More Love Can

Nice writeup abt David's upcoming KL concert & also promo:
Double-star play
Get set for a great time as singing sensations David Tao and Eason Chan are set to perform here in May and August respectively. By Peter Yap
Following his highly-successful world concert tour in 2003, Taiwan's top R&B artiste David Tao is currently on his Love Can world tour which started in Shanghai last July. He will perform next in Hongkong from April 14 to 16.
Love Can is one of Tao's latest hits and is a simple warm tune unlike the complex arrangements in many of his songs. His different approach to pop music sets him apart from other pop singers.
Born into a musical family - his father is an expert in Western pop music and his mother comes from a family famous for its performances in Beijing Opera - it's no wonder that Tao's music is a mixture of Western and Chinese styles.
Raised in Los Angeles, he has released four albums in his eight-year career, including The Great Leap 2005. Already, his talent has led the Taiwan media to dub him the "godfather of R&B". He is working on his next album, expected to be ready in the first half of next year.
The 36-year-old will be performing at the Bukit Jalil National Outdoor Stadium at 7pm on May 7. Fans can expect to hear him deliver more than 20 of his hits including Ghost, Susan Said, Who Do You Love? and Butterfly.
According to concert organiser Galaxy Production, the singer will be in town from April 21 to 24 to promote his upcoming concert.
Here really nice english translation of Seasons of Loneliness & its official David is an Asian Hunk ^__^ but this is BAD - sound clip of some asian guy singing One Last Cry attributed to David with the comment 'this video may offend' OMG BUT IT'S NOT DAVID SINGING dun know who but its painful to listen. Almost wanna register & comment that its not David Tao but *sigh* its just netmadness & guess this is what happened when a song you only sang once 6 yrs ago in a live concert got so popular online that everytime an asian guy sang it, it gotta be David Tao. Ah well the fame of David :P
Btw there seemed to be hushed shock that David received 5 Pepsi awards when he didn't even turned up cos vry little news abt it on tom or sina heehee once again the chinese music industry dun know what to do abt David's cavalier behavior. Apparently there seemed to be sum controvesy abt demands for certain awards to guarantee star appearance but were turned down resulting in only a few stars turning up for the ceremony. Maybe they gave the awards to David cos he nvr ever demand any kinda awards, not saying he dun deserved them but well u know how I feel abt Chinese awards. Anyway here can watch another award David won but didn't attend, CASH Best male vocal in 2004, better late than never & its cute when they called him Tao Ji Ji *__*

Waiting for David

Really sweet pix! Seemed Every side is beautiful has become the most popular dled song in TW but fans were confused why there r 2 versions. EMI clarified that this only a cm song in China & will not be included in David's new album. They asked DT fans to be patient as they already given deadline to David to complete his album asap.
If u have not heard Leo Ku's version, Jae from Korea has kindly posted link to listen *thank you*
Jae from korea [11:56:56 AM]today I've heard "Every side is beautiful" sung By Leo Ku. It's first time for me to hear this version. So different with DT's one. I guess most of you including Zhaodi had to hear it already, but I left this address for whom doesn't hear it yet like me, you can hear Leo version's "Every side is beautiful" http://blog.naver.com/yuno0326?Redirect=Log&logNo=120023167817 this is one Korean's blog
Or you can go mtvchina to listen & dl. Also seem to be sum kinda contest where u can win iPod but the chinese way beyond me to translate sry. Btw Jae from Korea, there r still single seats available in HK concerts if u still interested. I like both versions cos its such a gorgeous song. Upload Honda Civic song @ interactive site for those who want it. This song is not so melodic but it works for me.
David won 5 Pepsi music awards last night for I think best singer, best producer, best album, best singer/composer and best song composition. He did not attend the ceremony in Beijing, but it kinda surreal they gave him so many awards now he's not with Sprite. There had been a lot of criticism abt award shows in China, that they were nothing more than entertainment for the masses. Maybe they think if they throw lotsa awards at a worthwhile artist, it might become more credible? Whatever, congra to David for winning so many awards for The Great Leap. Now waiting in nervous anticipation for his new album *__*

Tribute to Leslie Cheung

David singing American Pie last year I think in a tribute to Leslie Cheung. I feel so sad every time I watch it. Could tell that it was probably first time David sang this song as he messed up the lyrics but still he sounded so good. It was probably unrehearsed too so yeah he did great. Sry if the blog not so updated these days as dun have that much time online but hopefully things will ease up soon ^_^
