Congratulations to David for release of 5th studio album - Beautiful *clap clap* Website has been updated & the page looks gorgeous with an animated rose. Really 100% for the new image & clothes, all vry understated, dreamy & suave.
Watched repeat of Kangxi Lai Le & it was so enjoyable. Intro he sang So Beautiful & he was so dreamy *melting* ^__^ This song could turn out to be a wedding fav like I love you. Ok the stuff that the media took out of context was just a small part of the show and it was not at all controversial.
They did asked him rather personal questions but David handled it vry well. Also the 2 anchors were not being disrespectful to him at all. Basically they treated him like a well-balanced adult who would have such personal encounters. As for dating Selina, all he said was the 3 of them - David, Ella & Selina - had promised to go out for a meal together for a long time. Also he has said many times that he treats Selina like a little sister.
In the press conference for album launch, David also read out a short statement regarding this. He asked some section of media not to overblow things out of context cos it not only hurts him but the ppl close to him. He felt he was being stupid for being sincere & honest when answering questions, so in future he will try to protect himself by being more reserved. Also at the end of Kangxi, David said he just wanna be open & have an healthy outlook on certain topics rather than be embarrassed *sigh* I do feel very pained for him cos the more open, honest & sincere he is, the more the media messed it up. When he showed up for the recording of another TW talkshow, EMI kinda try to protect him by asking the hosts not to ask relationship questions & not allowing the media to interview him. Now its even harder for David to express himself openly >"< But don't worry, for sure yr fans understand & believe you, & will definitely support your stance against some section of the media.
Other than that, Kangxi was a delight to watch. They gave him a toy gun to shoot at balloons, he was so adorable. Then they asked him abt his skill with washing clothes & gave him various garments to see if he knew how to wash them. He was vry impressive! He could tell what sorta fabric by touching them & the method for washing them. Then Xiao S wanted to hear him sing Blue Moon & he sang beautifully but forgot lyrics as usual. Then he said that he dislikes ppl choosing his songs at ktv cos he is not fond of his old mvs, so they played a bit of Spring Wind mv. Then they wanted him to sing non r&b version of Spring Wind & it was so cute but he couldn't do it. After 3 tries, Xiao S couldn't stand it & sang to show him & he managed to sing without 'changing tone'. I think its just that he is used to singing Spring Wind r&b cos I have heard him sing non r&b style before.
Anyway should be able to hear the new album soon *excited* Already lotsa reviews even before the album release & most of them lamented that its not as good as the previous albums. Deja vu again like The Great Leap. During TVBS ent news, he said that Don't Forget & So Beautiful represent the overall style in the new album. The more I listen to Don't Forget, the more I feel the power of this song. Its a new kind of East/West mix - 30s-40s dancehall chinese music given old skool hiphop treatment. It made me realised that chinese songs during the 30s & 40s were mostly played on western instruments like piano, trumpet, saxophone & yet still retained an eastern sound. But now mostly olden chinese instruments are used in order to inject eastern feel into chinese popsongs which relied more on western style like hiphop. Listening to this song is really like opening up a memory box full of good ole days where songbirds in their gorgeous cheongsums sing into old style mike.
So beautiful is just so evocative. I don't know but listening to this song make me want to go & fall deeply in love ^__^ I feel vry soft & relaxed, somehow I feel things are not so bad if ppl can still fall in love. The best way to describe is the lyrics of a song written by Paul Williams called:Old Fashioned Love Song

One thing to highlight ... DT said, "I'm not perfect" when he confessed his unfaithfulness in one of the past relationship in Kang Xi.
No one is perfect. Learning to live and accept one's flaw and weaknesses is never easy as it requires lots of love and patience.
That's the reason why I connect with David. It is his flaws that make him relateable. I love his honesty and how he strives to be better everyday.
Still, as much as I respect him, I doubt he's ready for marriage. Maybe his biological clock is ticking but he doesn't seem commited. I guess, it's a problem when you're a man and am loved by so many women all over the world. It's hard to give that up.
