Yesterday David's activities included appearing at press conference for website called taobao.com like chinese version of ebay. As can see David looked terrific ^__^ The blue, grey & white stripy shirt looked good on him, my wonderful idol.
David is invited to write song for taobao in honor of their 2nd anniversary. This song is called Tao I Like & altho sum reports said he sang the song & even forgot the lyrics, knowing David the song is not yet done but he could sing it during his concert but not confirmed. During the event, a male fan was picked to sing with David but he did not bring anything so quickly borrowed a bunch of flowers from a female fan *so sweet*
David revealed that he quite often bought stuff online including a gift for his mum & of cos the Ford Mustang. When asked his online name, it was sumthing quite funny but not sure how to translate. David also mentioned that he considered having his own online store so he can have more interaction with his fans not to make money. When David left, his fans were not satisfied & even sang Happy Birthday so David will come back out but he didn't as he was on a tight schedule.
The last activity was online chat @ Eastday & thanks to nlayhua here's the transcript but in chinese. When I have time I will try to do a brief translation okie but it was quite serious as he talked about a lot of stuff & even mentioned the London tragedy. David was also interviewed regarding guests for his concerts. Basically like the Soul Power tour, he will not be having any guests unless they are a surprise like Eason Chan. (He dun seemed to regard Tension as guests more his band members so not sure if Tension will appear in Shanghai or Beijing but I hope so.) The interview make him sounded rather conceited like not having guests is because he felt he is a big enough star. I think David merely stated the facts - his fans are going to the concert to see him perform, any guests just bonus (esp Tension!).
Also he said quite honestly that its hard to find a suitable guest who can perform at the same level with him musically. This can sound arrogant but David set very high standards for himself & he believed in vry tough preparation before the concert so for him to find a guest who is willing to put in the hard work just to be on stage with him is always going to be difficult. But I am sure ppl will judge him on this interview & again find him arrogant, conceited & all the rest even when he is just speaking the truth. Do you think interviewers will ask the same questions of U2, Sting, Craig Davids? Why do chinese concerts place so much importance on the guests? David is leading the way as usual.
Also it seemed that Taobao first considered Jay Chou to write the song as promotion for Initial D where Jay was the victor in the bid for car used in the movie was great success. David said he was unaware that Jay was being considered, also he is not the spokesman for Taobao just writing the song. Actually easy to understand why Taobao chose David Tao, name is one of the reasons & also perhaps they dun wanna to have no of bidders for their merchandise mysteriously increasing like Initial D's box office heehee. Anyway lotsa comparisions with Jay as ever *sigh* but David just shrugged it off. Asked if he wanna star in a movie like Jay, David said he rather be the director so can tell his own story & unless the role is a vry good one he will not considered. Asked if he has seen Initial D, David answered no & he will not see as it is not his type of movie hehehehehehehe David I LOVE YOU!
