From Beijing to Venice

For all the talk abt commercialism, David's Beijing concert was one for the true believers. The attendance was not in astronomical figures, just over 10,000, but they were all there for only one reason - to show their everlasting support for David. Reviewers who attended both Shanghai & Beijing concerts were impressed by the new arrangement David did to most of the songs. They felt this is what set him apart from other singers, not just his excellent vocals & talents but also his ability & willingness to make each of his concert different & memorable. Beijing's songlist as follows:

Slightly diff to Shanghai. He sang his own r&b version of Lou Dayou's Childhood delighting his fans & surprisingly Paul MacCartney's Let it be. He dedicated Dear God to the ppl suffering from Katrina, & as promised sang Butterfly during encore, one of the most fav songs of his mainland fans. He also did some classic Beijing opera before singing Susan Said. So David fulfilled another of his dream - holding large-scale concerts in China. After show clip here The next stop is Taiwan in Dec, unless they decided to hold another one in China. I really hope he will stage one in US esp in LA.
Congra to Lee Ang for winning the Golden Lion for Brokeback Mountain. Long admired Lee Ang for not doing a sequel or prequel to CTHD while every other chinese directors all jumping onto the wuxia wagon. Hopefully his win will not inspire a run on gay cowboys (^___^) Dear David, will we ever see you in Venice, I do hope so & it will not be cos of HYPE.
