15 days to album release

David left his 21st msg at davidtao.com to explain concept of his 5th album, read here he has such a lovely way with words *sigh* The album is called Beautiful to reflect the beautiful memories we sometimes forget to cherish in this fast-moving world. There is no songlist yet but the 1st single has been released & its a real surprise.
I expected him to do another melodic remix like Tuberose but he gone all the way to making it a totally new song. Its a bit like Puff Daddy's I'll be missing you using the familiar refrain of Sting's Every breath you take. Its very very very fresh & could take a few listen. I love the way he sang the old lyrics kinda old-fashionedly & then kick in the modern rhythm. Although I could do without the intro which was a bit silly but the chorus & the marvellous piece of rapping at the end really made it for me. Also love the lingering sense of old dancehall music in the background. But I think not everybody will like this song cos they probably expected another Spring wind or Moon over my heart, but knowing David, he tries not to repeat anything he has done before.
The mv can be seen on Channel V today. Its a story abt a company called something like Unforgettable Memories where ppl can go and relive their memories. Sounds a bit like 2046. David is of cos one of those who will go there & relive his memories. His love interest will be the same girl in the Susan Said mv & they will be reliving their past love affairs so there is some sorta of continuity between the 2 mvs. David also plays a robot I believe. Anyway all will revealed in the mv which sounded quite cool.
The album will also featured a love duet with Jolin Tsai which will be interesting. Actually I think their voices blend quite well as Jolin's voice is not vry high, more in the midrange. Hopefully there are more surprises in this album so as David said, stay tuned ^__^ Meanwhile another new Walkman look with 3 Davids all at once!
