Saw the Hennessy Artistry promo again, also brief interview in english *__* Must be after filming as David was wearing the same clothes & in the same location. I think he said that it was the first time for him participating in this kinda event. Should be great experience for him. Kanye West was featured in the NY event & Hennessy is also sponsor for his HK concert with Edison Chen opening for him. That cutie really is flying high in his career!
Found this @ youtube -- classical trio playing Marry me today instrumental. What is it abt this song? *scratch head* I mean I like it but he has a lot of better songs, including those he wrote for others. Like the marvellous High High High for one & only A-Mei. Been looking for the mv & found it at last. Surprised that he wrote the lyrics for it as well.
Also found One night stand mv & he wrote the lyrics for this song too. A-Mei looked fabulous here.
This is probably my fav song he wrote for A-Mei & he co-wrote the lyrics - live version of Innocent Generation.

Story of a song
Managed to catch the Hennessy promo again & its really so enjoyable, David just looks incredibly good. Not really cm as there is no product shot so more a promo. Also noticed that his guitar strap is Levys yin yang design. Looks vry distinctive & goes with his name Tao ^__^ Yeah kinda noticed little details like that cos erm not much news on him at the moment heehee Well there was some news of a Taiwanese mayor's wife who suffered substantial injuries in an accident & cos she was listening to Marry me today in the car which is also her fav song, her family included the song in the tape they played to her constantly to help her recover consciousness. She has apparently regained consciousness but not to give too much credit to David's song, cos it was the brave effort of her family & the expert medical help she received. So much prayers & hope she continued to recover.
Anyway just wanna to point out how crazy this duet which is just a sweet little song written by David, not really great but it has such remarkable life of its own. It has already been sung in 4 concerts by diff ppl from the original singers David & Jolin to Karen Mok, Kewei & Jacky Wu. The girl featured in the mv was noted for her strong resemblance to Patty Hou & she has received other assignments cos of this. The elephant motif tee featured in the mv has become trendy. David said that he hoped ppl of all ages will like the song but he did not expect even the 2-yr-old daughter of his friend likes it & now in some small way, it helped a seriously injuired woman in her 50s cos she too likes the song. Maybe David should write more duets *__* No, not really, he will never try to write songs to achieve greatness, they just did it on their own if that makes sense.

Very cool David
Watch the Making of Hennessy Artistry & it was Machi & other TW acts, but they did show David cm at the end. It was really vry cool & David just way too gorgeous. It was shot in kinda sepia to reflect like old times. Old man turn on radio for the intro of Tai Mei Li, then David walks down street with black guitar slung on his back *swoon* Shop with many old clocks & 2 old men play chess at the entrance while outside David strums his guitar & sings a few lines of Olia <3<3<3 ^__^ Voiceover of David talking abt passing of time in his cute Mandarin with that slightly overseas Chinese accent - he tries hard to speak proper Chinese but just can't get rid of his cute accent *__* Dressed casually in his usual jeans, white tee & black jacket. Last shot of him sauntering slowly forward but not looking into the camera, he is just soooooooooooooooo dreamy & yummy *heart stop*
Fantastic ad! Hope somebody will post it up soon. Answering to Tracy, think David has 2 bikes, both Italian - Ducati & MV Agusta, & he said he has 7 cars. He mentioned some of them in his msgs. I remembered he bought a Ford Mustang in an online auction & I believed the BMW he drove in Runaway mv is his. He also wanted to buy a Ferrari but not sure if he bought it.

DT in LA
David in LA at the moment on 10 days leave. Even though its short, he is happy to spend time with his pet dog & all his beloved cars. He will be back end of Nov to rehearse for the Hennessy Artistry Tour in Shanghai. David will be performing for 45 mins & I think with a live band. MTV Cable 51 has ongoing updates on this event, there is Making of Hennessy Artistry @ 12pm on 11/25 & 1am on 11/26. Info thks to beachgurl ^__^ Not sure if both will feature David though but maybe can catch the cool ad. Updated Ultrasound Interactive with 2007 calendar & Melody singing Love not there if u want this song. I really like it. The calendar is CD sized so just pop into an old case to serve 2 purposes - DT photo album & calendar. I will try to do Tension soon. Kinda strange English review on Beautiful. Love Can HK concert dvd already available in Spore woohoo *__*

No unplugged concert
According to TW fanclub, David will not be holding his unplugged concert this year. But he may be appearing in a charity concert in Shanghai on 12/23. Apparently Jacky Wu who was 1 of the many guests in Jolin's 3-day concert in Taipei sang Marry me today with her & also changing the rap to blatant mention of Jay Chou. Jolin was vry good abt it though. Jacky has been heavily promoting his new protege, Evan Yo. Saw his mvs a couple of times cos on constant mtv rotation & basically he is no different from the many fresh new male talents from Taiwan. They can sing a little, play a couple of instruments & usually can write some songs & lyrics. What they lack is personality & a sense of direction. Also vocal training & voice projection.
Was reading the imdb review on Curse of the Golden Flower & kinda expected it. Saw some trailers & strangely, the storming of the Summer Palace come to mind. Probably cos the extravagant interiors, colors & costumes are more reminscent of the Qing Dynasty, Forbidden City & all that. This kinda annoys me, ok, a movie dun have to be that historically correct but it just perpetuates the myth that the ancient Chinese loved glitter & gaudy things *sigh* As someone pointed out after watching Curse, kinda disconcerting that Zhang Yimou is responsible for the opening & closing ceremonies of Beijing Olympics 2008 >"< No wonder they got Steven Spielberg as consultant but will he be able to tone down Zhang's excesses ^__^

Pirates & fame
Our Dave looks so adorable, he just has this presence on stage. Pix credit much thanks to Rachel who send to me. Watch Beautiful mv dvd & find it alrite, there was a slight jumping on Rain Phii but not too bad. Runaway was ok, also the mv itself supposed to be like handheld filming so there's the occasional jerking. This is not pirated taking the meaning of 'pirated' as releasing any cd/vcd/dvd without approval/knowledge from the singer & his record company & not paying any copyright. My understanding of 'parallel imports' is this: the company releasing the cd/vcd/dvd will pay lump sum for copyright to the singer or recording company which approved the release for China ONLY. I can only assume the trade agreement between China & Singapore also approves the sale of this kind of copyright. But whatever the reason, these China releases can be legally sold in Singapore. I believe there was a article abt how these 'parallel imports' are hurting the local recording companies cos they are not so expensive. As uber fan, I want to collect every legal release by David from any country which is why I bought this dvd. But unless you haven't seen the mvs, then this dvd is not really good value if you only want his new mvs as there are only 3.
Found this interesting news item @ youtube - David & Jay rehearsing for Jay's concert where David was guest not sure when as not really interested to go find out. Just find it rather sweet that David really hasn't changed all that much, still as talkative & jokey. Jay ... oh well since I am never his fan, I will not comment. Guess its true that sometimes too much fame & money can change you & not always for the better. David is not immune to such influence of cos which could be why he ran away to LA after his first album brought him so much attention. Maybe he wasn't just running away from the spotlight but also from himself. A lot of songs in his 2nd album I'm OK seemed to be written to remind himself to be humble & be thankful for what he has: Rain, I'm OK, Smaltown girl, Different, Circus. People always say he is 'underrated' which I think they meant he is not as famous as he should be for all his enormous talents. I feel he is comfortable with his level of fame, it gives him the freedom to do the music he wants to do & spread his message of love & peace sincerely to those who want to hear it.

New tagboard
A big thank you to Reb for pinpointing that it was the shoutbox generating all the popups not Blogger, no wonder they were ignoring my mad ranting >"< Actually the shoutbox did cross my mind cos it was refreshing not the blog but sry rather preoccupied these days my mind is not working well. Anyway got a new tagboard now, hopefully it will not generate popups as well but if anyone is getting virus alert plse let me know asap so I can get rid of it immediately. I apologise to those who may have got unwanted programs or trojans installed on yr computer cos of visiting my blog. But you guys so enjoy chatting that I like to have a board here. Hopefully Blogger will not force me to put Adsense here cos I already signed up for it *sigh* Anyway hope the new tagboard works well, but at least dun have to move ^__^

Global David
David doing his pointy thing & looking goofy but still gorgeous ^__^ More yummy Wild Day Out pixs (link courtesy Yumiko blog & ent-magazine.net). English writeup abt Hennessey Global Artistry Tour: "... the conclusion of the China tour is a concert of epic proportions over at the Pudong Expo site on December 2nd ... The bill covers superstars from David Tao to Sky Nellor, to Juliette & the Licks of Oscar-nominated actress Juliette Lewis fame." Sounds wildly exciting! Some sobering news abt bustup of website for illegal music dl which included Tai Mei Li. Trouble is too many of them available online & not all chinese either >"<
Popular mainland singer Sun Nan will cover other singers' songs including David's during his Dec concert in Shenzhen. Another act covering David's songs is Walking on Water - Singapore's only all-female R&B-Gospel-Pop-Band. So watch out for their nxt performance. Some helpful fan has posted on TW Yahoo grp that the song David wrote for Melody is the ending theme for idol series Scissors stone paper or Game of love. Vid & lyrics posted here (Info credit TW Yahoo grp) This is a recently filmed TV series so now not sure when he wrote the song. Also think he sang the background vocals which could mean he produced the song but dun wanna start any rumor here *__*

New DT releases
Got the China/import version of Beautiful, much thanks to msg from Beautiful dvd on shoutbox for yr info. Quite a large box containing the cd in a normal plastic case, lyrics booklet and a rather cool Sony Ericson neckstrap. Not bad value for S$17.90, but probably can get lower price if u shop around. Only diff in the cd is the bonus track of Honda Civic cm song which is nice as I like both versions. No sign of Beautiful mv dvd so will try another cd shop later.
David got round the ban on one of the offending words in the lyrics of I don't wanna know in a rather creative way ^__~ As for the other chinese word, not sure of the meaning. Maybe some chinese expert can tell us.

Concert @ Hubei
Pixs from Hubei concert on 11/11. Can see he always strive to give his best, just gorgeous *__* David sang Can't get you outta my head, Who do you love, Smalltown girl & Susan said. He flew in the night before vry late around 11pm but his China fans still waited for him, singing Love Can to welcome him. A male fan even rushed up to embrace him ^__^ David also attended another concert on 11/10, not much news abt that one except it kinda starred almost the same singers like Stefanie Sun & Guang Liang.
Apparently the Hennessy Artistry @ Shanghai on 12/2 will be quite a big affair & TW fans already organising trip to go & attend *gasp* such devotion is good to see but then David is worth it ^__~ Not sure if it will be David's last concert in Asia or whether he will stick around for year end concerts. He must be missing Lucky & LA vry much & hoping to wrap up his activities so he can go back *sob* Already missing him cos probably not much news on him nxt yr while he is preparing movie script. Some more Wild day out @ youtube:

David Forever
Not much news abt the Wuhan concert except for intense media speculation whether Nic Tse will appear on stage with his wife Cecilia *sigh* There was news that David will sing Marry me today but with who? Jolin will not be there, but I think just media speculation again as David would not have time to rehearse with his duet partner. Talking abt partner, did u know that David wrote a song for Melody, his ex gf? Thanks & credit to Perfect David TW yahoo grp for posting the link to youtube vid. Its the ending song to some TW idol series, not sure which & when it was released as I seldom watch them.
If u know chinese, can read the credits that David wrote the song & WaWa the lyrics. Called Love Not There, its a melancholy, slightly r&b ballad sang well by Melody. I really like it & once again admire the couple's low-keyed approach after their breakup. I really hope the media try & respect David's silence on his personal affairs & not blow up something outta nothing from his casual meetings & meals with friends. He is a musician, pay attention to the songs he write & you can probably find out more abt his life then following him like a dog. Translated Forever as the chinese title is a bit similar to the song he wrote for Melody. Maybe there's a link or maybe not. You decide :P
Forever
Quickly stop the rotation of time
When we meet again
Which expression is suitable to conceal
That I still love you so deeply
Please don't give me another glance
Please don't test my real feelings
I'm afraid that I cannot control
My devotion for you again
Even your back to me is just as gentle
Don't love, I turn and leave
Alone, casting aside memories
Don't love, the future is bleak
You hate me, don't be weak
I will not suffer
Don't allow our reluctance
To marr the beauty of departure
Impossible to replay this hopeless love
We treated each other sincerely
Don't love and so I leave
Alone, burdened by loneliness
Don't love, enduring this pain
I love you forever, but I cannot speak
Don't love, I turn and leave
Alone, I learn to endure
Don't love, bearing this pain
I love you forever, I smile and leave
I love you forever, and like this, I don't love

David & Paco
Marry me today has been topping the charts in China for a while now. Dun understand why this song is so popular considering a lot of ppl sneered at it for all sorta reason, mainly the 'in the house' rap. If the rap is removed, this song will lose a lot of the fun element which is probably what makes it so popular. Still nice that the first duet in David's album is so successful.
Vry interesting article where Paco talked abt co-operating with David (link credit DTFC). It seemed Paco has admired David before he came to HK to stage his first concert. Paco said that David "changed the music market in Taiwan & inspired others to develop their own style. David also made it difficult for HK singers to become successful in TW unless they are very good." High praise from this music veteran. Paco also said that when he wanted to stage David's first series of concerts in HK, the late Anita Mui advised against him as she felt that Paco did not handled the production of Andy Hui's concerts very well.
When Paco watched Soul Power concert, he was extremely impressed and more determined to stage David's next concerts in HK. I guess he must have convinced David as Love Can concerts were indeed under Paco's production. Paco also said that he would try & help David realised his director's dream. Paco is vry influential in HK & with Peter Chan, David should be able to get extremely good support for his first movie ^__^

A voice on David
Vry interesting blog review of KL concert, high praise considering the guy not even a DT fan. Love the Andy Warhol inspired montage of David's expressions, vry cool. Also another to fall under Kewei's spell ^__^ Found 2 more vids of Wild day out, complete version of David singing Can't get you outta my mind & short clip of Black Tangerine. The 2nd clip just awesome as it was taken from quite a distance & can't hardly heard the music but David's voice ring out so clear & strong. He is not shouting or even raising his voice, just singing ... amazing. David is not perfect, he is not goodlooking, he can be arrogant & probably not the best boyfriend, he has many faults. But when he is healthy & in good condition, his voice is quite simply a gift from God.

Ghost, marry me today :)
Ghost
I want to ask if you believe in this world
There's an unknown dimension in front of you
Ambushing you from all directions
But you're unclear from where, position always changing
From both left and right, you're looking for clues
A moment in front, suddenly at the back
They're pacing endlessly
Patiently waiting for the day to slowly turn dark
No matter how tired you're feeling
You must never ever let yourself sleep
Ghosts, they're ghosts
Ghosts, ghosts, all are ghosts
Hey hey you can't sleep
Hey they're the undying ghosts
Who is pressing down so you gasp for breath
Everyday in the subway there is a crowd of people
Pretending to be commuters following you
Do you understand?
The footsteps are getting closer and closer
Do you feel an icy black hand leaving prints on your body but with no pain
They're at your right, also on your left
They need not appear, they're in front of you
They're pacing endlessly
Patiently waiting for the day to slowly turn dark
No matter how tired you're feeling
You must never ever let yourself sleep
Ghosts, they're ghosts
Ghosts, ghosts, a horde of ghosts
Ghosts - a mob of undying ghosts
They're advancing with no retreat
Step by step they're chasing you
When you discover your eyeballs are turning black
You may have already become a ghost yourself
Aw you're a ghost
Come on you're a ghost, you're a ghost
Yeah unknowingly you turn into an undying ghost
They're advancing without retreating
Step by step they're chasing you
Wait until you're out of breath
Wait until you'll say never mind
Ghost, you're a ghost
Ghosts, a horde of ghosts
Ghosts - a mob of undying ghosts, ghosts
If you have a ghost inside
Who and who cannot be considered the same kind
Your blood in the dark is poisoned
Actually who's really afraid of who
Aw you're a ghost
Come on you're a ghost, you're a ghost
Yeah really are you afraid of people
Or should you be afraid of ghost, ghost

Marry Me Today
(David)
The flowering of warm spring
Took away the pain of winter
A gentle breeze with romance in the air
Every love song is suddenly full of meaning
At that moment I saw you unexpectedly
(Jolin)
The fragrance of warm spring
Took away the chill of winter
The singing of the birds brought us closer
At that moment I fell in love with you suddenly
(Both)
Listen to me, holding hands, follow me
Creating a happy life
Yesterday is too late, tomorrow full of regrets
Marry me today
Jolin In The House DT In The House
Our Love In The House Sweet Sweet Love
(David)
The summer heat chase away languid spring
The sun shines into a perfect home
Every love song brings recollection
Remembering how I got acquainted with you
(Jolin)
The winter grief follows the loneliness of autumn
A gentle breeze with bittersweet memories
(David: I'm missing you)
The birds are singing not to leave
At that moment I long to give you a hug
(Both)
Listen to me, holding hands, follow me
To live a comfortable life
Yesterday is too late, tomorrow full of regrets
Marry me today
Listen to me, holding hands, walking together
Entrust your life to me
Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is forever
Marry me today
(David)
Hey Hey Uh Uh ding dong
Listen to the church bells ringing
In front of God, relatives and friends as witnesses
This pair is going to become husband and wife
Never forget all these is extremely sacred
Are you willing to be with her forever
Through life, death, hardship and happiness
Love her, respect her, console her, protect her
Two person with the same heart
Setting up a perfect home
Are you willing to do this? Yes I do
(Both)
Listen to me, holding hands, walking to the end
Entrust your life to me
Yesterday is history, tomorrow more recollections
Marry me today, marry me today, marry me today

Ghosts, ghosts, all are ghosts
Hey hey you can't sleep
Hey they're the undying ghosts
Who is pressing down so you gasp for breath
Everyday in the subway there is a crowd of people
Pretending to be commuters following you
Do you understand?
The footsteps are getting closer and closer
Do you feel an icy black hand leaving prints on your body but with no pain
They're at your right, also on your left
They need not appear, they're in front of you
They're pacing endlessly
Patiently waiting for the day to slowly turn dark
No matter how tired you're feeling
You must never ever let yourself sleep
Ghosts, they're ghosts
Ghosts, ghosts, a horde of ghosts
Ghosts - a mob of undying ghosts
They're advancing with no retreat
Step by step they're chasing you
When you discover your eyeballs are turning black
You may have already become a ghost yourself
Aw you're a ghost
Come on you're a ghost, you're a ghost
Yeah unknowingly you turn into an undying ghost
They're advancing without retreating
Step by step they're chasing you
Wait until you're out of breath
Wait until you'll say never mind
Ghost, you're a ghost
Ghosts, a horde of ghosts
Ghosts - a mob of undying ghosts, ghosts
If you have a ghost inside
Who and who cannot be considered the same kind
Your blood in the dark is poisoned
Actually who's really afraid of who
Aw you're a ghost
Come on you're a ghost, you're a ghost
Yeah really are you afraid of people
Or should you be afraid of ghost, ghost

Marry Me Today
(David)
The flowering of warm spring
Took away the pain of winter
A gentle breeze with romance in the air
Every love song is suddenly full of meaning
At that moment I saw you unexpectedly
(Jolin)
The fragrance of warm spring
Took away the chill of winter
The singing of the birds brought us closer
At that moment I fell in love with you suddenly
(Both)
Listen to me, holding hands, follow me
Creating a happy life
Yesterday is too late, tomorrow full of regrets
Marry me today
Jolin In The House DT In The House
Our Love In The House Sweet Sweet Love
(David)
The summer heat chase away languid spring
The sun shines into a perfect home
Every love song brings recollection
Remembering how I got acquainted with you
(Jolin)
The winter grief follows the loneliness of autumn
A gentle breeze with bittersweet memories
(David: I'm missing you)
The birds are singing not to leave
At that moment I long to give you a hug
(Both)
Listen to me, holding hands, follow me
To live a comfortable life
Yesterday is too late, tomorrow full of regrets
Marry me today
Listen to me, holding hands, walking together
Entrust your life to me
Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is forever
Marry me today
(David)
Hey Hey Uh Uh ding dong
Listen to the church bells ringing
In front of God, relatives and friends as witnesses
This pair is going to become husband and wife
Never forget all these is extremely sacred
Are you willing to be with her forever
Through life, death, hardship and happiness
Love her, respect her, console her, protect her
Two person with the same heart
Setting up a perfect home
Are you willing to do this? Yes I do
(Both)
Listen to me, holding hands, walking to the end
Entrust your life to me
Yesterday is history, tomorrow more recollections
Marry me today, marry me today, marry me today

Too Beautiful
Each drop of tear, each broken heart
What love can be without sorrow or regret
Patiently waiting, enduring the pain
Your love is resolute, never retreating
I know I am not someone who can easily talk about love
Never thought that someone like you can change me
Too beautiful, too beautiful
Your love is so very sweet
Too beautiful, love let me be beautiful ... oh
Now I don't have any doubts
Any doubts I love you so much
Every footprint, every black cloud
Express my wavering intention ... yeah
Hurt you and hurt so deeply
Others will have given up by now
Why do you still show me tolerance
I know I am not someone who can easily talk about love
But your selfless sacrifice has changed me
Too beautiful, too beautiful
Your love is so very sweet
Too beautiful, love let me be beautiful ... oh
Now there is no need for you to have any doubts
When you walk in the storm with no destination
When I am lost in my own whirlpool
Meeting in the darkness
We will shine with new light
Now I understand completely
The real meaning of love
Too beautiful, too beautiful
Your love let life become sweet
Too beautiful, I will always appreciate you
Seeing beyond your surface, your beautiful heart
You are the most beautiful, too beautiful

Finally
Just that glance in an overflowing street
Brushing past you, slightly confused I turned back
She has discovered, my heart is not there
I still have no way of explaining who has messed up my life
What can I do to erase all my memories
Looking for past happiness, I stumbled and got lost
Meeting you is like deja vu ... oh
It seems there is similar feeling in your eyes
Is there a way to meet again?
Can I get to know you again?
Deja vu is like a game
Just that glance and I am sinking into your world
Brushing past you, I have forgotten where I am heading
She can feel that my heart is no longer there
How can I explain that it is you who has messed up my life
What can I do to erase all my memories
Looking for past happiness, I stumbled and got lost
Meeting you is like deja vu ... oh
It seems there is similar feeling in your eyes
Is there a way to meet again?
Can I get to know you again?
Deja vu is like a game
Meeting you is like deja vu ... oh
Is it because we knew each other in another life
Is there a way to change fate?
Is there a way to let me really love you?
Or let's not mention the past again
Meeting you is like deja vu ... oh
Is it because we knew each other in another life
Can you help me forget you?
Can you help me stop seeking you?
Or let me not think about you
Meeting you is like deja vu
Meeting you is like deja vu

To live or not
Thanks to jk for yr comment regarding David's performance in Wild Day Out. Actually David was very aware that he should have performed with a live band not backing track for this event. When he came out, he told the audience that the next time he will definitely bring his own band. More details here, but sometimes its difficult for a solo singer to sing with a band as they will have to book a band & practise with them in advance. At least he will never in a million years embarrassed himself like Fahrenheit whose tape malfunctioned revealing they were lipsynching & forcing them to sing accapella which was properly not a pleasant experience for the audience cos Tension they definitely are not >"< however since they are the current flavor of the mth, their adoring girlie fans are not that discerning. In the interview afterwards, they said they will work harder on their live performance. But shouldn't they have already worked on their live performance? This is such an old excuse for idol groups launched mainly for their good looks. By the time they worked on their live singing, they would have been replaced by the next flavor of the mth. Tension, oh Tension, plse come back soon *sob*
David was asked abt this incident but he politely said that since he was still in his car, he did not watch their performance. But he did mentioned that some of Fahrenheit's songs were written by his company which I think is New Chinese Songs Ltd. He was also asked whether he would visit Lydia Shum who was hospitalised recently but was actually discharged today. David said that he was aware of her condition but since she is still vry weak, he will not disturb her. When asked whether he will help her daughter, Joyce Cheng to become a successful singer, David said he has not heard her sing but he will help if he can. He believed if Joyce is like her mother, then she can be successful.

Groovy David
2 nice pixs of David @ Wild Day Out. Like his outfit, vry groovy. Found another I love you vid where can see more of David. U guys can continue to use the shoutbox but there is no archive so whatever you post will disappear in a matter of time. Msn is nice & cosy of cos but kinda restrictive. Forum is of cos the best but for some reason DT fans are always so reluctant to post. During the Music on Fire interview, David said he prefers passionate fans to shy & quiet. BTW, Jessie if u r reading, he mentioned the 'crazy fan in Singapore' who gave him a bear hug ^__^ He said you are a 'small bear' *__*

Wild Day Out
Some youtube vids of Wild Day Out in HK yesterday already posted. Just the ending bit & can hardly see David, just fireworks. But still can heard his fantastic, familiar voice & I am satisfied. Apparently he was the last performer & sang 4 songs - Wang Bu Liao, Tai Mei Li, Black Tangerine & the always so perfect ending song I Love You. There should be news tomorrow on tvb & hopefully some pixs & more vids ^__^

Protecting David
David is one of the performers for a large-scale concert in Wuhan on 11/12 along with Wubai & Lou Dayou. Second part of tvb news clip 4 in list on 2006-11-02. David having a great time with his fans after the KL concert, look out for the last part where he spoke english to his non-Asian fan from HK ^__^ Thanks to Jane for following on shoutbox:
Have been following closely on the promotional tours and radio programmes featuring David and thought that you guys might be interested (if you guys have not known it already). He will be featured as the November star of ?Xing Ching? which will be aired on Malaysian radio station 988 (website: www.988.com.my) at 11.00pm every Monday during the month of November and can listen online. The repeat telecast will be on every Sunday at 6.00pm. David will be sharing with us his childhood, record production and love etc!
Thanks also to everybody for making the shoutbox so happening *__* will definitely get msn so can chat with u guys. I did had msn but got rid of it recently to free space. Another maddening article on sina.com beating the dead horse abt David's so-called "copying". As far as I am concerned, this is a smear campaign and it certainly does not belong on the most prominent chinese entertainment website. When you labelled somebody a "copycat", you better have proper facts to back it up than just a forum discussion, or else you are just as guilty as those irresponsible photographers who took pixs of Twin's Gillian changing in the dressing room. I take this attack on David's reputation very seriously & will continue to monitor & blog about it so more David fans & anyone reading this blog is aware of this insidious, ugly not to mention illegal form of slander from Sina.com.

The artistry of DT
David will be appearing for Hennessy Artistry with western performers on 12/2 in Shanghai. That's Juliette Lewis the actress if u r wondering ^__^ Tomorrow 11/4 David will be rocking outside in HK for Wild Day Out. Watch the Music on Fire episode & he was so funny when he said he has made such a big deal of filming a movie nxt yr that he has to do it now even if it turns out to be a flop or he will not be able to 'step down the stage'. My only worry is being the perfectionist, he will probably take a longer time than expected to film, he could turn out to be another WKW >"<
Watch TVB news clip here 2 in list on 2006-11-01, vry nice concert wrapup, also more to come on fans gathering. Thanks Andrew again for letting us know abt fixing the lighting problem. David is so lucky that he not only has such marvellous talents working for him on stage but backstage as well.

Concert clips
Agreed with Sukyee, thank you guys for coming out from the closet ^__^ but DT fans are always so shy & quiet. Should be proud to be DT fan cos it shows that you have discerning taste. I was reading reviews of John Legend's new album 'Once Again' & there was such praise for his efforts to bring back vintage soul of the 60s & 70s with a splash of Bacharach.
"I wanted the album to be beautiful," says Legend. "I wanted every line to be well-conceived and well-delivered. I figured that if I write great songs and produce and arrange and sing them as best as I know how, then everything else will fall into place."
Great musicians think alike. This album is very similar to Beautiful but at least the US critics knew & appreciate what Legend was doing. Not 1 chinese critic, well the ones I read, came close to understanding David's fifth studio album from a music history perspective. Sometimes I think David is wasted here but still he is much too precious for me to ignore *__* Anyway linked some more concert clips @ youtubes including Ghost where can see the fabulous lighting by Andrew & co ^__^ This concert is just so vocal & music driven. Just incredible that David can still sound so good & strong rite thru the last song Love Can as if the concert has only begun.

English reviews
Some excellent reviews proving not only his fans rave abt his concerts but David is truly a worthy presence on stage. Many has already expressed their delight at the 'CD quality' of his live singing. The reason is simply because his cd recording is usually with live musicians & not so overly digitalised like 90% of studio albums released now. There are quite a lot of concerts clips being posted @ youtube, so do a search if u wanna watch some. I will post up a few in later posts.
Tao-rrific show
Tuesday October 31, 2006
By MICHAEL CHEANG
David Tao gave an entertaining performance during his recent concert here. Thirty minutes into David Tao’s concert last Saturday, I was prepared to write it off as just another bland and uninspiring pop concert by yet another Taiwanese artiste. At that point, hardly anything that Tao delivered that night at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium could suggest that the concert would be anything different from all the other concerts by his peers, which always tend to be predictably uninspiring, and overloaded with sappy ballads or over-produced pop tunes. Even though he kicked off the show with some pizzazz by literally “descending from the sky”, the first set of songs he sang failed to live up to the dizzying heights of his grand entrance. However, I should have known not to underestimate Tao. After all, he is now one of the most creative and versatile artistes in Taiwan. Judging by last weekend’s concert (which was part of his Love Can World Tour), that moniker is well earned indeed. The first of many surprises that night came after his first costume change. Accompanied by a lone pianist, Tao sang a medley of three jazzy numbers, including the classic Chinese song Ye Lai Xiang. It was only during this segment that Tao’s vocals really began to shine through. From then on, the concert was a much more entertaining affair. Tao is definitely one of the most versatile Asian artistes I’ve seen, managing to switch effortlessly from lounge singer mode to hip hop artiste, rock star, rapper and even dabbled in some Chinese opera at one point.
Not many artistes in the Chinese music industry would be able to display such versatility in the recording studio, let alone live on stage, but Tao did just that. He managed to pull it off effortlessly – switching the mood of the show continuously with ease to include mass pop karaoke sing-alongs with the 12,000-strong crowd, a fiery rock segment and an intimate acoustic session. The show also included one of the best build-ups to a song in a concert this year – featuring a lone flutist and an er hu player juxtaposed against a backdrop of psychedelic colours, a dreamy sequence that set the mood for the rocking riffs of the song Ghost. It also helped that most of Tao’s songs (many of which he composed himself) were pretty memorable, particularly the 9-11 inspired Dear God, the rocking Art of War, the catchy My Anata, and the touching ballad Everyday (which he sang together with a rather deliriously happy member of the audience who couldn’t keep her hands off him). To tell the truth, one of the main reasons why the concert was such an entertaining watch was down to Tao’s interaction with his fellow musicians, which ranged from singing duets and dancing with er hu player-cum-backup vocalist Ke Wei, or rapping with guitarist/backup-vocalist David Tan. Unlike many Chinese pop concerts where the band is usually just backup fodder consigned to the dimmed lights at the back of the stage, Tao’s band of musicians (half of whom were from Malaysia) were a living, breathing part of the show, at times managing to outshine Tao himself. Ultimately, it was Tao’s willingness to let his fellow musicians shine, and that sheer look of joy on his face to be playing music with them that made this concert one of the best Chinese concerts this year; except for the insipid start. The David Tao Love Can World Tour Live in Malaysia concert was presented by Hotlink and organised by Galaxy.

Singer David Tao shares his vision of world peace and caring for the environment at his 'Love Can World Tour 2006' concert
By: John Lee (Tue, 31 Oct 2006)
It was a night where Taiwanese singer-songwriter David Tao Zhe entertained fans with his strong showmanship skills and immense stage presence. He dished out more than 25 hard-hitting Mandarin rock songs, R&B dance tracks and romantic ballads during the three-hour concert, themed Love Can, last Saturday at the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil. More than 12,000 fans turned up, including his ardent supporters from Taiwan, Singapore, Hongkong, China and Japan. Besides writing songs and singing them, Tao is also a conscientious artiste. As he proclaimed at the concert to the appreciative crowd, he's always conscious of his role as a singer - and he wants to share his vision of world peace and love and also help spread the message of caring for the environment. This is because ultimately, he declared, "everyone of us, no matter whether we are - be it in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Taiwan, Hongkong or China - is responsible for the environment and the state of the world". Tao's passion for environmental issues was reflected by the tropical rainforest theme of the stage that featured a moss-covered helicopter sitting amidst a profusion of jungle vines as well as banana and palm trees.
The evening's entertainment kicked off in style with a video screening that showed Tao piloting a malfunctioning helicopter that eventually crashed into a jungle. The video screening ended in a cacophony of smoke and explosive pyrotechnic effects before Tao, hanging in mid-air, was slowly lowered on stage amidst a blinding halo of spotlights. The 37-year-old Tao, dressed in a glittering white sleeveless T-shirt and pants, started the show with the pop-rock song Rain before moving on to the mellow ballad Shanghaied. It was a hot and balmy night with Tao sweating profusely only 20 minutes into the concert. However, that did not stop him from performing energetic dance moves and cajoling the audience to join in the dancing and singing with shouts of "Malaysia! You rock!" and "Come on! Help me out!Let's sing it together!" throughout the concert. There were plenty of loud cheers, whistles and handclaps as fans sang along with Tao on hit ballads like Ai Wo Hai Si Da (Who Do You Love) and Ai Hen Jien Dan (I Love You). The concert featured all his popular songs such as the rock numbers Black Tangerine and Sun Tzu's Art of War as well as Susan Says, a R&B hit with Peking Opera elements. One highlight of the concert was when Tao picked a young girl, Celine, from the audience, to duet with him on the love ballad Close to You. Deafening screams, particularly from female concertgoers, were heard when Celine hugged Tao during the duet.
Entertaining highlights included the eerie bass beats as well as red and blue strobe lights flashing around as Tao performed the rap-rock song Ghost with white masked dancers in black costumes constantly reaching out for him from supine positions on the stage. During the interludes while Tao had a change of costume, the audience was entertained to video clips made by the singer that included a short comic story on the environment and messages of peace, not war, flashing on the screen. Other highlights included a duet with the erhu player and back-up singer Ke Wei on the R&B ballad Marry Me Today and a brief jamming session with guitarists Jamie Wilson, David Tan and percussionist Mat Noor on a medley of Ordinary Friend, 22 and Fated. The high energy concert climaxed with Tao belting out the rock song Bastard and love ballad Love Can. The concert, postponed from a May fixture earlier this year due to injuries suffered by Tao in a motorcycle accident in April, was organised by Galaxy Group and presented by Hotlink.
