I am beginning to understand why he included the 3 cm songs. Maybe he is trying not to be pretentious by coming out with a critically acclaimed album either, untainted by commercialism. He is just being a musician who wants his audience to enjoy the songs he has written. So what if they had been commissioned & paid for. Do we enjoy Mona Lisa less cos it was commissioned? Many great works of art were commissioned & despite working within demands, a talented artist should be able to find room for creativity like Michelangelo's masterpiece in the Sistine Chapel.
Besides all the 3 cm songs are pretty wonderful & 1 of them is actually my fav in Beautiful - The Moment. Everytime I listen to this song I feel so calm & happy. Strangely it reminded me of Dear God. Then the lines kept repeating in my mind -- ... at that moment, think of the future, think of the past, just at the end of the dark road, there will be a shining light from the sky ... I wondered if this song is abt life after death. That no matter what, one should live bravely, with hope & look forward to the day where you finally meet the God of your religion. A song that gives me courage to face another day.

It's always easier to criticize than to compliment. Even Simon Cowell admits that.
I guess we can say many things about it, but it's the things that we can't explain that mean much more.
I can tell people I love David but to tell why, is hard, because I can't, not in a millon words.
