Filming DT

During Hennessy Artistry in Guangzhou, David was the last performer & he appeared simply on stage with a guitar singing Rain. Songlist included newly arranged Moon over my heart, Susan Said, Regular Friends, Can't get you outta my head & Marry me today with Kewei. For his finale he invited Justin Lo onstage to sing I Love You.
Here's news clip of the Guangzhou show where he looked & sounded marvellous. Below short english writeup @ CRIENGLISH
Singer David Tao aims at filmmaking

BEIJING, Aug. 7 -- Taiwan R&B guru David Tao has long been planning a professional directorial debut.
David Tao, whose father used to work as an animator for Walt Disney, says he has educational background in filmmaking, and he will be producing professional work rather than the amateur type.
The singer says he has been working intensely on screenplay writing. He hopes to start filming for his directorial debut later this year, despite all the activities lined up for promoting his last album titled "Beautiful."
The singer, known for having popularized R&B in the Mandopop industry, says that music will only be a small part of his career in the future while dedicating most of his time to filmmaking.
David Tao tells the media that he is yet to check out fellow musician Jay Chou's first directorial work titled "Secret," which has been a box office front-runner since hitting the big-screen last month.

The media made so much of the fact that he said he studied filmmaking as if he is trying to say he is more professional than Jay *sigh* In fact long before Jay released his movie & whenever he was asked abt movies, David has always mentioned that he studied movies because it is his first love. Also they kept saying he is saying 'farewell' with his concerts >"< He is just taking a break from music although he probably have to come up with his 3rd studio album for EMI next yr. Anyway if the chinese media enjoys misquoting him & making Jay comparision with David coming up short, nothing much we can do abt it. Time will tell & just put our trust in DT. He is still one of the few first in chinese music to release a music documentary. To tell the truth, when I first watch Ultrasound Labor Room 11, I thought it was rather boring & not well-done. It was only later when I watch it again then I realised what I was missing -- watch & listen with yr heart not just yr eyes & ears. He has taught me so much abt looking past the face value of things. It might take a while & maybe not many ppl can appreciate the power & significance of his music but when someone does, its just so beautiful:
I am a new listener to your songs. Thks for your songs: "too beautiful" album in my most difficult time and in the meawhile I was and am learning to be alone with GOD. Your songs help me go through a lot, thanks. I was REALLY stuggling the timming from god in terms of career aspect/personal promise last two week.
Then, your package new to me printed on "HE HAS MADE EVERYTHING BEAUTIFUL IN ITS TIME. HE HAS ALSO SET ETERNIY IN THE HEARTS OF MEN: YET THEY CANNOT FATHOM WHAT GOD HAS DONE FROM BEGINNING TO END."
Then an mind idea said (which i never ever hear any song inside the album), told me to listen to no3. So, it talks about no one could know the future/ timming, only you.
Then the next day, I have a design school interview form overseas, and get accepted once a while, I still want to give up in the industy I am working, but always at the right timming hear your sond "too beautiful". Don't give up, as it is too beautiful.
Thks, music do really have a great power and influence to the world. "bei sum gei, may your music will be continue spead through the whole asia about the encourangment of love. God bless."

There has been little drama in the chinese entertainment industry lately huh?

I suppose all this talk about DT does show his sudden increase in popularity. It's a great time for him to take a break and try something new.

Meanwhile it's nice to hear something, anything about him. We're all going to miss him. But I love musicals, hehe. So I can't wait!
