When David speaks

Discovery program abt Zhang Hui Mei has been posted @ youtube. The program has english voiceover & David only appeared sporadically but was the only who speaks in english with the cutest accent ^__^ Its not a vry indepth program abt A-mei only skimming her career but vry entertaining. They really should do a full length documentary abt her as A-Mei's story is really worth telling. Maybe David can direct & produce it!
Short writeup abt GMA where David is mentioned. It seemed GMA has invited Jackie Cheung to perform with A-Mei. He will be singing Teresa Deng's songs. Guess it could mean Jackie will get the best male singer award as they could hardly invite the singer god to perform & let him leave emptyhanded.
Ok got the Love Can HK dvd & its quite legit but only for China release. Tiny print at the back stated 'Only for sale in PRC (Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan not included)' So that's why no Shanghaied, Ghost or Bastard. Since its legit & defintely not pirated, not sure if another version will be released for the other countries. Anyway its S$12.90 for dvd & S$9.90 for vcd available at TS outlets. Thanks to phii for the headup.
The image quite good but the sound has not been enhanced like in Soul Power so really need to turn up the volume esp when David is speaking. The good thing is David looks amazingly gorgeous, even more so than in Soul Power which is saying alot. Also included in the dvd is this yummy poster *__*

Walkman cm!

David's Walkman cm now available for download in zip format. Already upload to youtube, watch here or below. The song playing on the promo page also changed to a more jazzy arrangement, love it *__* Posters also appearing in HK busstops. Love his image & hair in the cm & David really knows how to jive man! Also his voice at the end is so sexy even when he is selling phones ^__^ Actually was hoping they make it interactive like the previous Walkman cm where the guy actually came out of the cm & climb all over the promo page. It would be FANTASTIC to have a mini DT climbing all over my screen heehee

The DT Code

David's Walkman billboard in China, pixs taken & credit to DTFC fan, must be such a thrill to see it everyday ^__^ Vry little news abt David cos he is busy producing so must be patient. Have a feeling the new album will be something extra special. Hope ppl will listen with open mind. Was reading msgboard abt the lyrics of The Art of War & one rather learned guy was saying it was written with chinese characters that were used to write poetry so a literal translation is vry difficult. Also if one is able to understand these characters, then the lyrics will be even more meaningful. Unfortunately he nvr did explain further *sigh* would love to understand deeper the meaning of this great song. I love it that David nvr try to explain everything in his album. He does explain a great deal but he also leave alot unexplained for his listeners to explore & discover. Its like trying to unlock the mystery of Mona Lisa - the DT code!
Its been confirmed that Leehom will open nxt mth GMA with his song Heroes rewritten to honor the nominees & retitled Golden Melody Heroes. A-mei will close the show & so the rumored couple can avoid appearing together on stage. Other performers could include Karen Mok, Stanley Huang & Wubai *yeah yeah* David & Stefanie Sun are still unconfirmed if they will perform. Btw Stefanie is now with EMI & it will be great if David write a song for her. I feel she is becoming a better singer, one that concentrates wholeheartedly on her music. Also it would be good if she could get her Mandarin to be as natural as Gary Cao. Anyway here's another Southpark David in his Walkman mode heehee

More Discovery

A-mei fans posted 3rd cm for her Discovery program this Sun. Can see & hear David speaking in english at the beginning - he looks & sounds cool as always ^__~ Pretty sure they will post up the program @ youtube once its broadcast so really looking forward to it. This is a special series abt Taiwanese personalities on Discovery Taiwan. Also Tom article here abt A-mei appearing in Discovery & David among the many musicans who worked with her, said she has explosive vocals.

Hello from David!

David left msg @ davidtao forum *joy* He said he has completed writing all the songs for his new album & will be doing the production for nxt couple of mths. He also posted 3 cute pixs where he play the keyboard & sing in the studio. So looked like his finger recovering to the point where he can play keyboard. His hair is still long & flopping on his face ^__^ He promised to post another detailed report abt his production. Anyway I left msg for him to take care. So nice to see msg from him, really make my day.

5/28 - Discover Zhang Hui Mei

Discovery Taiwan will be featuring Zhang Hui Mei, affectionately known as A-Mei on Sun 5/28 @ 9m & apparently David is 1 of the ppl interviewed. More info here click on pix to launch brief intro but no David. Should be a great program, hope it will taped by A-Mei fans cos love to watch it. She really should be regarded as Taiwan's treasure. Below is her performance @ GHA last yr, the highlight of that lacklustre show. Incredible how versatile she is. She can sing anything & make it sound good. Such a powerful voice yet she controls it so well. This vid really showcase her talents from singing ballads to fast songs back to ballads then a grand finale without missing a beat. No dancers, no outrageous outfit, she just grabbed yr attention from start to finish with her voice. Pure enjoyment just listening to her.

The music of time

Couple of pixs taken by & much thanks to DTFC mbr for those who wanna see more of David in Suzhou. Hands up those who love the Walkman song ^__^ Its really cool & altho the spoken "Yo I call you later" is kinda hackneyed but still works in a cm for cellphone esp when the speaker sounds so sexy heehee I love that he used 3 rather diff styles for his 3 cm songs. They are all such surprises, altho I still hope he dun put any of them into his new album. He could inlcude them as bonus songs I guess but I still want my full 10 new songs :P
Article for fans of Gary Cao & here his blog where he writes in english which is surprising. I thought he is more prone to chinese cos his mandarin sounds very natural. Also I think he is vry attractive, vry man which is more my liking than the 'requisite typical good looks'. Anyway the trend for singer/songwriter is becoming more nerd than hunk surely, look at James Blunt & Daniel Powter. Gary will fit right in.
Just wanna bring something up abt what David said when asked which award he would like to win in GMA. He said "the Best Album award as a recognition of my teamwork with other musicians." I felt so touched that he never forgot to acknowledge the ppl who had worked with or helped him. Like the way he paid homage to Anita Mui during the HK concerts & also in TW concerts he thanked a lot of ppl who helped & supported him. Also re-reading his msg where he talked abt his new album - "Like previous albums, this one will reflect on my life as a diary does for some." I feel he has so much respect for his albums, its not just a product to be marketed to the public. It will not come with new flavours or a spoon for convenience. I am sorry but that's how I feel most Chinese albums are being marketed like instant noodles to be consumed straightaway & discarded. He also apologised for his previous two albums being darker and heavier - "when you look at the scope of somebody’s work everything balances out with one making up for another."
This quote reminded me of Anthony Powell, an English author who wrote a 12-volume work called A Dance to the Music of Time, each volume released in a single book making 12 separate books for 1 splendid complete novel. Somehow it made me feel that David is doing the same thing with his albums ^__^

David's new Walkman song!!!!!!

Clicky
It's really cool, love his voice. Info credit much thanks to ericedison @ DT forum

David gives great hair :P

Walkman promos featuring David now available in China! Pix credit & much thanks to DTFC as ever. Taotally love his look esp his hair ... LOVE HIS HAIR ^__^ so gorgeous. They said @ DTFC that they already saw 1 signboard with his image. Hope nobody steal it :D
To anon in Comments: At the moment, dun seem to be any media for David's performance in Suzhou probably cos it was raining vry heavily that night. Also there had been no confirmation that David would attend. One fan wrote @ DT forum that she used up her tape filming Leehom & other performers not knowing that David would appear at the end. David was apparently vry caring to his fans running all over the stage despite the rain so everybody could see him. 2 fans, male & female, went on stage to give him flowers. The male fan requested for a hug & after hugging him, David said since he hugged the guy he must also hug the girl *_* Also he impressed his listeners & the media with his crystal-clear delivery.
To Angel: I believe Malau is in Taipei not LA.
To Jessie B: Quite like Tank but after a while I find that Gary Cao was a more soothing singer. Tank tends to overpitch a bit & he does sound a bit like David but not that much. Gary's voice is smooth like chocolate, more mature than Tank. Also I feel he puts more emotion into his singing. But no doubt they are 2 of the best Mandarin male singers in the forseeable future.
Just wanna put my last 2 cents towards the asinine debate regarding GMA nominations. First, its just asshole behavior & total disrespect towards the artists who have been nominated. Nobody (apart from David) ever questioned the credibility of GMA in the past, why is this year any different? Its not cos double J did not get any nominations but TW record labels getting shitty. They have been hyping their idol singers so much they felt they own the music industry. They probably forgotten, or try to, that in total the Chinese music industry from TW to HK to China is not even worth half as much as Japan's. Their singers earned more from commercials than releasing albums. So they think popularity & sales should be taken into account? Madonna, probably the most popular & bestselling artist in US, only won a total of 5 Grammies, 2 for videos & none for best singer. Yet nobody ever whined that 'Madonna waz robbed'. SO GET OVER IT ALREADY. Have a bit of class but I think that's asking too much >"<
So to end on a high note, here's a recent vid of David singing Ghost @ HK concert. Just can't get over how he can get the song to sound exactly like the CD. It's not that easy to get a rock song to sound the same live. He is possibly the most amazing musician ever born in the Far East.

David in Suzhou

David @ Suzhou concert last Fri, 5/12 after leaving Sin. He sure get around ^__^ Anyway according to DTFC fan attending, it was raining but miraculously eased when David singing last appeared. Ahhhhh ... the power of David heehee He sang Rain, Susan said, Smalltown girl & I love you. Love the color blue on him altho he seemed to have that star logo tee in many diff colors. Dear David, so happy to see him looking so well, do hope his finger is recovering & back to normal soon. Since he was in China, maybe he stopped in Shanghai to wish his mom Happy Mother's Day? Happy Birthday Malau!

David's cat Malau is already 1 yr old. He is vry cute but living the good life, he put on weight so must go on diet. More pixs @ davidtao.com

This week's shocker

David waving goodbye as he leaves our shore heehee TQ Reb for yr info. Pix credit SGFC, plse visit their forum for more great pixs. He looked fine, put on a bit of weight which is good, hair longer which is even better. Hope he managed to consult specialist abt his finger but think enough rest & sunshine back in LA could be the best cure. The mod @ davidtao.com has revamped the forum again but not so drastic this time. The Chat is now separated into Music & Fanart. Also some rules on what not to post I think, the chinese rather difficult to decipher *sigh* Anyway most english fans have given up posting there but if u guys wanna chat or post up important info, feel free to use blog forum. No need to sign up to post & no rules except for excessive advertising.
Well this week's shocker turned out not to be Jay Chou not nominated for GMA *yawn* but Chris Daughtry out of American Idol! The few times I watched AI, actually had to mute Chris cos it was painful listening to him but still he did had a lot of believers. The funniest was when Andrea Bocelli had to show him how to sing properly by getting him to lie down on the ground. Maybe Jay could lie on the ground & sing to the GMA judges nxt time so they will nominate him (^__^) This article had supposedly critics & producers claiming that this yr the nominations are based on the judges' "own limited musical preferences & not reflective of the masses" *roll eyes* Its like saying since Andrea Bocelli is a tenor singing mostly operatic songs, he is unable to differentiate between a good or bad pop singer. Also its funny they keep saying GMA is so important & yet can anyone remember who won best Mandarin album last yr?

Best male singer in my heart

English article @ Chinapost with english list of nominees. Very interesting & eclectic list, quite glad David is among them. Fanfan is also nominated for Best female singer & was extremely delighted.

David Tao is strong contender at awards
2006/5/9
HONG KONG, AP
Taiwanese singer-songwriter David Tao has emerged as a strong contender in next month's Golden Melody Awards -- one of the most prestigious awards in the Chinese-language music industry.
Tao bagged five nominations, including nods for song of the year, best Mandarin pop album and best Mandarin male singer ahead of the June 10 ceremony in the Taiwanese capital, Taipei.
Tao, known for exploring serious topics, was nominated for his album "The Great Leap 2005." In one track on the album, "Ghost," he examines the oppressiveness of city living.
Tao is also up for best producer and best musical arrangement, according to the nominations, announced over the weekend.
Glaringly absent in the top categories is Taiwan's Jay Chou, one of the Chinese recording industry's biggest acts.
Chou has suffered a losing streak at the Golden Melodies. Last year, he was nominated for best record and best male artist, but he struck out in both categories.
Taiwan's Fang Wenshan was nominated for best lyricist for "Hair Like Snow," from Chou's album last year, "November's Chopin." From the same album is "Blue Storm," which won arranger Hong Jingyao a nomination.
Tao's song of the year nomination is "The Art of War." The other contenders are "Fish that Likes to Dream," sung by Taiwan's Judy Chiang, "Pacific Wind" by Taiwan's Hu Defu and Taiwanese rocker Wu Bai and China Blue's "Made in Taiwan."
In the best male artist category, Tao faces stiff competition in the likes of Hong Kong pop king Jacky Cheung, Taiwanese vocalist Terry Lin, formerly of the pop duo Ukulele, as well as Taiwanese singer-songwriter Leehom Wang.
Singapore's Stefanie Sun will attempt to win a second consecutive best female artist award, but she's nominated in a crowded category that sees her pitted against six other pop stars, including Malaysia's Fish Leong, Singapore's Tanya Chua, Malaysia's Penny Tai and Taiwan's Cheer Chen.
Chen, Tai and Chua are also competing in the best Mandarin album category. Chen's "A Fabulous Adventure," Chua's "Amphibian" and "Tai's "Crazy Love" could snatch bragging rights away from Tao's "The Great Leap 2005."
This year's nominees were drawn from 6,883 entries submitted by 153 record companies, organizers said in a statement.
A list of nominations in key categories for Taiwan's 17th Golden Melody Awards, to be announced June 10 in Taipei:
Song of the year: "Fish that Likes to Dream" from "Fish that Likes to Dream," "Pacific Wind" from "Rush," "Made in Taiwan" from "Double-faced Man," "The Art of War" from "The Great Leap 2005."
Best Mandarin pop record: "Rush" by Hu Defu, "A Fabulous Adventure" by Cheer Chen, "Amphibian' by Tanya Chua, "Crazy Love" by Penny Tai, "The Great Leap 2005" by David Tao.
Best composer: Hu Defu for "Pacific Wind," Michael Kong for "Fairy Tale," Chen Xiaoxia for "13 1/2," Penny Tai for "Crazy Love," Yu Yang for "The Perfect Day."
Best lyricist: Fang Wenshan for "Hair Like Snow," Hu Defu for "Pacific Wind," Wu Bai for "Made in Taiwan," Wu Xiong for "13 1/2," A Guai for "Not Good."
Best producer: Zheng Jieren, Wang Jisan for "Rush," Zhong Chenghu for "A Fabulous Adventure," Tanya Chua for "Amphibian," Penny Tai, Chen Zihong, Huang Yi for "Crazy Love," David Tao for "The Great Leap 2005."
Best male Mandarin singer: Kenju Wu for "The Kenji Show," Jacky Cheung for "Snow Wolf Lake," Terry Lin for "Mature Love Song," Hu Defu for "Rush," David Tao for "The Great Leap 2005," Leehom Wang for "Heroes of Earth."
Best female Mandarin singer: Frankie Wang for "Fengie 2005," Fish Leong for "Silk Road," Cheer Chen for "A Fabulous Adventure," Tanya Chua for "Amphibian," Penny Tai for "Crazy Love," Stefanie Sun for "The Perfect Day," Fanfan Fan for "One to One."
Best musical group: Awaking for "Download Happiness," Nan Quan Mama for "Meal No. 2," Material Girls for "Material-girls.com 2005," S.H.E. for "Don't Want to Grow Up," Jeff & Machi for "Superman."
Got so excited with the nominees that I may just watch GMA this yr whether or not David attend. Hopefully Wubai will perform or even Terry Lin whom I always enjoy listening. Wang Jisan who equalled David's 6 nominations said that he had sang with Tao Dawei before then praised David & hoped to collaborate with David in his new album.
This HK concert dvd already on sale in mainland China & online, there are 17 songs: Rain, Airport in 10.30, Who do you ove, Moon over whose heart, Runaway, Susan said, Smalltown girl, Season of loneliness, Black Tangerine, The art of war, Regular friends, 22, Fateless, Dear God, I love you & Love can. (Info credit davidcn) Not sure if its legit but maybe wanna watch out for parallel imports & see if its available here.
Some clips of David in press interview for Chinese Musician Club's 10 best albums & songs: here, here & here (Info credit TW Yahoo grp)
More HK concert clips @ youtube! This one shows him playing David Tan's guitar while singing Regular Friend. He sang it completely different from Soul Power with more tone variation. Incredible how he can just switch from low to high with amazing ease. After watching this, its really irrelevant to me whether or not he win the best male singer. He is just in a different class.

David in PJ

This pix (credit Sinchew.com) is killing me softly ... unruly hair, slightly unshaven face, a bit fatigued, the quirky look that only David can muster *melt melt melt* Only thing cannot bear to look at his swollen hand. He still cannot straighten his index finger & is quite concerned so will be consulting a specialist soon. Hope fervently all goes well & his hand will recover quickly *pray* Writeup below on his brief visit to PJ:
David Tao’s concert postponed to October
PETALING JAYA: Fans of Taiwanese superstar David Tao will have to wait another five months to watch their idol perform here after his concert yesterday was postponed.
But while the postponement of his “Love Can” World Tour 2006 concert in Malaysia will bring some disappointment, fans will be “rewarded” for their patience.
“Since the concert will be held after the release of my latest album, which is due in August, I will be singing some new songs from the album,” he said when announcing the new concert date here yesterday.
The concert, which was supposed to be held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium yesterday, has been postponed to Oct 28.
One reason given is that the singer-songwriter is still nursing an injured finger caused by a motorcycle accident.
“It has been almost a month since the accident but my finger is still swollen and I can't straighten it.
“Maybe I should insure my hands as they are very important for me as a musician, especially as I need to play the piano or guitar,” he said, adding that he would see a specialist soon.
On the six Golden Melody Awards nominations he received for his album The Great Leap, Tao said: “Of course, I feel very happy.”
The awards ceremony is Asia's equivalent to the US Grammy Awards.
“Even though I have won the Best Producer award in 1998, I still hope that I can win the award again or the Best Album award as a recognition of my teamwork with other musicians,” he said.
On his latest album, Tao said he would collaborate with some Malaysian musicians for the production of the album.
“It will be very different from my previous albums. It will not be as heavy and straight forward as my Black Tangerine and The Great Leap albums.”
Hotlink, with Galaxy Production as organiser, is presenting the David Tao “Love Can” World Tour 2006 concert. Tickets are priced at RM72, RM122, RM162, RM222, RM262 and RM352. For more information, call Galaxy at 03-2282 2020 or browse www.galaxy.com.my.
He sounded vry excited abt his 5th studio album & promised 'surprises'. I am excited too ^__^ dun you love the Talkies cover where they called him 'Genial God of Music'? (Pix credit talkies.com) Well hope his wish come true & he can get the best album award although my expectations not too high. While artists r claiming they dun mind not being nominated so long as fans are satisfied, its ironic that David did not catered to his fans when he released The Great Leap. Quite a few fans still do not like nor understand the album & many non-fans who like Black Tangerine thought The Great Leap was boring. I hope for his new album, David will once again not try to please his fans & listeners cos I think the "so long as fans are satisfied" excuse getting old. Had Mozart always tried to please his royal patrons & audience with the music they wanted to hear, the world would have lost some of the greatest music ever composed.

A little prayer for David

So awfully sweet ... really hope he get married soon & stop breaking young girls' hearts ^__^ can see the lovely Kewei behind. Unfortunately no idea where I got this pix so unable to give credit, so sorry! David has attended his KL concert launch & is reportedly heading for Spore to do studio work on his new album. But if you do bump into him, plse refrain from hugging the man, think he is in too delicate condition to suffer much more surprises heehee
Anyway most news re GMA centred around Jay Chou not getting any nominations. His fans jabbering online that GMA will have the lowest viewers, god what a small bunch of ill-mannered louts. Fyi GHA had the lowest viewers last yr despite Jay being nominated & the possiblity of appearing onstage with gf Patty. Now I really hope David will not attend. Sometimes I rather not have David win any awards, it just get too banal now with online voting by fans, how can fans judge the quality of an album or singer? Of cos they have popular awards which is too silly for words. Why should an album or singer get an award for crowd-pleasing K songs all in one octave? Award for best cm song make more sense, at least u know the song is supposed to be commercial.
Finished reading Da Vinci Code at last, it was a boring book & not really that controversial. Most of the theories in the books have already been discussed in other nonfiction books. I wonder what David's thinkings abt the theory of the role of woman being suppressed by the Church in order that only man will have the controlling hand in the world.
Btw there was a weird incident concerning Ah Sin of Shin being hurt in a famed nightspot in TW. He was cut seriously on the chin & had to be rushed to hospital >"< Apparently David was also there & sum reports tried to hint that David could have been involved *sigh* Hope Ah Sin get better soon. Concidentally was watching their series called Till love do us part, Ah Sin was adorable in it, so was Michael & the rest of the band. Here's a little get well prayer for both David & Ah Sin. God speed my love to you.
Lord, he who You love is sick. Lord, that I may see. Lord, that I may hear. Lord, that I may walk. Lord, if You will it, You can make me whole. Lord, say but the word. And I will be healed. Your will be done, O Lord

6 GMA nominations!

Congratulations to David for 6 nominations in GMA:
Best song - The art of war
Best album - The Great Leap
Best video - Ghost
Best song arrangement - The art of war
Best producer - The Great Leap
Best male singer
Dun have to win any cos GMA is notorious for this kinda letdown, just delighted that he is nominated. Guess most fans would like him to attend but if he dun feel comfortable attending then its his call I guess. Even if I am not a DT fan, I would still say The Great Leap is one of the best Mandarin albums released in 2005 so whether he get any awards really irrelevant.
Maybe the only award I like to see him get is Best male singer but he is up against singer god Jackie Cheung ... Honda Civic has clip of him singing cm song & watching it, I got so emotional. He not only sings well but he makes you feel it. There are some singers who sings beautifully but hardly moves you just wow she can really sing, great voice eg Faye Wong. There are some singers who rock your world but you wish he has a little more range eg Wubai. Then there's David, listening to him is so much enjoyment on so many levels. Its almost like great art, either you feel it or you don't but when you do, wow you really feel it ^__^ Guess I am rambling but I always cannot believe how BLISSFUL I can be after hearing him sing. I think if he ever serenade me, I will DIE from happiness, wonder how those 3 girls in HK manage to survive!
Anyway this thingie @ KL tmr? *confused* So David will still be @ 1 Utama 2.30pm rite? Just not meeting fans or shaking hands? But still can see him rite? Hope so for those who already make plans to go but thanks again star_lady for update.

Sunday in One Utama

Correction, David got both album & single into the top 10 lists of the Chinese Musician Club *confused* cos they put his name on top. He was the only artist in both lists so had the honor of revealing the winners. The list is compiled by mostly ppl in the music business & do not depend on sales or popularity. In answer to David's query abt Leehom not making the list, one of the judges said that Heroes was among the 30 albums in consideration but did not make the top 10. Anyway its only a yearly thing to judge 10 top albums & singles so its not any reflection on Leehom's status as one of the top singer/composers in Taiwan.
Look at his poor hand *pain* Still unable to play keyboard so new album release target now Jul/Aug but plse take care, its ok we can wait. The main thing is let your hand heal plse. Anyone attending Malaysia promo plse kiss it better ^__^ But seriously do tell him to take care & not play his guitar. Thanks again star_lady for more info:
Venue: One Utama
Time: 2.30pm
How to get there
So exciting that he will be so close in 2 days. Probably final time he will be seen in public before flying to LA to work on album (but not too hard, looking after hand more important) so hope SGFC will have plenty of pixs to enjoy!

05/07 - David in Malaysia!

David got the best album, The Great Leap, as well as best song, Susan Says, in 2005 from the Chinese Musicians Club *clap clap* 10 albums & 10 songs are selected each year & not sure if its the 1st time a singer got both best album & song. Nice to see that list of albums & songs differ which meant a good song can still be in the list even though the album is not so good, & an album can be good overall while not having an outstanding song. Eg Penny Dai's album selected but no song & Wu Bai's Made in Taiwan selected but not album.
I am really glad for once Susan Says is selected as I do think its such an influential song. Its really make ppl realised that chinese operatic music is not so different and inaccessible after all. The song is so evocative of ancient times & yet so modern at the same time. Also an old-fashioned love song with East-West melody. Really happy that it has been acknowledged at last & by Chinese musicians. David was happy & proud at this honor but he regretted that Leehom's work was not also acknowledged. Actually a bit confused as not sure which album is being judged, Shangrila released 12/04 or Heroes released 12/05. If its the former then agreed with David but the latter not really sorry >"< But here someone with similar view.
Thank you star_lady of SGFC for news flash - David will be in Malaysia this Sunday 05/07! Plse visit SGFC for more details. Guess he is stopping by enroute to LA for some concert promo. When asked if he will attend GMA in June, David's answer is once again negative. He will be working on album in LA. Guess the rift is still not healed *sigh*
Anyway he dun need more awards for The Great Leap. Hope his finger is getting better. Looking forward to his 5th studio album & live concert dvd. Decided to do Tension South Park style cos miss the guys so much but its hard to do them cos they dun really have a distinct style. Put all the South Parks up @ Interactive ^__^ Btw did a search for them @ youtube & there's quite a bit including Doritos cms. Hope to see them again real soon.

Quiet achievement

David has a song in the soundtrack of a 2002 Canadian movie called Face starring Bai Ling who actually quite a fine actress despite her offscreen antics. The movie won quite a few film awards & Small Town Girl is the only chinese song in the soundtrack:
ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK - includes theme song "Face" written and performed by Naughty by Nature, and hip-hop artists Mos Def, Pharoahe Monche, Delinquent Habits, Tre Hardson of the Pharcyde, as well as Chinese superstar David Tao (winner of MTV-Asia's Best Male Artist and Best Album Awards).
SONG LIST:
Small Town Girl - David Tao
Mr. Weatherman - Adriana Evans
Just Can't Hold On - Tre Hardson
Commonwealth - Bahamadia
The Light - Pharoahe Monche
Climb - Mos Def
Boulevard Star - Delinquent Habits
Hope U Do - Stephen Simmonds
Whyl-A-Baneene - Othorized Fam
Open Wide - Kim Hill
Bring It On Back - Othello
Monday Eve - Bay Sa
Take My Breath Away - Lonnie D. Hillyer
Face - Naughty by Nature

Feel so proud of him altho I am sure that other chinese songs probably been in the soundtrack of other english movies except we dun get to hear abt it. Still its nice to report on this quiet achievement of our Dave ^__^ Just a pity they got him as winner of MTV-Asia which is wrong as he has nvr received any >"< Just as well as I dun really have any opinion on this strange asian award show which featured mostly non-asian recipents. David did however received MTV award for best chinese video when they were originally more into the videos & not the entertainment fest that it has become now.
