Then Chase was played & the dj said what a great song & that the melody went so well with the lyrics. David said the lyrics was written by David K & it took 2 attempts before he was satisfied. Then How long & David said that he was trying to express that sometimes you know that you are doing something wrong & yet cannot stop from doing it. That's why it called self directed & self acted tragedy.
The dj absolutely loves I don't wanna know (so do I) & David said it was extremely hard to sing this song as it involves a lot of feeling from unhappiness to anger to revenge. The dj said it will appeal to boys who have been ditched but David said lotsa girls have said they like it too as it also reminded them of their own experiences. Then Marry me today was played but not much was said abt this song. Lastly they discussed the different styles of Forever which included soft rock, blues & soul.
They began taking calls & it was quite interesting as most of them also went to his autograph session. Most were supportive of David's movie dream but hope he will also composed the movie score. David said that although he may not composed the music himself but for sure he will have hand in it. Also his record contract will last for 1 more album & David is not sure what will happen after that. But he does have plans for more concerts nxt year & may also stage a small-scale one with a few hundred to a thousand seats. His Olia mv was shot in Prague & would be dark & mysterious. All in all vry satisfying interview. I am always bemused why TW tv programs cannot achieve the same level of sophistication as on radio. But unfortunately this is the way to promo one's album it seemed so David will be attending a few more programs like Help me from Guo Guang *sigh* It will on this wk according to TW fans but not sure if its the same timing here. More interesting program he apparently will go on is in China called A date with Lan Yu. Coincidently watched it a few weeks ago cos the guy who made online parody of The Promise was being interviewed. A bit like Oprah with quite large live audience comprising mostly of students.
Still trying to write my review but its hard to describe my feelings when I listen to his album. Certainly its his most aural album, not sure if he meant it that way but the intro with its old skool radio announcement kinda point that way. David leading the way back to where music was heard on radio without influence of looks, style or mv & where the singer had to 'act' out the song completely vocally. His voice has always moved me but in this album, it just overwhelms. Its far too beautiful. But of cos we still want eye candy of David, so click
