La Vie En Rose

Here's Lisa & David chatting prior to her singing La vie en rose I think (pix credit davidcn). Such a pretty song & as mentioned by Francesca, original version by Edith Piaf who actually wrote the lyrics. I like it alot as well another French song sang by Edith Piaf - Non, Je ne regrette rien. Here vry loose eng tran of La vie en rose:
Eyes which cause a drop in mine
A laughter which is lost on its mouth
Here is the portrait without final improvement
Of the man to which I belong
When it takes to me in its arms
It speaks to me low
I see the life pink
It tells me words of love
Words of tous les jours,
And that does something to me
It entered my heart
A share of happiness
Whose I know the cause,
It is him for me
Me for him in the life
It said it to me, swore
For the life
And as soon as I see it
Then I feel in me
My heart which beats
Nights of love to finishing more
A great happiness which takes its place
Troubles, sorrows are erased
Happy, happy to die about it
Nights of love to die about it
A great happiness which takes its place
The troubles, sorrows are erased
Happy, happy for my pleasure

Guess like many ppl her beautiful voice remind me of France & everything french. Here can listen to Edith Piaf sing La en vie rose online, should play in default player (audio link provided only to introduce the music of Edith Piaf, no copyright infringement intended, plse support originals). Just read a great review @ SGFC forum that after Lisa sang this song, David then said he was gonna sing Everything gone in the style of French love song. I so wished to hear him sing it, do pray & hope it will be included in the live concert dvd *crossing fingers*

Sg Love Can reviews & pixs

Think he looked more relaxed @ the Sg concert, more radiant even & confident even tho as missred said he forgot the lyrics of Kungpao Chicken:
missred [10:40:42 PM]
and yes, must mention dave totally forgot his lyrics.. during kong pau ji ding. his expressions were too cute to b true! and he flapped his arms like chicken wing everytime he said "chickadee" that was terribly adorable! he sounded perfect! david tan sang a tad too much.. haha he took up like 1/4 of the whole time. but sings well. the same cannot be said abt tay kewei aka "takeaway". her voice was shaking man. BUT dave, awesome!!!

Think must excuse Kewei as she could be nervous in front of home crowd. As for David Tan - sum reviews @ DT forum did mention that David is vry generous in showcasing his vry talented crew mbrs. Also like this short review from beach gurl:
beach gurl [2:56:24 AM]
I and Nat managed to get some pics - not so close, we're on the 6th row. Mwahaha, love My Anata -vry vry funny - he sang it after finding out some fans are from Japan. SGFC is great, some of the loudest shouts came from them, vry funny when they pulled out the banner upside down. Tao mama also laughed out (she's at the 4th row).

Sry to repost yr msgs here girls as dun want them to disappear cos they r too precious ^__~ Tracy the reviews r @ DT Official forum, need to register to access. Sry but unable to repost here but posted up Today & ST reviews @ Interactive, both vry good reviews & mentioning the english medley as the highlight. Sry that the concert seemed to have been marred by the 'no pix' policy but media pixs posted here also vry good like this one:
Here after concert celebration:
Here David celebrated his parents' 38th wedding anniversay:
He looked so young here, vry adorable. Oh must repost Jessie's msg too as she shared more of her DT encounter. Saw her msg of apology @ DT forum, so sweet, sure David is ok with it but plse dun follow her eg & hug David out of the blue as Dreamzstar said must consider his feelings but still Jessie u r one gutsy girl - TQ for sharing yr 'warm fuzzy feeling' with us (^__^)
jessie b [11:57:45 PM]
Sorry the 1st msg must have left everybody wondering what happened after I hugged David at FAr East Plaza! I needed to let what I did settled in my overactive mind and come back to reality b4 I share some more. I really couldn't believe my luck since I couldn't even go near him during the concert. Yah you are right this year the security was very tight. Yes, I shocked him by hugging him he looked very surprised (on hind sight I should have just pecked him on the cheek and probably get away with dat!!!) I said to him "I was just at your concert last night! I had the time of my life!" ..He managed to say, "Great.." and then I said "Can I take a pic wif U?" (Regreting I only have camera phone.." He said apologetically in Chinese, "Wo kan bu fang bian (Not convenient..)" and then 2 guys standing next to him, one of them put out his hand ready to take me down if I turned violent or something!!!Haha andi then, I said Ok and just walked away....Can you believe that!!!! all this while people were walking up and down shopping... thinking back I guess if I screamed his name, I bet everybody would have mobbed him! I can understand his reaction because it's very hard for him to have privacy and paparazzi always after him. For him to be able to look aroiund in a low key way is very precious....sigh...Hope I can share this warm fuzzy feeling with everbody! Have fun!

Love really can

Can't helped sneaking in this pix taken by starlady of SGFC (hope u guys dun mind I post here) dun he look the sweetest - stray hair & all? Make me wanna sweep the hair off his face ^__^ love him so much. I am so tired rite now & probably dying from over inhalation of incense so excuse if I dun make much sense. Read most of the reviews, thoughts, msgs, etc @ davidtao forum & still vry painful that I missed such a great concert. But David's surprising story of the boy & the tree told me I did the rite thing. Family first & there's always HK nxt yr.
Some chinese media reviews here, here & here Tangerina dearest yessssssssss send me the clips plse plse plse & others if you hve pixs or clips u want me to post plse send them ultra_snd@yahoo.com way. Will post them up @ interactive site altho it may be illegal but like David, gonna break some rules *high five*
Yeah Reb aware some of his clothes Abercrombie but cutting him some slack may be his stylist's choice not his. Thanx for posting clip of his English medley, u are the bestest of the best heehee listen so many times *sigh* Reb helpfully posted songlist PLUS lyrics of the medley as well concert's songlist @ DTFC English forum. Love his selection but my favs:
1) Kiss by Prince - OK probably over the top but still gonna say that I think David is one of the few singers in the WORLD who can do justice to a Prince song.
2) Sweet child of mine by Gun n Roses - wanna hear the whole song plse plse plssssseeeeeeee
3) Sweet dreams by Eurthymic - took me a while to find the song & the singer cos it's 1 of those songs sound familiar but cannot place. Annie Lennox, yeah she was good, voice of an angel, David has it too.
Now reposting msg by Jessie B heehee cos it cheered me up no end, she's one lucky girl *__*
Jessie B [10:02:41 AM]
I HUGGED DAVID TAO AT FAR EAST PLAZA TODAY!!!!!!!!! I was doing some Christmas shopping when I heard this salesgirl saying excitedly, "David Tao is here!" then her friend asked where and she said, "walk straight turned left, he's wearing a hat!" Before I hear anymoe I quickly walk to towards the direction. True enuf I recognised him straightaway!!! But he was dressed in a grey T-shirt and jeans and a green cap with a long bill so very nondescript!! I just walked stright up to him and hugged him --full chest hug!!!!!! He was very shocked but it was just as surreal for me! When I walked away my legs were like jelly.....

The day after concert

Hope David had a successful concert ^__^ Updating online english feature @ The Electric New Paper:

He croons love songs, but R&B singer David Tao says: 'I'm a lousy lover'
By Chang May Choon
November 26, 2005

--MOHD ISHAK

PINK is the new David Tao
No doubt it's an unlikely colour for the Taiwan-based R&B maestro who is known to be serious and critical.
But he carried off his salmon pink T-shirt with cheer anyway, when he met The New Paper at Hyatt Hotel on Tuesday.
In town to rehearse his Love Can concert to be held tomorrow, David, 36, was clearly in a jovial mood.
He laughed easily and was almost frivolous as he fielded our questions about the love theme of his show.
MIDNIGHT VISIT
When asked what is the wildest thing he has ever done for love, he dug into his memory and came up with something that happened when he was 16 years old and living in Los Angeles.
One day, he snuck out of his house past midnight to cycle 20 minutes to his girlfriend's house and chatted with her till morning.
But the trip home was arduous, he said, for he had to cycle uphill to get home, and then climbed up a ladder and crawl into his room on the second floor.
'My legs were so sore and I was hungry and tired,' he recalled with a grimace.
'My parents were sleeping but my mum knew I was out and I got reprimanded. I hid two pillows under my blanket, but she found out.'
But he had no regrets.
He said: 'It was the first time I stayed out so late, but it was very romantic and liberating.'
When asked who the love of his life is, David named his parents and God.
Said the devout Christian: 'Girlfriends can change, and wives too, though I hope not. But my parents won't change.
'I don't spend as much time with them, but our bond is very strong.'
His folks both flew into Singapore - dad from Taipei and mum from Shanghai - to see him perform this time.
But David was quick to point out that he suspects they are here on a mini-honeymoon to celebrate their recent 38th wedding anniversary, and that his concert was an excuse for them to get him to pay for their holiday.
'My dad is quite sharp. It's been years since he last came to Singapore, and he said he wants to bring mum too.
'He provided the motive. I'm just the financial support.'
Is there a lady love in his life?
David claimed he is not seeing anyone, even though Taiwanese papers have gone to town with rumours of him romancing a woman known only as Joanna.
The workaholic insisted that he has neither the time nor devotion for a relationship.
'I'm a lousy lover because my brain is like everywhere,' he said, chuckling.
'I have too many things on my mind, and sometimes I try to multi-task too much. I've been told by girlfriends, 'Can you listen to me and pay attention?' And I'll be like, 'Oh, sure'.'
To get his attention, he said a woman has to leave him alone to do his stuff. Nagging or arguing with him will only irritate him.
MONEY CAN'T BUY LOVE
In any relationship, David said he will never spoil his woman excessively with money, or splurge one quarter of his annual salary on a diamond ring for her.
'I don't want her to equate money with love. Everything I do is from my heart.'
Will he require his future wife to sign a pre-nuptial then, considering his sizeable fortune earned from selling millions of copies of albums and product endorsements?
Frowning, David said: 'That's kind of harsh and not so cool. Spoiling is okay to a degree, but men can be more creative and romantic than to rely on money.'

Visual treats at David's concert
A HELICOPTER, a tropical rainforest, and the song Butterfly.
That is David Tao's promise to fans who show up at his Love Can concert tomorrow.
There will be flashy costumes, a replica chopper, a 'back to nature' backdrop, and great music backed by an eight-piece string orchestra.
David will also croon the highly-requested Butterfly because his Singapore fans have requested it repeatedly.
He said he wrote the song as a devotional piece to God, but rarely performs it live because the lyrics are 'too complicated' and difficult to remember.
Would he also strip and show off his six-pack abs?
David laughed: 'It all depends on the audience reaction. Screaming (for him to strip) for 10 seconds is not enough. At least 30 seconds to a minute!'

20051126

Singapore Love Can Concert!!!!!!!

Enjoy yourself tonight those lucky souls attending David's concert. Make sure to scream for at least 30 secs so David is obligated to strip but so far he has always made excuse not to. Be sure to post up reports, reviews & lotsa pixs for us poor souls unable to attend. As further consolation found sum adorable pixs @ davidcn so post them accompanied by Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition if u wish, just click play ^__^

1 day to Sg Concert

Vry nice 2-pg feature in IWeekly. He used his various song titles to express his thoughts. My chinese not good enough to translate but just the gist which I may even get wrong so plse excuse ^_^
Rain - Now he is 35, David felt that he is more understanding & is able to Let Go more.
I Believe - David find its strange ppl always say they are vry busy (me too), he believes one should find time to make life more meaningful.
Bastard - Abt the media of cos, David just wish they would stop printing so much rubbish (me too).
Melody - Too many K songs. Just cos he is David Tao, dun mean he is not worried abt album sales. He hopes that when he release his new album next February *excited*, he can bring a few changes *yeah yeah*
I love you - David said if he meet the right girl tomorrow, he may propose immediately, very simple.
Love can - Since marriage is forever, his soulmate must be able to give fresh feeling everyday. The most suitable is a female version of David Tao not in looks but character. They must match even in doing the laundry.
I like it - David is impatient to start filming. His movie must have character & be provoking. He felt that even though Steven Spielberg's movies have special effects, they are still very moving. He likes to learn from him.
Black Tangerine - The entertainment world is a big mess. Movies, television & music target the 25-35, forcing them to accept substandard stuff. This is serious Social Issue. David wondered why is no one taking notice? (me too)
Different - David may be a musician worrying abt the standard of his music but dun mean he is not interested in clothes. He felt that clothes can also express one's attitude to life.
He is really so clever plus adorable, such a great combination. Dun really wanna discuss what he said in a private conversation, but of cos the chinese media has no such scruples. Just surprised or maybe not that ppl kept talking abt what was said rather than the intrusion of his privacy or being appalled. So now the media will be more bold cos they were not chastised & may record even more private conversation so celebrites beware what you say. You have even less freedom now. Or maybe the thought just occurred to me the media could have recorded not just David's private conversation but others except they were much too trivial to publicise (^__*)
God that such a funny yet scary thought haha yes I am weird. Anyway what I was trying to say is this passive acceptance of the erosion of privacy just a very small step away from being used to arrest ppl for sedition. And before you know it, Big Brother is watching you. Like David said, why is no one taking notice? Cos they may be brain dead from listening too many K songs. Their only remedy is to attend David Tao's Love Can Concert this Saturday!

Below Engish writeup in Today where David told of his private conversation being secretly taped & taken out of context. Also appearing on CRIonline

Vocal Tao denies TV idol attack, slams paparazzi instead
By Mervin Tay, TODAY
SINGAPORE: David Tao is known for being vocal about issues regarding the pop industry, and the Taiwanese singer-songwriter raised a few eyebrows again last week in Taiwan.
Press reports quoted him as criticising actors of idol dramas for turning to singing, and using Taiwanese artiste Rainie Yang as an example. Host-turned-singer Yang, ironically, was one of the best-selling new acts this year.
In town to prepare for his concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Saturday, the 36-year-old was solemn, but eager to clarify his alleged comments about Yang.
"I was taken out of context and misquoted," said the America-bred, Taiwan-based David. "I didn't direct any criticism at Rainie."
"In fact, it was a private conversation between me and a label executive in a restaurant, but the paparazzi sat at the next table and secretly recorded the conversation. I didn't know they were there until I was about to leave."
While he denied chastising Yang, David, who last performed here in April, maintained his stand about what he called "cross-marketing" in the music industry.
"It seems like currently the way to sell records and succeed is not by making music," he said. "I'm concerned people are paying less attention to the intrinsic quality of music and are instead buying into the marketing aspects of it."
Which is why David places much emphasis on his music, the primary element of his concert, instead of stage effects or costumes. Singapore is the third stop of his world tour, after Shanghai and Beijing. He moves on to Taipei and America next year.
"The best-selling concert performers in the world are The Rolling Stones, and their main draw is music," he said. "If the music isn't good, it'll be a disappointment, regardless of whatever stage effects there are."
Speaking of music, David does not see his own work going the way of "cross-marketing", and said: "Maybe some people out there want to see David Tao dance. But ultimately, I believe they will appreciate and look for the inner value of a quality product - music included."
What: David Tao 'Love Can' World Tour 2005
When: Saturday, 8pm
Where: Singapore Indoor Stadium, Tickets from Sistic
Also chinese feature in zaobao where he said he will sing more english songs on Sat & maybe even the original eng version of I Love You. Both his parents will be here to support him & David said they like Spore & will be treating the trip as a mini honeymoon ^__^ Can find the translation @ SGFC forum. Also believe Reb also posted 933 interview @ DFTC english forum.
Must get it if u understand chinese as David really sounded wonderful & his description of his battle with the roach was quite hilarious. He said if insects could understand him then maybe could 'negotiate' like he will open a window & ask them to fly out. Dun know why I find it so funny but it sounded funny when he said it I guess.
Thanx Mark & Tangerina for yr emails, feel so much better now even tho I cannot attend the concert. Also the above interview makes me so proud of him again. He is just so incorrigible & I love him like that. Here can watch his poster signing event in TW last Sat. He donated 100 tickets to a orphanage so they can attend & enjoy his concert. Rmbr there were children singing in his TW Soul Power concert. Review of Kaira's self-titled album, scroll down, where ironically Rainie Yang was also mentioned.

David sounded really good on Yes933, vry dreamy, such a sexy voice. He will not only have the rainforest stage but helicopter as well. Thought it was an Asian rainforest but actually he had in mind the South American rainforest in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Nvr seen it but always thought it was set in a desert. Anyway it was just part of being environmentally aware as the rainforests of the world are shrinking at an alarming rate.
David also recorded 2 new VCRs just for the Spore concert. The tickets 80% sold with only $168 & $138 left. David assured that no matter where the seats, the audience will able to enjoy both sight & sound of the concert. After discussing the concert, the dj asked what r the things that annoy him & make him afraid. He said he can be afraid of roaches that fly I think cos I suddenly realised dun know what roaches sound like in chinese. But I guess its roaches cos he did mention they were coffee colored. It was funny cos when he said he dun really wanna kill them but had no choice, I suddenly remembered one can buy contraceptive for roaches in Sydney to prevent them from mutiplying. Then suppose still have to live with the existing ones till they died from old age, not a vry pleasant thought. Make me homesick for Sydney esp this time of the yr where walking past the greengrocer which had pine trees for sale, the smell of Christmas.
Sry if I dun sound too excitable as trying to avoid the pain of not being at the concert this Sat. Life can be so unfair maybe destined nvr to see him in person. But as Wislawa Szymborska wrote:
Such certainty is beautiful, but uncertainty is more beautiful still
So I will definitely be there in spirit to support David. Below really nice feature in ST Life Section, love the title, David's diary getting more & more famous as even the dj @ 933 mentioned it as well ^__^

All blogged up
Lee Sze Yong
Media Reporter

David Tao wishes he has more time for his blog. The Hong Kong-born singer has been lagging behind in his monthly entries on his official website www.davidtao.com. The last post was dated Oct 26.
Fans would not blame him for that, as he has been travelling for his Love Can World Tour 2005.
The Singapore leg, which will be held on Saturday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, is his third stop after Shanghai and Beijing.
About 80 per cent of the seats are taken. Tickets priced at $78 and 108 are sold out leaving only those at $138 and $168 available.
On his online journal, Tao updates his fans about his life. Most of his entries are random thoughts about his work as an entertainer, his cat Malau and his penchant for cars.
In a recent phone interview with Life!, Tao gushes about the benefits of blogging: "It is a great, personal way to communicate. I can talk about my thoughts directly to my fans."
Most importantly, Tao hopes to give his take on speculative reports by the Taiwanese paparazzi. In his Sept 21 blog post, he lashed out at the tabloids, which had run pictures of him kissing two women other than his girlfriend, known only to the media as Joanne. He compared the Taiwanese media to German propagandists during the Nazi regime.
In a more recent run-in with the paparazzi, his private conversation with his manager was recorded secretly and used out of context. Tao says he has given up trying to clear the air.
"The media scene has become one that just revolves around unsubstantiated gossips and rumours. It is really unacceptable now," he laments. "I no longer care to retaliate or answer to them."
But Tao clarifies that the pecks for the women were merely 'goodbye kisses', and his relationship with Joanne remains strong.
Asked if the state of things has made him want to hasten his dream as a movie director, he says that he hopes to be one before the age of 40. He laughs and reveals that he is already thinking about a script.
"I have started to write some things for the movie I want to do, but it won't be that soon. Maybe after my ongoing concert tour, and my new album, scheduled to be out next year."
Tao promises the show on Saturday will be a visual treat. Sets and props will transform the stage into a South American jungle, complete with a life-size replica of a helicopter. He hopes his concert will raise awareness for social and environmental issues such as pollution and conservation.
He declines, however, to say if Joanna will be attending the show in Singapore.
Still, he just might let fans know when he updates his blog.
David Tao Love Can World Tour 2005 will be held this Saturday at 8pm at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Tickets priced at $78 and $108 have been sold out. Those at $138 and $168 are available from Sistic (tel: 6348 5555)

Thanx Keke for yr info regarding David's arrival, guess Evonne u must be mistaken but nvr mind. Just rmbr to tune to Yes933 @ 11pm tonight. Listen online click headset icon on bottom right, hopefully webcam will be on so can see David too!
Happy 22 Tangerina! Hope u get lotsa pressies & success to get David to sing for you. Short post tonight as not feeling my best. Will get better but takes time I guess. Also it helps I think not to stay up so late ^__^
Here sum pixs as promised of David teaching Lin Chih Ling to play the drums. U can get this news clip as well as Peach Protein from DFTC english forum, big thank you to Reb. Not sure when program will be on but pretty sure its on cable cos rmbr watching one with Alex To *heart* & it was quite funny. So looking forward to it cos David looks extra yummy. Abt Lin Chih Ling not too sure, she is vry pretty & sweet but kinda surreal for a woman to refer to her breasts as 'mi mi' in public.
Also just wanna say cos David mentioned he is thinking of dancing more in his concert *sigh* that I don't think its a good idea. In fact its just as painful for me to watch him dance as it is for me to listen to serial idol sing. Dancing is also a profession like singing, take years of practice to make a good dancer. I am tired of watching singers pranced around the stage.
If you think releasing an album by ppl who cannot sing is a crime against the music industry, how do you think professional dancers feel when they see singers attempting to 'dance' on stage? And plse dun think that just by practising a few mths entitled you to be able to dance, cos its like saying one can become a singer just by singing karaoke. I am real sorry but I must get this off my chest :( in memory of someone dear to me who lived only to dance.

David @ poster signing session. He looked much fresher & better or maybe just his confectionery clothes heehee but quite a good look.
He drove the black Toyota himself but only a short distance. Altho the pink & blue balloons looked pretty, made the event looked like a car show >"<
He cut his hair again *bad boy* but still he does looked a lot better. SHE was also nearby having promo & Hebe said she had already booked both days of his concert & even wanna be his backup singer. What's up with SHE? First Selena then Ella now Hebe is trying to hook up with David ^__^
Managed to find screencap of David & Winnie during recent TVBS show. Was gonna post pixs of David teaching Lin Chih Ling to play drums but better wait just in cos run out of pixs to post. Not often we get to see David @ so many events.
Thanx Cookie Monster for news alert - David will be live on 933FM, 11.00pm on 11/22. Will post link to listen online that day, too lazy to look for it now sry. But so exciting Tangerina, maybe you can call in to get him to sing Happy Birthday heehee So could mean David might be flying into Spore within the nxt 24 hrs *gasp* breathing the same air as my idol soon!
Watched Rain appeared on CNN out of curiosity whether or not he will speak english. He dun which made the interview a bit awkward with english voiceover. But he looked adorable, was vry humble & presented really well. The only odd thing he seemed to feel his music & dancing bring Asian culture to US if he managed to crossover. How can that be when its so derivative of the West? Anyway watched his live concert & fell asleep +__+ his dancing was great but got boring as rather too repetitive. He has a nice voice when singing ballads but could not move me & its not language barrier. I love listening to Se7en cos he managed to bring across the feeling in his songs. Just make me value David even more, he's the real thing when it comes to concert ... just 5 more days to go (^__^)

Davidcn did it again! Not sure how they managed to get marvellous series of screencaps from Peach Protein. The one above he described how he was tricked to buy intimate female product :D when he was young. They r so good must share with those unable to watch this program, so put them up @ Interactive courtesy of davidcn of cos.
Here he imitated the Vietnamese waiter who wasn't chuffed when David tried to order pho. I think it went something like this - "What number?" "Er..number 23" "Then say number 23, don't say pho." It was so funny when he did it, I nvr laughed so much in my life.
This was when he told how Jeff did an 'all in' & he was too late to get his chips back. He even said offhanded that Chow Yun Fat was there too ^__^ so he must have watched God of Gambler which is surprising. Also surprising that he likes to gamble & is good at it.
Looking doggone when he realised he lost in the dice game, dun u want to take him home haha Actually think he was cheated cos after Taozi it should have been his turn not Patty & Patty should be the loser. But he was a gentleman & drank up the bitter tea cos it was good for him.
Actually thought I can't possibly love him much more but after watching the show just wanna wrap him up & take him home so I can protect him haha made me feel like the girl in Full House who is always trying to protect Rain. Now I know how she feels.
Missred u need to register @ davidcn forum to access bt link. Seemed David arrived in a black Toyota car for his poster signing session. His TW concerts 70% sold & David will consider adding another show if sold out. It seemed he was indeed secretly taped when having a private meeting & his 'personal remarks' publicised. Dun know abt TW but in other countries, that's considered libel *sigh* No wonder he was looking stressed poor David. Also lots more gorgeous pixs of David attending program hosted by Lin Chih Ling, will post them tomorrow.

7 days to Sg concert

So tiring another rumor abt David appearing in the same tabloid maybe they wanna ruin his Sat activity of signing posters *sigh* anyway they do have the freedom to print whatever they like same as my blog ^__^ Thanx Mark for yr comments, no its still same ole me haha actually dun dislike Jay the person, in fact I have said several times he is cute. Dun understand why he is considered ugly. However I do dislike the way he is promoted & the way his supporters seem to target anyone who is considered his adversary. Also I do realised that Jay is not as lucky as David, dun have the advantages of a 'privileged' family & the chance to study overseas. So altho I can appear harsh abt his music & will continue to do so, I have nothing against him personally.
Peach Protein available for bt download @ davidcn so yeah if u understand chinese should go & get it cos altho it was vry funny, David did reveal alot more of himself. He used many english phrases too & his US accent just dreamy. He did looked a bit tired but still displayed his array of smiles & gestures. Guess he's a big boy & should be able to take care of himself despite silly rumor abt what he said in a private conversation. Just wish I can shake off this uneasiness he's feeling somewhat spaced out & hope it will not affect his Sg concert. Dear David you have come so far & we always wish you well no matter which direction you want to take, we will be there to support you.
Thanx shirlynn for link to zaobao feature. Also to Tracy who requested for more english songs sang by David, actually the only english song ever featured in his albums is Katrina in Black Tangerine, you can listen here or buy his album. The other is the medley Blue Moon/Somewhere over the rainbow in his Soul Power Live CD. Most of the english songs he performed live in various concerts. He sang A Whole new world with Tanya Chua, We'll be together & One last cry in his 2000 I'm Ok concert, Up where we belong with Karen Mok in Tsunami concert, More than words with Leehom in charity concert, Yesterday in Beijing Love Can concert as well as several U2 songs in his Soul Power concerts. A few were *cough*taped*cough* & put online to share with other DT fans fortunately & you are rite, Tracy, he is an extremely versatile singer!

David was sooooooooo hilarious in Peach Protein! Host Taozi said at the beginning of the show that cos she & Patty Hou had interviewed David few times they wanted to show a different David. First they wanted him to imitate Indian speaking but he only did a little after saying the show could be seen in Spore probably cos sum of his concerts mbrs r Indian. But he did a screamingly funny skit of trying to order food in Vietnamese.
Dun have any pixs @ the moment but hopefully sum screen caps will be posted soon. Jeff from Machi & Fanfan also appeared to express their opinions of David which were mostly not vry flattering but funny esp Jeff. Fanfan said altho he was not strict in the studio he can be fairly demanding. Also she found him vry habitual abt eating, making sure utensils were straight & tidy then rolling up his sleeves before eating. Jeff told a funny story of how he made David lost all his winnings in a Vegas casino. David also said that altho he dun gamble alot but everytime he gambled he always win double his money!
Jay Chou also appeared for the most screen time & he was quite funny too. I have nvr find Jay ugly, in fact I think he is quite a cutie ^__^ Also first time heard him speaking for so long & he has a slight stutter which is quite endearing. He mostly said flattering things abt David as a composer but teased David for being 'caught' on camera by media & told David to concentrate more on his love life.
Of cos spotlight was turned to his gf Patty Hou who steadfastly refused to talk abt her bf. Actually before they were 'caught' in Japan, seen bits of a program they kept repeating on Azio where Patty did lengthy interview with Jay. They ate hotpot & Jay took her to his shop & let her try on numerous retro glasses. At the time taught they made a nice couple & even wondered if they were dating cos they had good chemistry.
Anyway pushed by Taozi, David offered his views on Jay's emotions & said that altho he may appeared 'cool', he felt Jay is someone who will give everything for love & be vry crazy abt his loved one. At first Patty again refused to answer but she did said both David & Jay being composers vry intuitive abt people's emotions which could be seen as agreeing with David. When Taozi asked, Patty shyly nodded her head but stressed her bf also has his gentle side.
Then Jay came on again to offer his services as mv director to David haha He told David he will make him vry attractive on screen & he can chose the female lead. He felt David most suitable in the same role as the Let fall in love mv surrounded by beautiful girls. Taozi said she will be responsible for the script & let David has scenes such as french kissing & embracing barechested, & suggested Patty as the love interest in the mv provided the 'director' is willing. Can see Patty looking vry squirmish poor girl. Then they played guessing game where the loser has to drink sum nasty beverage. David lost both times but he seemed to enjoying drinking so it was quite funny too. Anyway I was laughing all thru the show.
