Not much updating @ davidtao for a vry long time which is disappointing as so little news of David but that's the way he seems to like it - kinda reclusive. As he said in HK radio interview, he really dun like promos & interviews so guess have to respect his privacy. Miss his msgs though as it always bring him closer to his fans. A big shoutout to Cookie Monster for yr kind info:

Hi there,
Got 2 bits of "good news" for DT fans.
1st: the Orchard MRT branch of CD-Rama has some Love Can concert merchandise on sale; 2 caps & some T-shirts.
2nd: video store TS Group, has some VCD copies of the Kang Xi Lai Le episode where DT appears with his Dad.

Found a few more DT related vids @ youtube:

Contestant singing Angel. Think if David can charge for his songs used in singing contest, he will be rather rich ^__^

Vry silly mimicking Hand in Hand vid.

Boyband singing My Anata, wish it was complete as they did rather well.

HK concert tickets on sale 3/6

Thank you so much Kitty from HK for yr info that HK Love Can concerts on sale from March 6 & also providing us with info link Also credit to Annie @ taozeehk who posted transcript of HK radio interview. Unfortunately the chinese a bit too local for me to understand all of it. When asked what he enjoy most in his concerts, David said the band rehearsal cos during the rehearsal is when they creating ideas for the concert. He mentioned that most of the rehearsal is in Singapore so maybe he will be here prior to HK concerts *excited*
He said that he dislike having to do promos, interviews & photo shoots for the concerts. He can be vry stressed but after rehearsing he will feel "wow ... this is music this is music. Rehearsal this is about making music." Gosh he sounded so cute & full of joy, love it ^__^ He also said that he will try to rearrange the songs so its not the same as the cd. But for some songs like I Love You, he will still stick to the original, classic version ... "no no no dance version remix" heehee he really sounded so sweet, wish I could hear it. Here someone who met David Tan & posted his song, do read the comments, so funny. Wonder when/if David Tan is gonna to release his own album? Hope so. David should be in Guangzhou tonight for a concert. Hopefully there will be pixs. Really miss him alot.
This is by opalibran who left comment below, thank u so much *hugz*
... am now a new found fan of David!! I hv since taken an avid interest in finding out more about David's music, his personality, his life..i love his music, and esp. his dedication to his craft. and he is definitely one of the few rare talents who doesn't bank on looking good, acting cool or stuff. the feeling i get fr him is that it's purely about constantly honing his craft and sharing it with us all. And David is one of my main inspirations to work hard to pursue my passion for music too!(i'm currently singing in an acappella grp). and yes, i love it that this blog gives me all the things i would want to learn, see, hear, and watch about david. it really brings me a step closer to david though i hvn't had the privilege of watching him "live" so far. i only hv his HK soul power live concert vcd, and really, this alone is enough to convince me that i have made the right choice in supporting David and his music. so here's thanking you for having this blog as a "tribute" to such a wonderful, personable talent.
It always like that, whenever I feel discouraged , something will always happen to drive me on. Reading this made me feel so proud & glad that David has touched another rare, sensitive soul. Good luck to you opalibran, hope you can achieve your dreams & come back & tell us abt it!

Paradise Lost

Not sure if I post this before but its rather cute & also he is the perfect weight here. Now he is still too thin. I think David mentioned his target is Brad Pitt, well Brad is nvr too thin.
Just read that some Isreali families who lost children in Palestine suicide attacks want Paradise Now to to be disqualify from the Oscars. Earlier Steven Speilberg's Munich also received hostile response from the Isrealis. If we look at the 5 movies nominated for Oscars, most of them addressed geuinue problems in the world today. Although Brokeback Mountain is the one with the most attention, I think Munich deserved the Oscar.
Yes, David is not the center of my life ^__^ Other things demand my attention. Like when will China stop making wuxia blockbuster? What was Chen Kaige thinking of when he made The Promise? When will singer/songwriter stop putting chinese opera into their songs? The latest is Tank in his song Three Kingdoms. Anson Hu's latest single is called Emperor. I hesitate to listen to it for fear it may also feature chinese opera.
Could be the reason why I seldom mention other Asian singers in my blog cos I probably end up offending their fans >"< Just that I find so little to get excited abt in asian entertainment anymore. Its really all abt numbers now - no of albums sold, no of votes, no of ktv hits etc, so much so there always a suspicion of fantasy. In claiming Rain sold a million albums across Asia, half were in China. Nic Tse was said to have sold a million across Asia outside China, but his was not the bestselling album in HK.
Of cos David has already spoken out abt this before but nobody ever takes any notice, maybe just a few of his fans like me who nodded at his wisdom. He is getting more & more sidelined *sigh* Noticed he is hardly nominated in any award shows. Not that I cared cos as far as I am concerned way too many sponsored Chinese music award shows to be taken seriously & most awards seem to be given to please fans. While I do fear David's popularity & support slipping away, it is alas reality. He is no longer seen as a trendsetting songwriter although I have to say they are just kidding themselves. The Great Leap 2005 has influenced more singer/songwriter than they dared to admit. I would say its probably the most influential album of 2005. But then David always works in mysterious ways *__*
