Milestones

Great pix of David performing in a large-scale concert in Guangzhou. He sang Rain & Can't get you outta my mind. Then he went & bake a birthday cake for the anniversary of HitFm. He said that he once hid a necklace in a cake he baked for his gf who after receiving the gift, took off without even eating the cake leaving him disappointed.
He looked rather suave as he attended another anniversary, 65th for the label Coach. He said that he has used their accessories before & even bought some as gifts for his dad. David had a few autograph sessions today but was cut short when he was taken ill >"< Do hope nothing serious & he has a speedy recovery.
Here's a review of sorts regarding recent singers' collaborations. First off, its a far stretch to describe Jay Chou/Fei Yu-ching duet as 'a milestone in Mandopop' & 'historical'. It may be groundbreaking for both stars in so far as their cooperation but Fei Yu-ching actually hosts an awardwinning program where he introduces oldies and invite a lot of guests to sing live. They range from popular, established, new to alternative. Quite a few of them, including those younger than Jay, would also sing duets with him & they mostly very good & entertaining. Although I dun particularly like his voice or style of singing, I admire him for his efforts to not only introduce young new artists but talented singers who are not so well-known. After I seen Tension & Lisa as his guests, I always switch over to watch segments of his program once in a while.
As for Marry me today, its not quite the flop the article described. Actually its rather popular judging by the no of mvs being posted @ youtube. I really sympathised with David & now can understand his outburst at ppl who has no knowledge of music or history to write arbitarily abt music subjectively. Yes, music is subjective but surely not when you are a critic who has to write objectively. You may not like the song or the singers but you have to understand why a song is written & sang in a certain way. Ever hear of a movie called Grease? A singer called Olivia Newton-John? Marry me today is not abt a couple getting married or a proposal song. The lyrics goes from spring to winter with Jolin representing spring to summer & David autumn to winter, 2 generations thinking abt the same subject & wanting the same thing -- love & marriage. OK lesson over ^__^ as for the 'in the house' rap, if u dun understand why its there then no point explaining cos u will nvr understand. How do you explain to those still at kindergarten level abt things 10 levels above them? *sigh*
