Such a fabulous poster must post heehee. David looks so cooooooooool, luv the shirt & pose, just wonderful. Sprite poster out in China, seemed there r cans 2 with his pix, but ermmmmmm not 2 crazy abt pix on can, bit 2 commercialized. But posters r GOOD, can put on walls.
Lotsa Tension activities, on air interviews, playing bball, S'pore promo. Will try to update on Blog forum soon. Okie David's Lullaby seldom heard but great little song which David haf as last track on Black Tangerine, Katrina dun count as only demo. Vry fitting as last song cos its full of love & with love comes hope & strength. So I haf it translated to know fully what it means, & now share with u guys.
Look at that lavender sky
Vanishing quickly in a moment
All beautiful visions suffer the same fate
My treasured one too hope for the next day
Looking at your innocent face
The world has become my paradise
Child, smile sweetly in your dreams
In my embrace you can sleep safely
Shadows are the toys of monsters
Let you imagine you are in a horror play
The moonlight on the wall playing a game
Real or an illusion?
Sometimes it's hard to tell them apart
Let's go to the Milky Way to pick a star
In your fantasised journey of danger
I will accompany you
Please don't cry, I am by your side
I will not let anything hurt you
Your little hand tightly in mine
We will flee from your nightmares
For you, I will do anything willingly
My treasured one, cover up with your blanket
Outside your window the wind is blowing
You must learn not to be afraid of the dark
Soon you will only have yourself
To face life's happiness and sorrow
But remember my love will always be with you
Good night

A TASTE OF TAO
Sum nice reviews of David's Soul Power concerts last yr to enjoy - HK & KL, the writer is really, really, really wonderful *thumb up*
You think you're here to see me but actually I am here to see you- David Tao Zhe - from The Star (Malaysia)
David Tao Zhe rocked, serenaded and wowed the audience in his David Tao Soul Power tour in Hong Kong recently. Li EE KEE got carried away.
There is something to be said about a singer when some of the industry's renowned crooners take time off to attend his concert.
Although, in the case of David Tao Zhe, one need not require the presence of Anita Mui and Jacky Cheung to affirm what is common knowledge. Since the release of his self-titled debut album, Tao Zhe, in 1997, Tao has persistently proven his musical artistry to critics and fans alike.
Three album later-I'm OK (1999), Black Tangerine(2002) and his latest effort, Ultrasound 1997-2003, a best of compilation that includes four new tracks- Tao embarks on his first concert tour.
"One of the most difficult things as a singer is not being able to see tour listeners. I'm finally able to," Tao, who alternated between Mandarin, Cantonese and English, revealed during the concert at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
David Tao Zhe connecting with his audience: " There is power in music. Never underestimate it. My purpose is music in to spread love. That's what Soul Power is about - love, peace and harmony. And being able to share my music with you is a happy thing for me."
Tao proved to be an adept entertainer, evident from his recently concluded Hong Kong shows. On three consecutive nights beginning Aug 14, over 30,000 local fans joined by some from Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia gathered at the Hong Kong Coliseum to witness Asia's R&B King in action. Expectation were naturally high. Tao, too, must have felt some pressure. If he did, he did it well.
Clad in a black vest with the word "SOUL" emblazoned in sequins acroos the chest, matched with green cargo pants and guitar strapped across his shoulder, Tao's opening remarks was: "We're gonna rock the house tonight Hong Kong. Ready?" Despite having performed for the past two nights, each show lasting three hours, Tao showed no sighs of fatigue. He was on an adrenaline high. Thoughout the night he darted across the stage, making his way to the audience, much to their glee. Lauching into Wang Ba Dan (Bastard), a heavy rock-tinged number that high kicked its way into the concert's opening, its loud rhythms were then tempered with a slow number, Fei ji Change De 10:30(Airport in 10:30)
Tao rendered 28 songs that night ranging from R&B, hip-hop and rock to pop and dance from his four albums. Fans also got to hear three of his new tracks from Ultrasound - the upbeat Jin Tian Mei Hui Jia(Shanghaied), the tender Ji Mo De Ji Jie (season of Loneliness) and inspirational Runway, which tells of how one must be daring in pursuing one's dream.
The US-based singer also presented several numbers a cappella, sometimes accompanied by just the piano, other times by the guitar and violin. Special guest Tension, Tao's protege, performed Ye Lai Xiang and Boyz 2 Men's Its So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday.
Other English numbers covered included the classic Somewhere over the Rainbow by Judy Garland from The Wizard of Oz movie and U2's I still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.
Unlike many of today's singers whose concerts are glitzy affairs filled with extravagant pomp and splendour, Tao' Soul Power was all about the music minus the frills. No fancy props, skimpily dressed dancers or a dozen costume changes.
Instead, fans were treated to an intimate evening with their favourite singer who serenaded them while backed by an able groups of eight musicians, comprising three guirarists, two drummers, two keyboardists and a violinist. Malaysia's own extablished musicians Lewis Pragasam and Andy Peterson were among the line-up.
"Music isn't just for entertainment," Tao informed fans. "To me, it's something serious. There is power in music. Never underestimate in. My purpose in music is to spread love. That's what Soul Power is about-love, peace and harmony. And being able to share my music with you is a happy thing for me."
But it wasn't all business. Tao entertained, engaging in delightful and at times poignant banter with fans. He let them in on an embarrassing episode at a Mcdonalds outlets in Hong Kong when he was a child. From then on, he realised his Cantonese wasn't exactly his strongest language. (Tao and his family moved to Taiwan when he was a young boy.)
He takes his fans down memory lane, reminiscing his earliest recollection of Hong Kong, from taking the Star Ferry to travelling on the MRT. He revealed that it was in Hong Kong, his birthplace, that he found himself. Tao also coyly indulged fans with hand-shakes, hugs and for one ecstatic girl, a kiss as a reward for applying lip balm on his lips.
It was evident that the fans enjoyed every minute of their time with him, and vice versa. As he indicated at one point during the concert:"You think you're here to see me but actualy I am here to see you."
After the concert, Tao remark that he was very happy with the fans. Unlike what he had been cautioned earlier, they were warm and responsive - dancing, singing, waving, hooting, clapping and teasing with shouts of "you are so sexy/ good looking" and "Daaavvviiiddd..."
Such reaction was not restrited to teenaged girls, for the guys were in on the action too, showing no inhibition in expressing their love for Tao's music as they waved their glow sticks in sync with tunes.
It was an enjoyable three hours, though there were times when the momentum tended to slow down. As Tao himself admitted, there is still room for improvement.
A blast of a good time
By LI EE KEE , Tuesday September 16, 2003
A natural on stage, Tao enthralled fans, young and old, male and female. David Tao Zhe’s Soul Power Tour concert rocked the 15,000-odd crowd at Stadium Merdeka and LI EE KEE came away singing praises for it.
IF A one-line review would suffice, I would say David Tao Zhe’s Soul Power Tour concert in Malaysia was a blast.
For those who weren’t there, yeah, you may say you didn’t miss anything. But if you were, you would know how much fun you had at possibly one of the year’s best Chinese concerts (in Malaysia, of course).
And if one person amongst the close to 15,000 gathered at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur, last Saturday got Tao’s message of love, compassion and understanding (hint: the video recordings about the importance of hugging and how the most beautiful asset of a city is its people), Tao has succeeded in his purpose.
As expected, the show started later than scheduled but it was worth the waiting.
Wang Ba Dan (Bastard) set the proceedings in motion. Its kick-butt rhythm and lyrics were the perfect pick to get fans roused. Next up was the song that had the public asking, “Who is Tao Zhe?” five years ago, the R&B tinged Airport. Quicksand and 22 followed subsequently.
Twenty-eight songs were performed that night encompassing his three previous albums: Tao Zhe (1997), I’m OK (1999) and Black Tangerine (2002). He also rendered Shanghaied, Runaway and Season of Loneliness from his latest, Ultrasound 1997-2003, a best of compilation with four new tracks. Each song was lapped up by fans with relish.
Tao also covered Zhang Hui Mei, popularly known as A-Mei’s, High High High, which was produced by him (quite fitting too considering A-Mei is scheduled to stage her concert here soon), and delivered an imaginative reinterpretation of Teresa Teng’s classic, Yue Liang Dai Biao Wo De Xin (The Moon Represents My Heart) with a tinge of R&B flavour.
In addition, he sung two English numbers – the acappella staple Boyz II Men’s Its So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday with protégé and guest artiste Tension, and from Tao’s favourite band U2, the stirring anthem I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For, which was given a twist at the end as Tao tellingly revised it to, “But I think I have found what I’m looking for”.
There was little that was lacking in Tao’s presentation. Every song was delivered with his heart and soul. Without having to worry about dance moves and which costume he had to change into next, Tao focused solely on what really mattered – his music.
Be it a cappella, unplugged or with the backing of a full band, Tao demonstrated he is indeed the real deal.
Proving his versatility, Tao shifted effortlessly from the hard-hitting Black Tangerine before taking it a notch down with a soulful rendition of the romantic Blue Moon, only to later pick up the groove with the hip-hop influenced beats of Shanghaied. The singer-songwriter-producer on stage was no doubt an entertainer.
Anyone can sing after a few lessons but to move crowds of thousands and hold their attention for close to three hours require a certain charm that few possess. A natural on stage, Tao enthralled fans of all ages.
Even when Tension took to the stage, the spotlight never shied away from Tao. During their a cappella routine, Tao took everyone’s breath away with his amazing vocal abilities (think Whitney Houston when her notes go on forever) and proved that the teacher was still the master.
As he had made clear in his promo visit a few weeks back, Tao went all out in his one-night concert. Running to and fro on stage despite having sung his lungs out earlier, he was the Energizer bunny in action.
Kudos too must go to his band. The 13-member band, of which five were Malaysia’s well-known musicians – violinist Joanne Yeoh, drummer Lewis Pragasam, bassist Andy Peterson, guitarist Ajit and the self-confessed “mat salleh sesat” Jamie Wilson (hubby of famous songbird Ruhil, who was there to support him) – matched up to Tao’s energetic display. Like him, they were having a rolling good time and their wonderful camaraderie was infectious.
And lest you think back-up vocals should remain in the background, well, think again. One of the highlights that night was when Tao’s “little chickadees”, all five of them, came out to play, taking centrestage with Tao as they sang along with him on Kungpao Chicken and My Anata. Their hilarious antics were absolutely adorable as were the people themselves.
Tao’s fans were a great crowd, coming from as far as Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan and even Africa (the latter being the running joke of the night). They sang, waved and danced. It was a sight to behold.
Little wonder that Tao may have felt somewhat emotional as he spread his arms wide and hugged everyone. Gosh, even I got a bit misty-eyed. Malaysians really rocked that night.
Not forgetting a special mention to the security personnel. Some may criticise them for their killjoy attitude, including Tao, but they were just doing their job.
Having been fortunate enough to to witness his Hong Kong edition of the Soul Power Tour (thanks to organiser Galaxy Production and presenter Tiger Power Hitz), and having watched his Malaysian performance, while there were only minor differences (even the jokes were recycled), nothing beat the atmosphere of home – seated in the historic Stadium Merdeka (compared to the covered Hong Kong Coliseum) under a clear night sky with the Petronas Twin Towers illuminating in the background and surrounded by thousands of really swinging Malaysians.
I may still be reeling from the lack of hearing in my left ear; no thanks to being seated right smack in front of the huge speakers, but it was worth it. And if anyone asks, I was there at David Tao’s Soul Power Tour concert.

BREATHING SPACE
Shouldn't the best selling artist in a country be at least living in that country? Oso how do u measure sales in China? It's near impossible, most record cos cheat & used volume shipped not album sold, meaning the cds could be sitting in a warehouse sumwhere in china & yet considered sold. Yeah, being cynical again, but bit too much that award considering the overall political silliness. Taiwanese singer given award really belonging to chinese national, cos Taiwan still not recognised worldwide as legit country. I do feel sry for that guy having that ill conceived award, but then seemed that he & his fans r overjoyed so.......
Anyway onto less serious stuff heehee, haf posted David's 3 msgs in Blog forum cos he gave permission for them to be posted to other related websites. Oso haf activities forum so if u guys noe of any David or Tension upcoming events, plse post. Oso in David profile, will post all his albums & hope to get sum reviews so that ppl not familiar with David get sum idea which one to get. Often see ppl asking this & not enough reviews around. Of cos the best to get them all kekekekekekeke, but sum ppl may not or dun haf the means to get all. Oso sum places unable to get his earlier albums so review could be good way to let ppl understand David music.
Often get the feeling imma screaming in silence here but like David just do what my heart tells me to do & create sum breathing space here for ppl who geninuely care about the future of chinese music. Like the award mentioned above, it really hurts that chinese music becoming more & more money, idol packaging & commercial driven even overwriting politics.

NON ASIAN DT FANS
Saw sumone asking if David haf any non asian fans, I think I noe of one, ukfan, think he not asian, heehee, oso hope if he see this to leave sum msgs (*______*) dun be shy. Anyway remind that I read this sum time ago & tho it hilarious that Colin Pine (behind Yao Ming in pix), Yao's interpreter, sang David's song. 2nd non asian I noe singing David's song, there's link here sumwhere another white guy singing I love you.
When David & Eason was in same hotel as Yao Ming last yr & got his autograph, he thought Yao knew him & not Eason cos his cousin gave him cd, but actually it prolly cos of Colin (whoa just realised non asian introducing David to asian! kekekekekekekeke). Anyway luv posting that pix cos of the height diff heehee. Anyway quite a lot of the musicians David worked wif in the studio & concert r non asians, so they must at least like his music to wanna work with him rite. Oso Singapore accapella group haf non asian singer love singing David songs, heard them on air once. Anyway this vry trivial whether David haf non asian fans, not important as David's intention haf always been to bring the best to Chinese music.

THE LEGENDARY JOHN LENNON
davidtao.org down & not sure will be up again, but who cares? No activity there anyway. Poor David, dun worry, try my bestest to maintain my blog 4 those rare english speaking David fans heehee. But if u need assurance that u r still appreciated, this published May 2004, Liu Xiang said David & Jacky Cheung r his idols b4 he got his gold Olympic medal. Just so many celebrities r quoted as Liu Xiang's idols now that he so popular in China, but David & Jacky r the first okie. And the avid David collector if there is 1 can get this rare Nov 2002 Esquire with Andy Lau cover & 4 pages of David!
Now 4 the best, this member page, where quoted in profile jaychou taught me how to fly in music, but David tao taugt me how to freefall in music *highfive* member whoever she is. If dun noe what dis is, in David's Ultrasound docu dvd near the end he said, "The Beatles taught us how to fly, but John Lennon taught us how to freefall." Then he revealed sadly he still dun know to freefall, cos to fly easier cos can depend on things such as planes, but to freefall a lot harder as haf to depend on yourself. But David actually u r alredi freefalling & not only that, u taught sum of us how to freefall. I hope u can read this or if sumone from davidcn can forward link to that member page, I think David will be so pleased. All his hard work & insistence on good music haf moved sumone to write this great tribute to him.

Thanx to mil *muak* for headup re Penny meeting David. Details here if u r in Malaysia. Okie watch full version of Tension mv & its look great. Eugene vry beautiful, John vry cute & just adore Jimmy's look, so man. The song Slowly follow the moon specially written by Korean composer 4 Tension, vry soothing & nice. So David now back in LA I guess. Miss him alreadi *sigh*

TENSION! TENSION!
David & Tension together again. So good 2 see them together thanx 2 nlayhua & davidcn 4 headup re their get together. At Taipei during Tension promo for compilation album Story. Altho raining, fans still lined up since morn 2 see them making Tension very teary. Then David made surprise visit b4 flying back LA to work on new album (yeah!!!!). Oso like all white look, more accapella group & less boyband. My fav member is Jimmy cos he haf 'never say die' attitude & dun depend on his famous dad, Samo Hung. If he went into his movies, he prolly get famous vry quickly. With his dad's support, his cute looks, buff bod & kungfu skills, Jimmy haf chance to be action hero. Well, he prolly haf better chance than Jaycee Chan heehee. But Jimmy's love is music & he focus on it, admire & respect him for that. Go Jimmy! Go Tension!
SOME NEWS ROUNDUP
Actually think I prefer his old hairstyle. Anyway nothing much but sum updates from other websites 4 those chinese challenged heehee. David's 006 cm 4 TFN vcd with behind the scenes stuff on sale along with 2 call cards in Taiwan. On Nov 7 David will be in China 4 Sprite promotion along with Boyz & Jaycee Chan. It seemed 1 of Tension's new songs by David, either he wrote or produced not sure. Oso was sure I read sumwhere that he produced their theme song 4 Taiwan baseball team, I will not be blocked.

TENSION & JASMINE'S NEW SONGS
Okie Tension new look for a change hehe (sry no credit as forgot where I got it). Compilation album out in Taiwan, include their baseball cm & long mv with music arranged & produced by Brian. The mv starred Jimmy (who looks wonderful), John & Eugene, member of Korean group SES. Anyway can watch at t4tension. The album haf 5 new songs & I think 19 old songs, so good value. Can hear their new song Slowly follow the moon at Love Planet, they gone back to classic r&b & accapella style which is great. They r the best at it.
Oso heard Jasmine's song I already know by David & just love it! I really think its one of his best songs. If u like Michelle Branch, you love this song. Its Michelle Branch with a dash of r&b. I like it so much, I upload 4 u guys cos well not all David fans r Jasmine fans, but plse, plse support originals & go buy Tension & Jasmine albums if u like them okie.
Courtesy davidcn, 7 days limit
Jasmine did well altho she not the calibre of Michelle, & the song turn into a mini duet with David at the end cos his voice kinda overcome hers a little but just so nice hearing him sing & end up wanting to hear him sing the whole song heehee. Lotsa ppl tend to criticise his singing & I nvr understand why, I think maybe chinese listeners not used to western style of singing, cos there is nothing shabby abt David's vocals. These ppl prolly think Michelle is a bad singer 2 kekekekekekekeke

COMMENTS PLEASE
Another super global award pix courtesy of taozhe.com. Okie, thanx to mercuria who was chatting, decide 4 more interaction here so now poll haf comments. If u dun wanna vote but leave comment, click on current results & comment away. Just sum fun things to do here than just read my posts & look at pixs heehee, so hope u guys will participate. 1st poll is just fun stuff cos of the two girls, Selina & Jasmine, saying they like him in public. Just feel rather weird, do they really like him or just 4 publicity? Maybe they felt David safe choice cos he older & treat them like younger sisters so will not do or say anything. But its funny that most idols try not to talk abt love life, these 2 girls do so happily & publicly. If u haf yr thoughts, plse leave comments okie. No censoring here so non David fans oso free to comment but plse no rude abuse okie because just silly & childish. Maybe let us noe why u dun like David & maybe we can change yr mind hehehehehehe. No seriously, we really feel David is one of the nicest, most honest, most open, most talented chinese guys around, & if dun agree, we like to noe why. Here u can see his sincerity in singing *______*

As u see, they tried to put in his song titles. If u noe chinese, can read abt his recording. Oso he shared his first 'love affair' with music. It was during kindergarten when all his classmates were fetched by their parents, but neither his dad or mom came for him. It was getting late & raining, neglected little David don't know what to do, and then he heard a strange song from the radio. It was Beatles' 'Yellow Submarine' so it became his most unforgettable music memory. (How come David always haf such special recollections? He is just incredibly special I guess hehehehehe)
Oso did a fun poll re the women in his life - Selina & Jasmine Leong. It seemed that Jasmine, like Selina, has publicly declared her affection for David. When asked if she is fighting with Selina for David, Jasmine said that she didn't know about that, all she saying is she likes David a lot. But Jasmine admitted that its one sided as David only treated her like a little sister. Haf alredi posted Jasmine's pix, here's Selina if u dun noe what she looks like.
I like both, they r both pretty, womanly, sweet & talented. But more towards Jasmine as she seemed the more matured one.

SOME OF MY THOUGHTS
Like dis screen cap cos it said in chinese by the side, "The more you listen, the more it touches your heart." At least sumone in the media is a David fan heehee!
Okie I read the article which jay fans r getting all hot & bothered hehehehehehehe & convinced its spurious. The words used r actually the same as article last yr which appeared after he announced not attending GMA. All that abt having professional judges & not comparing him to Jay. Oso I watched most of the tv news & none showed him saying these things. They showed Jolin saying she didn't haf breast enhancement, Lee Hom hugging his male friend, so y not David making controversial statements unless of course he nvr said them.
He prolly was asked abt Jerry's album & made the short statement abt Jerry's sincerity, then the writer decided to put in the rest to make him sound like a sore loser. David dun read chinese news & even if he does, he seldom come out to defend himself. Only once did he said he couldn't haf said the things in an article cos the writer claimed he interviewed David in sum airport & David wasn't even there.
I wanna make it clear here not cos of Jay fans, but just for the record. Its like what David said, do u believe everything that is being written? The chinese media loves controvesy & if there isn't any, they made it up. I bet half the things being written abt what David said r not true. If u read all his msgs, I think u know his own sincerity. Yes, he is vocal abt a lot of issues, but he will not deliberately insult another artist.
DAVID'S 3RD MESSAGE
This is a very long message. Really enjoy reading & glad that he is finding inspiration at last. Oso davidcn.com has put up streaming video of David's speeches & performance at Global Award Show. Dun u luv this community of David fans, both chinese & english? Oso think its best to ignore Jay fans, if they wanna abuse David cos they think he insult Jay by praising Jerry, let them. Poor David, get abused when he criticises & oso when he praises. If they think badly of him, why worry abt his opinions?

THE HEAVENLY DAVID
More adorable pixs here courtesy Pusanna heehee. Okie my happy self again, & loving David more & more each day. He really is heavenly. Here looking good with Penny Dai who is just beautiful.
Saw him on the news today & he looking great, a bit tanned & so manly. Of all the chinese celebrities, he's the one that looks kinda normal, very down to earth but still gorgeous. No airs at all & just carry himself with confidence. Oso saw Eason singing Katrina live in HK. Eason really sing live so well & David did such a great job of arranging the song 4 him.
This is Angela Chang, Taiwanese idol star who oso sings, not a bad voice & quite pretty with huge eyes. Anyway Angela was at global awards 2 & said that her idols are Lee Hom & David, she felt like a fan when she saw them backstage. She oso said that she was once sat next to David on a plane. David fell asleep & she was happily admiring him when a stewardess tripped over his leg & woke him up. Angela felt mad that her heavenly dreaming was over. Very adorable rite, think if I sat next to him, I be in heaven too heehee, can read here if u noe chinese.
David oso haf sum kind words for Jerry Yan, member of F4, who recently released his album. He felt that despite his good looks, Jerry put a lot of effort & sincerity into his music & singing. I saw Jerry in Magic Kitchen & he did well despite the awful script & great chemistry between Sammi & Andy. Sumtime an idol celebrity need encouragement 2 not the usual 'no talent only look' comments. Not their fault that they haf such good looks & all the members of F4 r vry pleasant & well mannered idols. In fact they dun act like idols at all. When Jerry knew abt David's words, he was so touched that he almost cried. And Jay fans plse dun over react, its not always abt Jay, the world dun revolve around Jay okie. *sigh* here we go again

BELIEVING IN DAVID AGAIN!
Is this for real???? Just when imma feeling so sad cos of David's slackness, I read this - how he isolated himself & played the drums & guitar late at night. I feel like crying cos think I kinda lost faith in him last nite. Alrite they might haf given him the award cos of EMI & Sprite but still he deserved it. He really the best that chinese music haf to offer & we as fans must go on supporting him even tho he really is slack kekekekekekeke. But then so is my fav director Wong Kar Wai, & yet even Cannes waited 4 him cos he is a genius. Till today he still haf not finished editing 2046.
Can imagine David playing drums & guitars late at nite, so painful yet so sweet. He really wanna produced the best or he is not happy, always the perfectionist.
Sum chinese critic once said that there r 500 David Taos in the US, & only 1 Jay in Taiwan. Then why r there so many Jay type music around & so little David, could it be cos Jay music easier to produce? Heck even my ex-bf can do Jay music & he a failed musician. Why do so many singer/writer started up sounding like David (eg Anson Hu, Wayne Lin, Hins Cheung) & ended up sounding like Jay? Not saying they r no good. All of them r talented in their own rights but they r all doing the same sound cos its easier & quicker to produce an album with that kinda sound. The only songwriter who dun sound like Jay is Lee Hom & he suffered for it cos not really regarded as cool & 'with it' as the rest of the pack. Do u really want the chinese music industry to be flooded with Jay sound? Its ok for even 5 or 6 albums, but 10 or 20?
Not 4 me, I want real music, I want music from someone who stayed up late at nite strumming on his guitar & beating his drums. And if I haf to wait a lifetime for this kinda music, well, Cannes waited for 2046 rite, and dun think I haf to wait too long cos I believe in David, simple as that.
GLOBAL AWARD SHOW CRITICISM
Lotsa criticism re this award show as seemed to be giving awards for awards sake. Esp when awarding three groups at one go so the stage is full of ppl. Stefanie Sun who supposedly 'on holiday' got most popular female singer, most popular male singer is boring old Jay again. They should haf sum originality & awarded Jacky Cheung whose album so touching & personal. Jacky given the music industry so much & he is extremely popular everywhere, it may be sumtime b4 he come up with new album & be seen in award shows. May be the last time he nominated for most popular male singer.
Worst off is Lee Hom who wasn't even nominated for most popular male singer. Lee Hom been so hardworking from last yr to now holding concerts, promoting & coming up with Japanese album. No wonder he looked kinda glum here.
David was criticised for being nominated just for Ultrasound & a couple of Sprite cms & haf to agree. David hardly did anything this yr & he got 3 awards. He certainly not as hardworking as Lee Hom, Jay or Jacky. Come on David, you can do better. You are not one to rest on your laurels so plse keep your promise & release your new album this year, & haf your china concerts early next yr as PROMISED. Plse dun disappoint your fans again or you make me sad. Its not enough you show up looking gorgeous & woo your fans with your sexy singing & then leave immediately to hibernate in LA.

MORE GLOBAL AWARD UPDATES
He looked quite gorgeous here. Love his Tiffany cross pin, he could start a trend here heehee.
3rd award received Best Album Producer of the year & while happy he got the award, dun really deserved it as he hasn't released a brand new album for 2 yrs. He got it cos Ultrasound was well produced but its compilation. Either Lee Hom or Jay should haf get the award cos their albums last yr were completely new & well produced. Think David realised cos in his speech he stressed again that he dun wanna write 'blank cheque' & will really tried to release his new album end of yr. Maybe nitpicking here but that y dun like award shows. Obvious they r just dividing awards, David got this award only cos they gave the most to Jay who is Sony. David is EMI so they haf to give to him not Lee Hom who is oso Sony like Jay. So really Lee Hom is robbed of the Best Producer award.
GLOBAL AWARD PIXS & RESULTS
Rehearsal I think
Mmmmmm....very bright shirt
Looking really corny surrounded by dancers haha
David received two awards:
1 of Top Golden Melody of the year (Shanghaied), & in his acceptance speech, he said he felt tonight is like Olympics cos singers come from all countries and he is glad to see so many coming from mainland China. He extend warm welcome to all of them.
Most Popular Singer/Songwriter (with Wang Lee Hom, Nic Tse, Hins Cheung & Jay)
Quite funny, he said thank you very loudly then giggled & said he felt the pressure most cos on the stage the youngest is Hins, the most goodlooking is Lee hom while Jay & Nic both so talented, he is old and ugly so he is happy to still receive the award.
Vry strange award show as it seems everybody receive an award or more, in fact more giving awards to everybody than winning.
DAVID'S HERE AT LAST!
Horrid pix from EMI promo. Really should consider changing his stylist heehee. Anyway news is David has arrived!!! to attend 4th Global Chinese awards. Can watch if u haf Azio, red carpet@7.00pm TW time. Hopefully pixs at Tungstar tomolo so can post hoho. Anyway will not be around to watch & not crazy abt award shows anyway cos being really cynical here but does anybody really think its legit? David prolly show his face cos of EMI. Oso he was interviewed re Liu Xiang liking his songs & he said sports is kinda like music, both chasing that moment of perfection (maybe he read my Moment of happiness post kekekekekeke), and that if they haf chance to meet maybe can cooperate together. Btw hope Liu Xiang keep to sports & not lured to launch record. Then re his new album, once again David said, "It will be done when it's done."
Replying to angel re David in Anita's concert clip, HK friend send via irc last yr, not sure think available by subscription on sum HK website. David's Soul Power clip oso available & diff from dvd. Will post that next okie cos its really nice. And everybody reading, plse dun thank me 4 sharing cos really thankful u guys supporting David. Not many of us around but we stay faithful.
DAVID & HIS ADMIRERS
Karena Lam surprising David with visit last yr in Taipei. Strange puppet thingy a gift I guess, but kinda weird. David haf lotsa female celebrity admirers, cos most famous is Selina of SHE, then this Japanese singer who sang his version of Spring Wind in her concert, Melody Chiang Mei Chi who said he is the perfect bf, Joyce Shum (Lydia Shum's daughter on a diet), Anya (erm she was in Naked Weapon), & the latest Jasmine Leong who want her next bf be like David. Even Elva Hsiao rest her head on his shoulder rather Lee Hom or Eason during charity concert.
1 fan unkindly suggest David afraid to move cos Elva might fall into his arms kekekekekekeke. Sry Elva fans, just a joke, sure Elva too moved by singing & unconsciously rest head on David's shoulder.
The most sad admirer was the late Anita Mui. She really was supportive of him & called herself his 'ardent fan'. Watch link below where David said he was shocked during 1st HK concert when she suddenly leapt on stage to sing with him. He was oso her guest during her last HK concert. Upload their concert clip for 7 days.
Clicky
1st song was Blue Moon which they sang together & so touching the way David tried to harmonised as Anita's voice a bit too low. Then he sang Angel & preferred this live version to Soul Power cos he was really relaxed & smiled a lot. Last was I Love You & again vry relaxed altho he did let go at the end which was nice. Really enjoyable clip as David looked happy, relaxed & rather sexy. Plse be warned vry large file so could take quite long to dl okie.

ANOTHER UPDATE
Heehee, cos hate to sleep sumtimes. Anyway Jasmine Leong's album on preorder. (She decided to call herself Jasmine, pity, Fish Leong sounds unique.) Titled Dovetail Butterfly, the song written by Ah Shin of Mayday, a rock song alredi being played. Nvr listen as not really interested in Jasmine or Mayday. David's the 5 song called I already know.
Anyway was chatting with another David fan who complained that everytime David's name mentioned, invariably Jay fan will pop up to say sumthing bad. Y is that? I dun understand myself. I really dun understand y sum Jay fans wanna hate on David. What is their problem? Even when we told them that Jay can haf everything - the crown, the awards, the fans, the votes, the accolades, everything, still they wanna hate. Its a mystery to me. I admit there r sum David fans who hate Jay 2, but they dun pop up at every Jay thread to say mean things. The dumbest thing was when 1 Jay fan said he hates David cos he cannot understand him. Well so dun listen to David then. Nobody forcing u to listen to David or understand him. Even David himself dun force ppl to like or understand his music. David not ubiquitous like Jay so easy nvr listen to him.
Oso David's music not meant for playing in shopping centres or karaoke. Best to listen late at night when u r not doing anything, just lying in bed maybe. Again 1 Jay fan complained that David music boring & no surprises, compared to Jay. That cos David is David and Jay is Jay. They r diff so plse dun compare.
But *sigh* I noe imma talking in vain for even if the fans dun compare, the stupid chinese media will. They love to compare & then gleefully point that Jay the winner. These reporters really love to downgrade David for sum reason, I think cos David speak the truth & nvr pretend. They will say that David not vry popular, past his prime, his songs not requested at karaoke, his style too westernised, he not goodlooking or haf plastic surgery (how can haf plastic surgery if not considered goodlooking?), his popularity fading (how can popularity fade if not popular enough?), too slow in releasing albums (why release albums if considered past his prime?). And the worst actually accused David comparing himself to Jay in order to be popular, cannot see logic in that seeing as the comparision by the media not David. And y waste so much space on David if u think he is not newsworthy? If he past his prime, then dun write abt him.
As I said David not ubiquitous like Jay, hardly see his image or heard his songs anywhere. Fans complained impossible to find his poster. His cost for releasing his music a fraction of Jay cos he dun haf cool, trendy image to maintain or film mvs for all his songs at great expense. He hardly held concerts. One reporter said he lost chance to make a lotsa money by cancelling his china concerts this yr. In fact David seems to make himself as unpopular as possible, the opposite of Jay. So y r Jay fans still hating & the media still comparing? Really dun understand at all.

BLACK TANGERINE HK PROMOS
Around Oct/Nov 2002, during Black Tangerine promo in HK, fans gave him this wire guitar. This time David did lotsa promos as his first album after more than 2 yrs. Here sum streaming videos from TVB, HK station. Surprised still in archives.
Talking abt Anita Mui attending his 1st concert in HK, really sweet here as he haf cold & dun wanna speak Cantonese.

Here he toured HK with TVB host & talked abt his fav HK snack, White Rabbit candy, oso spoke in Cantonese, vry cute.

In concert, Moon over whose heart, terrible as he forgot so many lines but he kept smiling. Really lazy here as he could haf sang better 4 his many, many fans waving his name.

In concert, Black Tangerine, much better performance so his fans cheered madly & he changed line to "When I see all of you, I don't want to cry." David really cared 4 his fans.

POLLS & QUIZZES
Just luv this pix (courtesy davidcn), not handsome like Lee Hom but sure is cute. Tension's new album titled Story due out 9/6, produced by Brian this time. Tension wanna step out of David's shadow. Good luck Tension, u can do it.
Like their new image, less boyband & most of them haf haircuts especially Andy, he looks really great.
Okie almost confirmed David will attend the big award show this Sat & walk the red carpet which prolly means he get an award, hoho. But dun care so long as can see him in the news. Btw did poll last nite for fun. Oso doing sum David quizzes but no promise when as they r hard to do.
