3 days to KL concert

David should be flying to KL today. Wish him success in his last concert of the year. I believe at the moment there are still no plans for concerts in the US. Nice pixs from article in Chinapress, btw vry nice Msia forum with a long thread discussing Love Can concert. David felt saddened by the Asian music market and it has affected him a lot. Sometimes he wonders whether anyone is using their ears to listen, do they care any more? Now that he still have the capability, the creativity & market value, he hopes to switch from music to movies. That's the reason he wanna quickly realise his dream, of cos it will not be only 1 movie, perhaps he will spend the next half of his life filming!
If people still wanna listen to his music, if he still have market value, he will still do music. Actually a lot of people, esp his fans, don't realise. Even though they say to him, "I will support you, don't retire from music" but the reality is when 80% of the music is from illegal downloads & piracy, a singer cannot really survive. He will not act in his own movie as he don't consider this important. The actors don't have to be big stars. Just like his albums & concerts, he will not especially seek out people to work with, just so long as they are suitable.
10 years ago, David said the most important in his life is music, now his answer is his dream. He said that the value of an artist should not only depend on current achievements but there should be continuing discoveries & development in order to survive in today's market. Like Madonna who can maintain her position is because she is always changing but without subcumbing to trends so making her unique. Although the situation is different in Asia, but still David is confident. Confidence+luck+time are all important, next year he will go forward with this aim.
David knows that movies are facing the same problems as music, and he does have concerns. If his first movie is not successful and the music industry is still not vibrant, will he lost his movie dream? Will he has another dream? Or maybe he will have an opportunity in US? David doesn't know. But he is happy he has own dreams to pursue. To him, dreams are the most important. He can always earn money, his health can be good or bad but dreams are important for the soul. He sounds so realistic & down-to-earth. Although I sincerely hope he will not spend the rest of his life making movies, but if that is what makes him happy then I will definitely support his decision.
