Ideal boyfriend

Thousand thank yous to Alice@NAFTAO for the following concert info:
Hey!
I got the dates for the upcoming concerts in China. From the official "123 we are all wooden men concert" website: http://daphne.vgongshe.com/
9/22 Guiyang
9/29 or 30 Chongqing
12/15 Guangzhou
Add oil!
Alice@NAFTAO

I presume Guiyang is in Chengdu cos that's where the 9/22 concert is scheduled. Also the Daphne website has some nice pixs of David & the winners. Sry abt the delay in updates but as usual DT has disappeared quietly although he will be in Quangzhou for Hennessy Artistry this weekend. They been showing his Hennessy cm on MTV again & just made me miss him more. Miss his smile & his warmth. Saw this unexpected vid on youtube when SHE was in HK & they were asked to describe their ideal boyfriend & surprisingly this time it was Hebe who mentioned David not Selina. Maybe they swapped ideal bf ^__^ Anyway Hebe's ideal bf should not be too goodlooking, must be talented & manly ... like DT! Her ideal HK bf is Eason who also has the same qualities. That girl has great taste in men heehee

Very like a whale

Hamlet: Do you see that cloud, that's almost in shape like a camel?
Polonius: By the mass, and 'tis like a camel, indeed.
Hamlet: Methinks, it is like a weasel.
Polonius: It is backed like a weasel.
Hamlet: Or, like a whale?
Polonius: Very like a whale.
(From Hamlet by William Shakespeare)

Oh dear now I have picked myself up from the floor. Thank you for pointing out my mistake. I feel very shakespearean for mistaking beluga whales for dolphins. That's it, my career as a greenie is effectively over ^__^ Anyway hope u guys had a good laugh. Not much news abt DT but he should be showing up in Quangzhou for Hennessy Artistry press conference on 8/3. Guess he should be in LA now slaving over his film script. Missing him already *sigh* Here's nice youtube vid where David talked abt working with SHE & Rene with some footage of his Love Can concert. Interesting when he kept mentioning Ella & praising her cos I think by that time he would have known that she was dating Josh *__*

Creepy white dolphins

Heard Elope to the moon by Mayday feat Cheer Chen & marginally prefer it to Leehom feat Selina only cos it dun remind me of an old Teresa Deng song. But the mv is even better. I nvr had so much fun watching a mv before. First off it started with fingers tapping on a keyboard & familiar msger beep much like Marry Me Today yet unlike it cos it has absolutely nothing to do with what come after. Maybe it kinda throwing down the gauntlet to DT - I can outsappy you any day :P Then random shots of Ashin, Cheer & the rest of the band & beginning to look like a shampoo cm with slow mo shots of Cheer's long tresses. Now I used to admire Cheer cos she was a bit different from most other Chinese female singers with more character than cuteness. Here she is reduced to be the generic, sweetfaced Taiwanese songbird with a rockband. Still she looks very pretty. By this time the song dun matter much as its not really a duet, just a poppy song with Cheer singing backup.
Now we come to the best part - little creepy white dophins drifting all over the place! I nvr knew dophins can look so creepy. It finally ended with Cheer standing next to a ginormous creepy white dolphin looking more like a creepy beached whale. Anyway I got the msg - Mayday is an environmentally friendly rockband & the mv is probably abt the real white chinese dolphin called baiji living in the Yangtse River which had gone extinct last yr at the hand of mankind. Although much prefer the directness & honesty of Artic Monkey who wondered why anyone would be interested in the opinion of rockbands on environmental issues "especially when we're using enough power for 10 houses just for (stage) lighting. It'd be a bit hypocritical." Mayday just held 3 concerts in TW each with a dazzling display of stage lighting. Not getting at Mayday but just a bit tired of singers & bands getting on the environmental bandwagon without knowing much abt what it entails. Mind you David's concerts were just as bad but at least he did not have creepy white dolphins in his mv ^__^

Jia's 77 Shanghai concert review

Sry been MIA but I am fine now, thanks for yr concern Sean. A great big hug to Jia ^__^ who send me an email with the following brilliant review of 77 Shanghai concert. Hope u dun mind me posting here. Also some vry interesting pixs of the venue. Thanks again Jia for yr contribution!
I had floor seats this time, close to the front of the BACK section of floor seats. For Shanghai Love Can 2005 and for Toronto Concert I had been in the stands. My seats didn't turn out to be that great. From the first song, the people in the front started to stand up (haha it's DT, can you blame them). This caused the people behind them to stand up or else they can't see, and this effect went back through all the floor seats. Eventually, the people at the back of the front section couldn't see, so they stood on their chairs. Of course, this blocked everyone in the back section, so we tried to stand on chairs as well. But after a few songs the rain came down hard, and the floor became a sea of umbrellas. That was officially the end of me really seeing anything. I watched most of the concert wearing a raincoat and peering between umbrellas at one of the screens. The people in the stands with cheaper seats were actually dry (because of the overhang at Hongkou stadium) and they could see the stage. I can understand the Nanjing concert prohibiting standing... it's not to discourage the fans, but some ppl got really upset when they can't see.
Even though I didn't see much, I have to think I got a very special experience being on the floor in the rain. For example, during Ghost there was very bright lightning and earthshaking thunder that really complimented DT's lighting and effects. And of course, being in a torrential downpour with lightning as DT sang Rain was really a treat. I was wet but I didn't care. DT was cool too, when he sang the words "suddenly a big rainstorm starts to fall" there was a huge clap of thunder and flash of lightning, and DT looked up and pointed to the sky. Quite cool, he really played it well. That's why im thinking even though it rained, if the concert was successfully recorded it would make a great DVD because there were no glitches with the sound and DT was very natural in his personalities and jokes with the audience. The first show of a tour is always a bit more raw. Hope we can all watch it on DVD.
Every single seat looked filled. I made a point to check. Even if not allt he tickets were sold, last minnute sales outside the stadium filled it up.. Great atmosphere. The new arrangements were interesting. Some I thought were really appropriate. I loved Close to You, which was DT solo on an acoustic guitar. Fabulous. Some other new arrangements seemed kinda forced. Like, they worked with the song, but I didn't think they were as good as the originals - sounded a bit messy IMO. But it was great that he did something different this time and I loved a lot of the arragements.
The concert was very simple and straightforward. He basically sang song after song with no gimmicks in between. Although there's something to be said for keeping it simple, the songlist seemed kinda random. I liked how Love Can had the rock sequences, the Chinese sequences, and the unplugged band parts. But in the end, what is most important is the musical performance, and that's why we are there. DT was expecially good and his voice was bang on for almost 3 hours! I was amazed again at how DT is still the only artist I can honestly say is BETTER live than he is in studio with his ad libs. He lost his voice close to the end when he sang I Love You. But after thanking his band and talking for a while, he seemed to get it back because his final number was Melody, which he did very well and hit all the high notes. He commented that he really didn't like singing this song live, but he would do it for the fans. He also sang Season of Loneliness, which he also said was a response to fan requests.
The girl who won the "Marry Tao Zhe Today" contest was actually a very good singer. I'm sure DT wanted to make sure that the duet was serious. He invited up a girl for Blue Moon. DT: Are you wet? Here's a towel. Let me help you wipe yourself dry.
Girl: Okay
DT: okay turn to the side. Now the other side. Now your back. Now turn to the front and...
GTirl+Crowd: GASP
DT: ... and take this and wipe any areas left you may need to wipe. hahah what are you all thinking?
DT was like "Do you know what song this is?" and she was nervous and said "Sha Mo." This caused some cheering and jeering in the crowd, and she corrected herself really fast. DT laughed it up and asked "have I written a song called Sha Mo?" He even sang the first verse replacing "Sha Tan" with "Sha Mo" for kicks. The girl was pretty nervous but obviously knew the name of the song because she knew all the words.

Let's all get sappy :P

David has given 100 marks for his Nanjing concert cos he miraculously recovered his voice before the concert. There were conflicting reports that the concert was not that well attended but yet it apparently caused traffic jam. Who cares so long as everyone had a great time *roll eyes* Actually Nanjing is not as economically well off as Shanghai & not a lot of ppl can afford even the cheapest concert ticket. David did his best to lower ticket prices but still some things are outta his control. Downloaded a most enjoyable clip of the Nanjing concert put together by an extremely talented DTFCer & I can say even if it was not full house, it certainly looked well attended. Anyway the most important thing is the concert ROCKS! Watching it kinda reminded me of Soul Power but more music focused, more powerful, more lyrical. The new arrangements sound like nothing you will ever hear in chinese music (think Soul Power intro) but yet synching seemlessly into the familiar melodies of his songs. Such a music genius *__* David's voice even when not at his best is still crystal clear.
Was doing a little surfing just now & as u know, there are lotsa love duets being released *sigh* Leehom & Selina did one as well as Mayday & Cheer Chen. Now their fans are claiming the duets are much BETTER than Marry me today. Excuse me but just how do you compare sappy love duets? The sappiness? The meaningful lyrics? How often you K them? Just goes to show sometimes idolatry can make one highly delusional. Besides these ppl really should know better than to stuff more cotton candy into listeners' ears. Btw it seems A-Mei's love duet was not written by David thank god ^__^ Still this is one trend I heartily wish David did not have a part in. Here's quite a funny article abt singers blindly following trends like r&b & 中国风 where David & Susan said are mentioned as part of the trendsetters.
Must say I am surprised at the no of votes for LA - 8. I thought it will only be 2 or 3 at most. So really hope DT can hold a concert in his hometown. Maybe I should add Thailand, Japan, Korea & Indonesia even though there's vry little chance he will hold a concert in these countries. Also do note that you can vote for more than one.

Halo David

This cutesy Nanjing girl sang the intro to Our Love & won the hearts of the audience as well as David. More pixs here & some really nice Getty pixs of Nanjing concert, scroll down. He seems to have a fondness for smiley images lately :) Chengdu concert looked to have been confirmed:
2007 David Zee Tao Chengdu Concert

But before that David will be part of Hennessy Artistry Halo Event in Guangzhou on 8/4, nice to see his Hennessy cm playing ^__^ John has posted @ Tension blog abt attending Shanghai concert with Andy & getting drenched *__* So nice of the 2 guys to take time to attend. No.1 David Tao
David Tao's 2006 creation, the single "You'll Marry Me Today" has become a standard at weddings of young people. Tao got the Best Composer award for the tune. In addition, his new album "Too Beautiful" has some chic adaptations of old songs. Tao also won Best Male Singer and Best Producer. After winning for Best Composer, he comes out as the big winner in this year's Music Radio Pop Awards.

(Pix credit: www.sessound.com) Finally a walk down memory lane with these amazing pixs of Msia Love Can concert by this lighting co. I believe vry nice mbr of the crew posted here abt how he rescued some of the lights, well if this yr concert does go to Msia , he probably think he die & gone to heaven :P cos the lighting is even more amazing. Btw its so nice to read yr comments & find that there are others who share my feelings & love for DT. Your views are always so enlightening, thank you.

Another nite to remember

Reading most reviews of 714 Nanjing concert, dun seem to be much changed from Shanghai. The opening song was Yes No song & not 22 as reported. Just goes to show that really cannot trust some of the things being written up in the chinese media. There were a lot of complaints abt the security being too strict & not allowing ppl to stand up. But it was still memorable & media has nothing but praise for David's muscial abilities. David's mum was there to lend support. This concert was also extra special to David as it was 100 yrs ago that his paternal granddad was born in Nanjing. So next stop? Nothing confirmed yet but it will probably be in Sept. Anyway time for David to get some much needed rest & recover from his cold.
Thanx Noshka, Sukyee & Sean for yr encouraging shoutouts. Maybe sometimes it seems that I am giving up on David but think it will be too unreal if my blog contains nothing but praise & adoration for him. If David is not able to stir up a wide range of conflicting emotions in me then I must as well pack up & leave. Remember he is the composer who wrote Black Tangerine AND Marry me today ^__^

20070715

A private moment

Not sure whether to post this as its such a private moment but just so beautifully DT I have to share. (Pix credit & courtesy DTFC) Taken by DTFC fan during rehearsal in Nanjing, David took time to wander among the seats to get the audience perspective of the concert. For him, its not whether his concert is staged in the biggest venue, or has the highest attendance or revenue or ticket price. His concern is always whether his audience can get the best out of his concert no matter where they sit *sigh* Anyway from all reports the 714 Nanjing concert was just as high or even higher than Shanghai. The weather was fine with only a little shower in the beginning. Apparently David had a cold & in the pix, he was wearing face mask. He got a bit emotional when he told the audience he was worried he couldn't sing but his throat was alrite just before the concert started. So although the 2 concerts were fraught with quite a few problems but DT managed to overcome them to give fans a memorable nite each time.
As requested, Sukyee, comments back as Shouts so shout away if you wanna ^__^ Sorry but have some issues with blogging. Maybe will move to Wordpress but still working on it. Called The journey continues since David will be venturing into movies & outta music for a while. Thank you for voting! Hopefully David will be able to stage concerts in all these places.

714 Nanjing concert tonite!

Good luck to DT for a successful concert in Nanjing. Changsha & Quangzhou seemed to be confirmed just lacking date & venue. Apparently David wrote a duet for A-Mei's new album. Although happy they are working together again but a duet seems to be capitalising on Marry me today's insane success. In fact almost every chinese singer seems to be doing boy/girl duet of sweet sweet lurve. Almost like EMI extortion from David for not releasing an album this yr ^__^

1 day to 714 Nanjing concert

David @ ticket signing in Nanjing. Love the smiley tee :) DTFC is mentioned in most articles as they presented him with a vry expensive cake to wish him Happy Birthday & success in his 714 concert. As he had to rehearse, David only spend half an hr signing but he managed 300 signatures satisfying his waiting fans. He revealed that for Nanjing, his opening song will be 22 & he has invited 2 kids whose age total is 22 to sing with him. A nice touch for his return to childhood theme. Also he planned to delight his Nanjing fans by singing 'I only wanna cry' in Black Tangerine in the local lingo. He said he felt an infinity with his Nanjing fans as they seem to be only ones who can appreciate Tai Mei Li while a lot of his fans in other chinese cities was unable to accept the softer, less socially conscious album. He also planned to make the concert softer so be more pleasing to the Nanjing taste. But I hope he don't change too much as the Shanghai concert is an unmitigated success despite or maybe helped by the rain *__* Here's an excellent chinese concert review where it was revealed that David was in good company cos there were 3 concerts in Shanghai affected by thunderstorm - heavenly king Jackie Cheung, heavenly queen Faye Wong & now David. But David also turned the bad weather to some creative fun by changing lyrics of some songs to incorporate the word 'rain'. Of cos during Rain, the audience cast aside umbrellas & raincoats to sing with him making him said that he wished to come down & get drenched with them. But the heavy downpour turned out to be a disaster for the 50 mbrs of special DVD team from Japan cos David wanted to film this concert for a dvd >"< Hopefully they can some great footage so the highly anticipated dvd can be released. Dear David, always thinking of his fans who are unable to attend. Good luck to your 714 Nanjing concert & hope it will be as success as Shanghai!

DT open letter

David has send an open letter to media thanking his fans, his staff & family members for being so supportive despite the heavy downpour during his 77 concert in Shanghai. He admitted that he was concerned abt safety but seeing his fans so resolute abt staying, he decided to carry on. He wrote that seeing their smiling faces wet with rain while singing I Love You, he felt they were no longer audience but his good friends, his brother, his sisters & part of his family.
Here he looked so mawkishly adorable after the concert. Watch newsclip where can see the rain cascading down on the stage so can understand his concerns as he was pretty wired up & there was also intermittent lightning & thunder. Some fans even thought the concert might be cancelled but no one can stop a singer when he is determined not to disappoint his fans ~__*
He seemed to be wearing some newfangled earplugs. The concert may looked deceptively simple but David did spend big in other ways. The staging & presumably the LED screen was by an Korean company & the lightings by experts from Japan. From all accounts, the concert was a great success in these areas. Here's a link credit & much thanks to DTFC where a fan posted some vids on Linkin Park forum ^__^ Love the first which is Black Tangerine. The lighting just superb & the clarity of this voice AWESOME. I think this is one unmissable concert for DT fans. David seemed to have work out what audience want from him & delivered it in spades!
David has flown to Nanjing but cos he didn't want fans waiting for him till late, he will celebrate his birthday with them today during his ticket signing session which is the only one he will be holding in China. Apparently his fans prepare some surprises for him & David said he will put himself in their hands *__* It's difficult not to love this man :P

711 Ya Birthday

Mark has posted lengthy 77 Shanghai concert review @ davidtao.com forum. Go read it & wish DT a happy birthday ^__^

711 birthday count: 3

Sleeveless outfit! DT is the only singer I know that get away with wearing officewear onstage ^__^ No really, quite like his costumes, they are a bit retro, a bit jazzy, a bit showbusinessy & 100% DT. Short english writeup on crienglish.com:
David Tao Stages Solo Concert in Shanghai
2007-07-08 12:53:39 CRIENGLISH.com
Taiwan singer David Tao performed in his solo concert in Shanghai's Hongkou Stadium on Saturday, July 7, 2007. Taiwan pop king David Tao held a vocal concert on Saturday night in Shanghai's Hongkou Stadium. Chinese web portal Sina reported that the stadium was packed out, with thousands attending, despite heavy rain. David Tao sang about 20 songs in the one man show without any guest performer. A fan was invited to sing with the star in his popular duet "Today you are going to marry me".

More pixs & vry amusing article with David responses in parentheses. It was funny when he asked the girl whom he invited onstage to turn around after wiping her back & she mistakenly thought he wanted to wipe her 'front' so put her hands modestly over her chest. He said he only wanted to wipe her hand & even gently wiped her face *_*
This is the Daphne winner & another new outfit. When he proposed to her, the audience didn't like it & so sang Jolin's part loudly so he proposed to all of them instead & thanked god for letting him marry all of them.
This gorgeous girl in the flapper dress whom I mistaken for the winner is our lovely Kewei who I think must have stolen a lot of hearts from the male audience :P
Here DT looked all delicious & wet (pix credit & much thanks to Babysbaby @ DTFC). When he was singing Rain, he told the audience that he would get drenched with them & walked to the front, unsheltered part of the stage making the audience put away their umbrellas to sing with him, "Walala the sky is raining walala cloud is crying." This is also my fav outfit cos as always he looks best in simple. So he wore a total of 5 outfits.
This looked like they are imitating the three tenors with Pavarotti complete with white towel. I believe they are singing My Anata because it was reported that it was sang in 3 different male tones. Whatever it is, it looked fun!
Ending credits on the LED screen, as ever David never forgets crediting his band members & backup singers. (Pix credit much thanks to Babysbaby @ DTFC) Finally a vid where can heard the new arrangment he did for Ghost & its AMAZING! I think this is the rock section which most people said was their fav & can understand why. None of the pseudo poprock stuff that most chinese bands & singers are fond of. DT ROCKS FOR REAL!

Unforgettable 777!

Our gorgeous Dave in his element @ 777 Shanghai concert ^__^ More pixs here Even though it was raining but the enthusiasm of his fans were ubabated. He sang abt 27-30 songs & the new arrangement were all well-received. He used a 360-degree turning stage in order to be able to engage the audience from all directions as well as a huge LED screen (I think its the same kind that gave Rain so much problem in US). He had 4 change of outfits but pixs only show 2 & both not bad. But for some reason David seems to be able to look yummylicious in any kind of outfit onstage *__*
The winner of the Daphne contest was vry pretty but it seemed when they sing Marry me today, everybody sang Jolin's part. He also invited a rather voluptuous girl upstage when he was concerned that his fans were all getting wet & he wanted to help them get dry so he invited this pretty, single girl. All his fans were envious as David used a towel to dry her.
He really is such a shameless flirt but his fans all love him for it including myself of cos heehee The concert was as David promised very simple with no extravaganza onstage except for the LED screen which, my dear Dave, is actually extremely bad for the environment in terms of energy & carbon emission >"< At least you didn't promised to plant some trees to make up for it like the Live Earth organisers.
Anyway David entertained purely through his music & gave his Shanghai fans an unforgettable 777 night. Next stop: 714 Nanjing! David will spend his 711 birthday there too, lucky Nanjing fans. Seemed that Chengdu stop is also confirmed but will wait for official confirmation before posting details. 3 concerts are planned for Taipei in Oct while HK, Msia & Sin are also in the planning.

20070707

Tonight's the night :)

The magic number 777! Hope it brings David luck & his 1st 123 We are all wooden men concert in Shanghai goes smoothly & is a success. Can't wait to read the reviews abt what new surprises he bring to his music & the songlist. Good luck David! Thank you for bringing music back to where it belongs. You may not want to be anyone's idol but you are mine forever ^__^

3 days to 77 Shanghai concert

Nice pix of EMI galaxy of stars ^__^ Anson Hu is the big star being signed or resigned by EMI in HK. He said that David is ABC, Jolin is C (as in bra) & he is KING. David has such an overseas air abt him that most ppl assume he is ABC but of cos he was not born in USA but HK. Apparently David has filmed a few VCDs where he self-directed & self-acted for the concerts, probably as fillers while he gets a break or change his costumes. He also said that his outfits will match more what he wears most of the time which could mean more towards Soul Power. As usual there will be no dancers & he will NOT be dancing, not even tango as in Love Can *thank god* Sry but dancing is not really David's forte although there was a part during Let's fall in love in Soul Power concert dvd where he did showed that he does have some great moves *__* He actually moves much better when he does it naturally with his singing & the music & not choregraphed.

20070703

4 days to 77 Shanghai concert

The 123 We are all wooden men concert is starting to shape up as David revealed more abt his songlist & opening. Apparently the opening song will be 是是非非 Yes No Song from his 1st album. WOW I LOVE that song, just shivering with excitement how he is going to rearrange it. Then followed by Runaway, Close to you, Can't get you outta my mind, Regular Friends. After a series of 中国风 songs - Let's fall in love, Susan Said, Moon represents whose heart. Also Airport in 10.30, Smalltown Girl, Shanghaied, Season of Loneliness AND 十七岁 Our Love from 1st album plus 22. Seemed a lot of his chinese fans asked him to sing that song as they have nvr heard him sing it live before. The closing songs will be Too Beautiful, Love Can, I love you and Melody. His opening will be less dramatic than Love Can where he was lowered from the top. It seemed his chinese fans said that they couldn't relax when they saw him suspended in the air until he was safely on the ground ^__^ So he decided not to frightened them this time & he will entering from the ground but it will still be a surprise as the audience will be guessing from where he will appear. Although it will not appear as dramatic as Love Can, there is still an element of danger involved & his company has bought insurance for him >"< Hope it will not be too dangerous. Anyway it all sounds so exciting. For sure he will be able to put on another awesome concert *__* Btw Andy posted @ Tension blog that he will attending Shanghai concert with John.

5 days to 77 Shanghai concert

When interviewed in Shanghai over the weekend, David did not discuss much abt his recent award wins. Instead he talked mostly abt his 2 upcoming concerts. He wants to hold a chinese concert with the most re-arranged songs. During the TOP awards, media already noticed that he was singing different lyrics when performing Marry Me Today. David admitted that he wanted to give the audience a preview of what he will be singing in the concerts. He wanted to give many surprises through his rearranged songs.
So glad that he is spending more time on the song tracks then concert theme or staging. Heard that poor Rain had to cancel his LA concert @ Staples Center cos the stage could not be completed in time. It was reported that although Rain wanted to go ahead, it was impossible as only 1 song could be performed. 1 song? While I felt sorry for the poor guy, can't help thinking that as a professional entertainer, he should be able to perform under any circumstance like even a bare stage with 3-mbr band & a group of dancers. I think when David was holding his Toronto concert, he also faced the same problem @ ACC cos there was a footie game the day before & they had the stage vry late, also their equipment almost didn't turn up. But of cos David is experienced enough to be able to perform with only a guitar & still engage the audience ^__^

Some vids to enjoy: above singing with Jolin @ TOP awards, see if u can heard the different lyrics :P Below a very beautiful performance some weeks ago. Already posted pixs of them on the swing but couldn't see how spectacular it was as the swing was pulled upwards on a slide until they were suspended in the air with a projection of huge moving wings on the screen behind them so it looked as if they were flying on a winged carriage. Even the overhead camera shot was rather thrilling. Judging from this, I should think that China is more than ready for the Olympics ^__^

(Vid links credit & much thanks to DTFC)

6 days to 77 Shanghai concert

Montage of pixs all credit DTFC where David seemed to be rushing around the stage ... so cute ^__^ Not sure if he is walking too slowly or the stage too big. Short english writeup of the awards:
2006 Music Radio Awards Ceremony Held in Shanghai
The 2006 Music Radio China Top Music Chart awards ceremony, the annual round-up of China's music industry, was held on Friday June 29 at the Shanghai Grand Stage. The event featured a veritable galaxy of stars from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Rebecca Jin (Jin Haixin) and Anson Hu won the mainland Best Female and Male Singer of the year awards, while Jasmine Leung and David Tao claimed the awards for Hong Kong and the Taiwan region. Chris Li, Zhou Bichang and Jane Zhang, the top three winners of 2005 "Super Girl" contest, competed with each other again for the mainland's Most Popular Female Singer, and the award finally went to Chris Li. Angela Chang grabbed the Most Popular Female Singer in Hong Kong and the Taiwan region, beating close rivals Jolin Tsai, Elva Siu and Joey Yung. As for the male singers, the mainland's most popular singer was Aloys Chen (Chen Kun), while his counterpart in Hong Kong and the Taiwan region turned out to be Shin, the lead singer of the hit band, Shin. (Reposted from crienglish)
Nice pix with Jolin & A-Mei. The media seemed to like his attire & called him 白马王子 *__* Watch his interview here but vry slow loading. David was in excellent mood, kept smiling & waving to his fans. Maybe he is vry happy with the planning of his concert ^__~ Just realised his Shanghai concert will be on 7/7/7 should be lucky for him I hope.
Singing with Jolin. Actually he got 4 awards as Marry Me Today was also one of TOP gold songs.
David also took time to attend a charitable event for deaf children. He quickly learnt some sign language to communicate with them & donate some concert tickets. He welcomed them to attend his concert saying although they are deaf but they may still be able to feel & enjoy the sight of concert. He hope to be able to film a movie without sound abt them to encourage ppl to learn simple sign language to communicate with the deaf.
