in LA.
Congra to Lee Ang for winning the Golden Lion for Brokeback Mountain. Long admired Lee Ang for not doing a sequel or prequel to CTHD while every other chinese directors all jumping onto the wuxia wagon. Hopefully his win will not inspire a run on gay cowboys (^___^) Dear David, will we ever see you in Venice, I do hope so & it will not be cos of HYPE.

20050910

TONIGHT IN BEIJING!

David rehearsing for Beijing concert which is TONIGHT!!!!!!!!! Can watch short clip he looked heavenly, & so serious when answering questions & just love the cutesy smile @ the end when they asked him if he will strip, wonder why the media so obsessed with his bod? He is a singer not a stripper *sigh*

Watch out! More pixs coming up, can't get enough of him. My blog so full of his pixs now heehee but it is David blog rite ^_* how abt another clip to watch.

Was glad to see english msg wishing him well @ DT forum on eve of his concert, at least someone remembered. Went over to davidcn & this chinese fan went looking for an english song David & his dad sang @ sum entertainment program. He probably has limited english but he loved that song so much he went looking for it & found it. It was Beatles song called If I fell & he even posted a website so can listen online. This is one of John Lennon's most heartbreaking song. In it he is considering leaving his wife for his lover. The melody vry simple, vry beautiful & even if you dun know the lyrics, it will tug at yr heart. What it is abt David that some fans do wonderful crazy things?

Here's a peep @ the rainforest stage where David hope to transport his Beijing audience to a fantastic world filled with hope, love & music. His vision may be too brilliant for many ppl to understand but I am sure they will be moved.

Gonna blind you with devastating pixs & leave you drooling heehee he can be such a showoff ^__^ but he does look heartstopping yummy. Just answering to Napassakorn, the Love Can stamps can be purchased @ his website but its all in chinese. Not sure if they will be an english version but I would think not & considering that David will opt out of the music scene in few years, there's no point. I was just lucky that someone was so kind & generous to send them to me. Really treasure them so much. In the meantime there's David's Beijing concert to look forward to. Promise to post as much details & of cos more pixs for the true believers.
