Oscartime :)

For once dun really have any favorites but of cos hope that Pan's Labyrinth will get at least one. But if Little Miss Sunshine do get Best Pic, I will be ecstatic cos I enjoyed it so much. Yes, it was a bit sentimental & too many obvious plot devices but it had warmth & heart. Also probably the most perfect cast ever & a crazy, unexpected ending. I won't even mind Martin Scorsese getting his gong at last, at the expense of the other more deserving directors like LMS who at least worked with their own original script, just to see if he would thank the producers of Infernal Affairs :P Unlike David, I am not a fan of his testosterone movies >"<
Also hope that Curse of the Golden Flower get Best Costume as they were really vry beautiful & the best thing in the movie apart from Gongli of cos. As for Gongli getting robbed of nomination I laid squarely at the feet of Zhang Yimou who tried too hard to make an Oscar winning movie. Curse should have been Gongli movie & hers alone, instead she had to share precious screentime with an uncharismatic Jay Chou. There was little chemistry between them & poor Gongli was forced to make too much unnecessary touchy feely scenes of affecting mom/son moments so jaring in an ancient setting. But in the end, even she stopped trying at Jay's feeble, anticlimax acting & sat there frozen with absolutely no feeling of grief on her lovely face *sigh* Still I do adore her in the movie as her beauty was so captivating.

Thank God for DT

Thank you Jane for being 1st to tag ^__^ & yr info regarding DT's new watch. Quite a beauty - Bell & Ross BR01-92 Limited Edition. Apparently its out of stock but available @ ebay for almost US5k. Maybe Xmas gift from someone special *wink* Here's youtube vid of CCTV Spring Gala performance of Marry Me Today which had received complaints that it was much too short:

Was browsing as usual & came across this & it was like a light shining on me once again. As I say, I write this blog not for self glorification, not to make myself known to netizens, not even to have the chance to come face to face to DT. It was just something I had to do once I heard Black Tangerine, the first DT song to touch my heart. I thought I was the only one to feel this way about his songs & somehow I need to let it out. It was much too precious to keep to myself. Now here's someone who felt the same. Someone from a different culture & who is much older. Someone who holds an important job in a foreign country. As far away from a young troublesome female fanatic as you can get. And yet he felt the same to take the trouble to translate Dear God to put it online. A song by a Chinese singer in an album released 2 yrs ago. Also scroll down to read his touching msg from his daughter. Somehow DT made all this happen. He probaby never expected this, all he ever wanted is to make music for the soul. I guess he has succeeded.

Who is David Tao?

So exciting! ACC has updated his concert info:
David Tao Love Can World Tour
March 29, 2007
8:00p.m.
Doors open at 7:00 PM.
"David Tao Love Can World Tour Live in Toronto 2007", presented by Tai Pan Tours, is scheduled to be on stage at Air Canada Centre, 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2007.
For the first time, singing and song-writing sensation David Tao will be performing in Toronto at Air Canada Centre. With his successful world tour, Love Can which started in 2005, Torontonians will finally have the opportunity to witness David performing live.
Son of famous performers in Taiwan, David moved to the States at a young age. Growing up with both Taiwanese and American cultures, David has developed his own interpretation of music. Winning big time in the 9th Golden Music Awards in Taiwan – totaling of 5 awards including Best Newcomer, Best Singer, Best Producer, Best Song, and Best Album – has only reinforced his status in the music industry.
David is a well rounded musician. He can play many different kinds of musical instruments including guitar, piano and drums while singing along to his own tunes. His signature style of R&B has rewritten the scene of Mando-pop in Taiwan. Always trying to outdo himself, David Tao is definitely one of the most creative artists in the recent history of Asian music.
(Reposted from ACC)

Really nice & interesting blurb & a very good intro to our dear Dave. Hope tickets are selling well cos he didn't really do a lot of promo, not even updating on his website. Guess he is putting his trust in God & of cos his fans to spread the word ^__^ Must spruce up my blog cos maybe you never know, ppl might be curious enough to wanna know more abt this unknown Asian singer having a concert @ Air Canada Centre. Currently doing a Discography blog with youtube links, must as well get more multimedia for the sake of David *__* My shoutbox seems to have problem connecting, oh well, wait awhile to see if its fixed cos dun wanna keep changing *sigh*

DT on film

Managed to catch David singing Tai Mei Li @ Hito award show. He was simply sweet when he closed his eyes initially to get into the mood of the song. It was a passable performance for David & he even did a little vibrato maybe cos he was tired & remembering that he had the WOW concert the day after. As for the Spring Gala, it was extremely short, only 90 secs but still it was nice to see him all dressed up on the lovely stage. I think he is possibly the only chinese male singer who can get away with the combination of cravat, jacket, shirt & jeans. Just looks rite on him for some reason. Below news vid of backstage interview. His CNY wish was for filming his movie so clearly it must be on his mind all the time.

Really wish him all the best & hope that his 1st movie will have the same success as his 1st album or his 1st documentary. His concept of comparing the making of an album to the birth of a child was quite apt I thought & vry creative. Also remembered being impressed by the vignettes in Tension's 1st vcd I Believe called Lifestyle. I am guessing its David's idea cos its so like his style. They really captured the personality of each of them in a nutshell - quite brilliant. They really made me more interested in Tension *gosh missing them so very very very much*
Then there are the various clips he filmed for his concerts which were well-received. Again a great idea to fill the time & entertain when he was not onstage. The one I liked was The Giving Tree which moved a lot of ppl. All in all, encouraging signs that David surely knows how to connect with the audience through film.

CNY reflections on DT

Cute pix of David holding onto his pants ^__^ He seems to like rather tight tees >"< but he does wear them well. MSN has posted up heaps of great pixs of WOW concert (Link credit 喆迷天堂, pix credit msn.com.tw). CCTV has following nice writeup of Spring Festival Gala with mention of David:
CCTV´s Spring Festival Gala counts down
Source: CCTV.com
02-16-2007 17:10
Special Report: 2007 Spring Festival
Well the Lunar New Year is almost upon us and it's less that 24 hours to start of CCTV's celebration gala. With audience anticipation running high, the performers went into their final dress rehearsal on Thursday night.
The acrobatics sees dozens of teenage girls performing a stunning array of tricks on the ever popular Chinese diabolo. Though the appearance in the show marks something of a comeback for this traditional plaything as a stage entertainment -- one which has required literally years of preparation -- and if all goes to plan, it could be one of the night's big hits.
Diabolo performer, said, "This program is technically demanding, and prone to flop. So we need practice, practice and practice. We will keep our fingers crossed for a success."
Their acrobatic act is the only one alongside 32 other items, which range from singing and dancing to opera, magic and the highly-anticipated cross talk and short sketches. They all survived several rounds of a fierce elimination contest and promising an enthralling night from the best of the best.
Jin Yue, general director 2007 CCTV's Spring Festival Gala, said, "There is still some room for improvement in terms of the pace. I believe that all things will be in its right timing and place at the big night."
Singing stars from Hong Kong and Taiwan arrived in time for the last rehearsal. Pop divas Jolin Tsai, Joey Yeung and Angela Chang, as well as R&B sensation David Tao all added the fun. The newcomers to the event just can't help concealing their excitement.
Angela Chang, said, "It's a different experience. I usually spend the night with my family, but this year I am looking forward to ringing in the new year with an audience of millions!"
David Tao, said, "It's my first time on the stage of Spring Festival Gala. I expect to learn more about traditional Chinese art here."
Besides their appeal to the younger generation, there is also something on offer for those looking for a bit of nostalgia, as some artists -- both old and young -- will deliver a number of popular standards.
In dance category, which produce the highlight of the show for two years running, there are a couple of potential hits. One is a type of tap dance, which has been practiced by Tibetans for many generations. Another combines a pacey modern feel with the classic elegance of south China.
The comedy and sketch shows feature a host of established stars including the double act of Zhao Benshan and Song Dandan, along with Feng Gong and Pang Changjiang, who no doubt all aim to leave the audience helplessly begging for more.
The pageant will begin at eight o'clock New Year's Eve on Saturday and run through to the first peals of 2007. CCTV 9 will cover it all live.

Another sina article mentioned the standard low fees all the artists received & some even perform for free just to appeared on the program. David's fee is in the higher range & slightly more than Jolin. Certainly most of the articles considered his appearance as 1 of the highlights. Above he wishes his CCTV fans Happy Chinese New Year. Just love his handwriting *__*
Certainly David's album sales are vry important for his career but there nothing much we can do abt it apart from buying the real thing. We cannot force ppl to like his music, buy his album or vote for him. Also I think we should have a little faith in David & his music. Just from the ppl posting here & the many places they come from: Sin, Msia, Thailand, Indonesia, HK, Korea, Japan, USA, Canada & Europe, you can tell how far-reaching is his fame. For someone who is so low-profiled, has nvr been in an idol series or movie, do not has the requisite good idol looks or personality, I think its pretty amazing. Also isn't this the reason why we love him? Cos he cares more for the integrity of his music than popularity. Will you love him more just cos he is winning votes & some useless popularity award? Better that he concentrates on his music, his concerts & his movie than try to please his fans by making himself more popular.
There was an article which compared David & Jolin @ EMI. Jolin has to appear in scheduled publicity activities, must come out with an album a year & less freedom to do the things she want. David is more relaxed & can come out with an album whenever he is ready. So Jolin is more popular but she has to make lots more sacrifices. Yet her appearance fee is usually slightly below David's. I think that is a good indication of David's status in the Chinese music industry. I don't know abt other fans but at the moment, I will not want to change a single thing abt our Dave *__* On that note -- Happy Lunar New Year!

DT rehearsal & update

David & Jolin rehearsing for CCTV Spring Gala Nite. He does look good in red or maybe I am just biased ^__^ Jolin looks sweet too in her red dress & matching tights.
Candid shot of them walking to the stage for rehearsal. David flew into Beijing late on 2/14 & declined media interview as he was tired & wanted to rest for the rehearsal altho I believed he did meet up with DTFC *__*
Tai Pan Tour which is presenting David's concert in Toronto has updated their website with info:

Also once again thanks to Jia for following update
UPDATE: My friend checked on ticketmaster and said the tickets are selling well, and there's still more than a month left. Word is really spreading... I think the show mite sell out!
So those thinking of going better act fast ^__^ Remember this is his 1st concert outside of Asia & I think it will be something really special. His next concert stop in NA will be his hometown LA in April apparently for 2 nites but not much info at the moment (Info credit Alice Tan @ DT forum)
It seemed that Tao Dawei will not be singing Marry me today on CNY but his evergreen hit Friend's Song. Regarding DT album sales, The Great Leap 2004 probably sold around 120k Asia wide while Beautiful sold around 70k in Taiwan but these are not really confirmed figures. His biggest selling album was I'm OK which was also top selling Mandarin album but all his albums including Ultrasound were among the 10 bestselling Mandarin albums in Asia for the yr they were released. Anyway I am not really too concerned abt his album sales or popularity votes. So long as he is still doing the music he loves & holding concerts all over the world, I am a happy fan *__*

Toronto concert update

Heartfelt thanks to Jia for the following update in Comments:
Hiyaz! Long time reader n DT fan, first time commenter =] The blog is great keep up the great work.
Just wanted to say I've already bought tickets to DT Love Can at the ACC in Toronto. I'll be going with 6 friends, can't wait! I saw the first Love Can in Shanghai in 2005, but he's changed it up quite a bit since then. And of course, this time there's no flying to China involved. Haha!
I've waited a long time for him to come out here... The news of DT's concert showed up here pretty suddenly, so I was surprised, but was able to snag tickets as soon as they went on sale yesterday.
The ACC is actually a pretty hot venue in Canada, most of the big names that come to Canada play at the ACC. Pretty cool that DT is able to perform there!!
Btw a bit of info, he is actually having a smaller venue setup than the one pictured. He's going with "theatre + floor" layout instead of the concert layout pictured in the post. It's going to look more like this:
Fewer seats means fans gotta buy their tickets soon! Prices are (in Canadian dollars): $48 / $68 / $88 / $108
Get em while they last! And of course... this probably was decided so that the place would look more full...because ACC is an expensive venue and ticket prices aren't exactly a bargain. I hope DT can fill the house!!
I'll keep everyone posted. GO DT!
2/12/2007 1:51 AM

Look forward to yr further updates. So wonderful that David has fans not only in Asia but outside Asia as well. I really like the look of smaller venue & keeping fingers crossed that it will be full house ^__^ Actually I am really excited that he is having a concert outside of Asia at last. I know that unlike the others, he does not have the grand ambition of 'bringing Chinese music to the world'. All he wants is for people to listen to his music & understand music has no boundaries. But being the fangirl, I really hope that more & more people get exposed to the music of this so very talented musican *__*

Love Can 07 in Toronto

Look out North America, David Tao is coming your way!
David Tao Love Can Live 07
Air Canada Centre, Toronto, ON
Thu, Mar 29, 2007 08:00 PM
Book online here
At last he made good on his promise & will be staging his first(?) NA concert in Toronto, Canada, on 3/29. Its not on a weekend but still his NA fans have already waited for so long. The venue is Air Canada Centre where apparently U2 has performed before ^__^ The website hasn't been updated with his concert info yet though, can't wait to see his name there. I think his other concerts in USA will not be long coming so guess its true he is planning on having 10 concerts this yr. I think it will not be the usual places like HK, Spore or even Shanghai. I think he promised his fans in other parts of China that he will stage concerts there like Chengdu & Quangzhou. Anyway David always bring us surprises *__*
As for the perenial gf question ... its for David to know ^__~ He has been tightlipped abt it so fans just have to respect his privacy. He is a man who always know his own mind so if he is going to get married, he will in his own sweet time. So in the meantime we just enjoy him the way he is *__*

Vista in the house

Finally watched David in WOW concert & enjoyed it so much, watch it again. This man is truly TOPS in live singing. The control & timbre of his voice together with his heartfelt expressions just give me goosebumps. Not many singers can WOW the audience just with his vocals & beautifully written songs. No dancers, no band mbrs, yet David commands the stage effortlessly. This concert reminds me of Soul Power probably cos of the simplicity of the stage & his attire. Love Can was great more cos of his interaction with the band, but as an ardent fan, I only need David & the more of him the better *__* Even if he were to sing all by himself for 5 hrs I will not be bored.
Songlist: Can't get you outta my mind, Who do you love, Regular Friends, Smalltown Girl, Susan Said, Rain, I Love You & Marry me today. My fav is Regular Friends where he freestyled while strumming his guitar, just gorgeous. Who do you love was quite fabulous too, I have forgotten how much I adore this song live esp when his voice was just a bit hoarse & he emoted so gracefully. Once again one marvelled at the CD quality of his voice, or rather the fact that he did little to enhance his vocal recording digitally.
In between Taozi the MC appeared to ask David questions & engaged in light banter. Papa Tao was shown when David talked abt being naughty & wowing his parents ^__^ He invited 2 girls to come onstage when he sang Susan Said. One of them gave him a bear hug & then boasted abt it which was rather sweet. Taozi also invited a female staff of Windows Vista to come onstage. I think she was responsible for organising the launch. She said that when she was looking for suitable singers for the concert, David came to mind cos when schooling in Canada, she kept listening to his albums during a breakup. David sang a few lines of Close To You for her. Altho she was quite calm & controlled onstage, she got quite emotional when she got off the stage & had to be comforted by her friends. Actually I am still not sure whether she is a devoted fan or just overwhelmed by the occasion.
Then to show off features of Window Vista they showed all the various DT fansites on the big computer screen as well as pixs of David with his international fans. It was vry touching & so like David to choose something that will please his fans rather than family pixs or something like that. When Taozi cried out that his fans were mostly female, David quickly said there are male fans too ^__^ I always adore this side of him who realistically refused to play up his idol status. He knows vry well that the majority of his fans love him for his talents, his voice, his personality & most of all, his music. While singing I Love You, David went offstage & was really good abt shaking hands from one side to the other. He seemed all rite when singing Marry Me Today with Jolin & the little kiddies so maybe just my imagination that he looked uneasy. He sang 'Vista in the house' only once altho the media claimed that he changed his lyrics blatantly for the promotion >"< But it was just so good to see him on the stage again & looking so mesmerising *__*

Concert vids online

MSN has posted heaps of vids from WOW concert, watch here! So glad u watched the concert online M.A your english is vry good so dun worry ^__^ Welcome to blog! Sukyee, yeah that song sometimes has this mistake in the title. Thanks for pointing it out. Lynne, dun think he is uncomfortable among kids but those on the stage were really small & they even had minders. Maybe David was afraid they might get outta control & grabbed him or something or maybe I misconstrued his uneasiness. But yeah it was so sweet he gave that girl a spontaneous hug. Found a clip of Marry me today during Hito award nite @ youtube:

David will be flying to China on 02/14 I guess for Spring Festival Gala rehearsal. Apparently during Hito & WOW he was having a cold & nursing a sore throat. Hope he has recovered now with some rest & can give his best during CNY. Actually dun have time to watch any of the clips yet so dun know how his cold had affected his performance but for sure he always tried to give his best. David 加油 *__*

DT in Spring

Apparently the 'kissing incident' during WOW concert was greatly exaggerated by the media. Oh well for sure lots wanted to kiss him on that nite ^__^ Replying to Lynne, the response was great but it wasn't a real concert as such cos there were heaps of MS promo activities going on as well as can be seen from below news clips posted @ youtube:

Short writeup on the annual CCTV Spring Festival Gala where David & Jolin will be performing again this mth.
Spring festival gala holds run-through
www.chinaview.cn 2007-02-06 09:42:17
BEIJING, Feb. 6 -- With the Chinese or lunar New Year just around the corner, the annual CCTV Spring Festival Gala conducted its first complete rehearsal Monday night.
Star Daily reports ten programs, including crosstalk and comic skits, went through run-throughs; however, all of the singers from Hong Kong and Taiwan have yet to rehearse with the full show at this time.
This year's gala will last four hours, under the theme "Happy and Harmonious Chinese Year."
Most of the pop stars from Hong Kong and Taiwan will get together to perform during the singing session "Popular Winds," which targets younger audiences.
Angela Cheung from Taiwan, A Niu from Malaysia, Joey Yung from Hong Kong and Han Xue from the Chinese mainland will each sing a song during the show. David Tao and Jolin Tsai from Taiwan will perform a duet called "I Will Marry You Tomorrow."
Celebrated Chinese comedian Zhao Benshan and his partner Song Dandan, along with crosstalk artist Niu Qun, will join together this year for a sketch at the gala.
China's Central Television Station first held and broadcasted its Spring Festival Gala on (lunar) New Year's Eve 1983. Since then, the annual gala has become a major program for Chinese people and overseas Chinese to celebrate the lunar New Year.
The eve of this year's Spring Festival falls on February 17th.

Find it funny that they specifically mentioned the song that David & Jolin will be singing. Seems that both WOW concert & Hito Award will be telecast on Azio on 2/10 & 2/11 respectively. Will update the time if confirmed.

Our lucky idol :)

Not a lot of pixs of WOW concert & only small ones but apparently it was more a Windows Vista promo with the product displayed prominently on the stage & a lucky draw at the end. Even the MAN himself, Bill Gates, send his greeting via VCR. But still its a smart move to target the Asian market with this new enhanced for multimedia OS considering the high volume of usage for watching media on computers here. Also this concert can be watched online on 2/7 here at 11.00am TW time but not sure abt the details.
Watch TVBS news clip of the concert & David was not at his absolute best but still sounded good singing Who do you love. Lots of little tots were onstage when they sang Marry me today & for some reason, David looked uneasy & he totally forgot the lyrics & even missed some notes. It was cute cos Jolin was laughing at him. Can only guess maybe he felt that the kids were inappropriate for the song or something but anyway I forgive him cos he looked devilishly cute in that wicked tee ^__^ He asked a girl fan to come on stage when he sang Susan Said & she did not waste the opportunity to steal a kiss! Celine oh Celine you have missed your chance haha *__* Anyway his record for getting molested onstage continued ...
This pix which I 'borrowed' from TW fanclub 喆迷天堂 could explain why. Just wanna show those chinese challenged who are unable to log into the Chinese Yahoo grp. Don't he look just extra delicious? Really prefer him in casual clothes. This was during rehearsal for Hito awards. Love the sunnies too. So can see why he is always being forcibly kissed :P just too irresistible <333333333 (Pix credit & much thanks to 喆迷天堂)
Like to give a shoutout to 喆迷天堂 too as altho this TW fanclub just recently set up but they really go all out to support David. They always manage to get the latest info abt his appearances both live & on TV in TW, & will always arrange to go & support him wearing their club tees which are beautifully designed. In fact all his fanclubs in TW, HK, Spore, Msia & China are so supportive. He is really such a lucky guy but who ask him to be our idol ^__^

WOW & Hito

Only 1 pix so far from WOW concert, they looked so sweet altho his tee is quite scary ^__^ Hopefully there will be more pixs soon. The concert was vry successful with both David & Jolin saying 7 songs each but it sounded like quite a short concert with just 15 songs including Marry me today. David was so high that he even came down the stage to shake hands. A few of his international fans attended. I think he sang mostly with backing track or strumming a guitar as no mention of his normal band mbrs.
The evening before he also sang Marry me today with Jolin @ Hito Awards. He picked up 4 for Best Composer, Best Producer, Top 10 songs & Most Favorite Hito Song. After accepting his awards, David cheekily said that since he has never won for Best Lyrics, he hope he can win this award in the future.
Must say again they really have good chemistry: look good on pixs as well as live together. Probably cos they dun have the pressure of being romantically linked. They will be singing Marry me today for a third time this month -- during CNY in Beijing.
Not too crazy abt his outfit @ Hito Awards but so far he looked great in most of his appearances. For sure most entertainment news will have clips of the award show & concert. David hasn't left a msg for us for so long, hope he can do so soon to update on his activities esp abt his movie & how his script is shaping up.

David the son

Gorgeous DT expressions. He looks so young & happy with Papa & Mama Tao. During the Vista event, he looked a bit haggard but with his parents, his face just comes alive. More pixs here
Touching moment with his mom, he really wears his heart on his sleeves *swoon* Although he always claimed that his relationship with his dad is better than his mom, you can tell he loves her vry much. It has always been an Asian habit to put the mother image on a pedestal. Like when a chinese woman becomes a mother, she suddenly becomes this paragon of goodness. It dun always happen that way & a rather simplistic view of motherhood. Like in the Curse of the Golden Flower, ppl just groaned at the idea that a chinese general would sacrifice thousand of lives for his mother. That's not filial piety my dear Zhang Yimou, that's stupidity. Still shudder when thinking that he will be responsible for the Beijing Olympic >"<
Anyway back to David ^__^ When he explained why he wrote Catherine in The Great Leap & that he wanted to represent another side of being a mother, I felt he was rather courageous & honest to attack this traditional view of motherhood in the chinese eyes. So when I get disheartened at chinese directors only representing traditional, simplistic, stereotyped views of Chinese values to the world, at least there is still a David Tao to counteract *__* My idol, my idol <3333333

All in the family

David & his dad with Wang Fu Rong 王復蓉 who will be performing in Beijing opera 穆桂英掛帥 from 3/16 to 18. It has been a long time since David's mom perform so it was vry special. She jokingly told the 'boys' to sit far away from the stage as one is critical & the other will keep laughing making her vry frustrated. More pixs here -- really nice to see the 3 of them together.
David in happy turquoise mood ^__^ Also seems to be wearing a diff watch but still vry distinctive on him. His dad was vry sweet when he talked abt his wife, saying that she was willing to sacrifice her glamorous life as a famous opera singer to marry a poor man like himself. Her family objected to their marriage & they actually had to elope to HK where David was born. Such a romantic love story, maybe the reason David is still single cos he is searching for the same kind of romance. Dear David, hope he find it soon.
Watch vry yummy David in Windows Vista media event here or here *__* He looked mischievious when he mentioned that he was not in touch with Jolin as she had not been on MSN lately. I think maybe he was refering to a news item recently where Stanley Huang was visiting EMI offices & happened upon a computer where David MSN was on. Stanley typed 'DT in the house' only to have David logging off. He yelled out that he should have typed 'Jolin in the house'! So our Dave has the habit of MSNing when online ^__~
David will be writing & producing for new boyband Gogoclub 兄弟联 in China. Think its only 1 or 2 songs not the whole album as he will not have the time if he gonna be filming & holding concerts. Still not too sure abt the concerts as it will has to be a whole new concept as he just held his last Love Can concert in KL. Anyway still early to tell & for sure I will update once there is confirmation. Gogoclub is a new group formed of 4 members from a popular singing contest televised in China where David was invited to be a guest. I guess they must have been signed up by EMI since David is working with them. This will be the second time David work with a boyband & while I am looking forward to the co-operation but what abt Tension? Also sry to say but the name Gogoclub sounds rather iffy >"< altho their chinese name is much better.
Wow all of sudden so much news abt David. Good to see him back with so many projects on hand. He will probably spend Lunar New Year in China as he is one of the performers in 大陸春晚 which should make his parents vry proud as they are still quite traditional. I feel this family is so rare in the entertainment world where the parents are still active doing what they love & so supportive of one another. Dysfunctional families are vry much the trend today what with the success of Little Miss Sunshine but I think the Tao family sets a very good example of ole fashioned family values.
